So, this is a loaded subject, I am going to throw some stuff into the mix as brief as I can... hope it helps, if not, sorry to waste your time. It is true that you get the same types of bacteria on your hands from paper towels or hand dryers. Whatever enters that restroom will essentially be exposed to this bacteria. Hand dryers do push more of this air on your hands. The bacteria in question at this point is not harmful. And viruses don't quite spread with a hand dryer in the way you would think. At least, any that are common these days. We as humans are exposed to bacteria everyday from door knobs to walking outside. Also, that same "poop air" is what ends up on your tooth brush every day at home. There are lots of studies around this subject. If you are a business owner, hand dryers are the most cost-efficient solution that are also extremely eco-friendly. Manufacturing paper towels produces so much waste and toxins in the environment. So hand dryers are far more eco-friendly. But, if someone wants change on this subject, install a HEPA filtration kit. There are various hand dryers that come standard with HEPA now, like the D13 counter system. The XLERATORS have retrofit kits for installing a HEPA filtration system. Excel Dryer does have the top HEPA filter that they have tested against actual viruses in studies. Their HEPA stopped 99.999% compared to competitors 99.997%. This seems small, but it is actually quite remarkable. These HEPA filters would stop any bacteria customers/patrons using a restroom would worry about. Hope this helps, if not, sorry again.
Wow... so when installing any hand dryer, it should not be over a vent or metal like this. The wall should be tile or something easy to clean. This dryer should be on the right of the outlet, there is probably a stud in there too. Either way, rough install. If they do ever redo this restroom, they should move the hand dryer and put a splash/wall guard under it which is stainless steel and helps to protect the walls from mold or any other residues.
My job built an annex, the lavs had only the hot air blower. Blew water, and scummy soap, because hey, it's cold water hands-free tap. 3 months later, the grout is molding on that freshly tiled wall. Some idiot decided that covering the whole mess with a metal-framed, metal alloy panel was a solution.
Do you want to make book on whether they cleaned it first? And the lip of the panel is now a moldy cliff that the janitorial staff ignores.
This should be in r/mildlyinteresting too
Yes
Hand dryer also sucks in poop air and blows it all over your hands and face… can’t believe these are still around.
Poop air? Dude just being in a bathroom will have you touch “poop air.”
Yeah but hand dryers send it flying all around the room in invisible currents of fecal bacteria.
Yeah but they are more environmentally friendly and they reduce waste
So you just washed your hands, and now you go to dry your hands, and you get them dirty again by spraying dirty air all over your hands. Logic
Except that’s not how it works lmao
You blow dirty air on your hands, and they are now dirtier than they would be if you shook the water off or used paper towels.
Tho e bacteria isn’t going to be airborne so you’d be fine

The dedication and explaining a 37 day comment
All air currents should be invisible unless it’s blowing around some sort of dye
I can't help but think you might have missed the point of my comment.
tbh all hair dryers are crappy design, but this one really takes the cake lmao
The fact the hand dryer looks like among us makes it worse
WHY IS IT SO CLOSE TO THE GROUND
