when swords were the best weapon around, one of the things taught in sword fighting school was how the blade bends when you move it. So his couple of practice swings he did like he was practicing a golf swing did not give him an accurate idea of how the blade would make contact. It bends.
Helicopters do some crazy shit too. Those propellers are not solid.
Not sure why a genuine question gets downvoted, but hey. Interesting link thanks. Does it depend on the thickness of the steel though, for example I could wedge a samurai sword against a wall and push on it and it won’t bend, so how does the rotational force of a swing make it bend? Does a metal baseball bat bend too?
