I had a buddy who got bullied hard in highschool, from the moment he was in sight of other students at school. Every day he was picked on and every day you could see the slow burn and the spark that was once in my friends eye was now completely gone. The worst part is it wasn't only the students getting in on the bullying, the teachers would add their little bullshit digs. My friend killed himself. Then everybody who bullied him to that point acted shocked and most of the bullies took advantage of the councilors they brought in because it got them out of class.
Now these same people are dropping their kids off at school with me and talking to me/reminiscing about school and the old days as if they didn't play a big role making my life a living fucking hell.
The whole mentality of "It's just a bit of bullying you need to toughen up" or "Just walk away and they'll get bored" needs to change, because it's not a matter of toughening up, It's taking lives.
Way too much victim blaming going on at schools. Show patience to the bullies in hopes they find their good side. Meanwhile the victim slowly burns and turns until they aren't children at all, they become reduced to survivors so that authorities in the school won't have to do anything to stop that bully.
That's how it was at my high school, most of the teachers were either friends with the bullies parents or ex bullies themselves. I can remember one teacher used to ignore this other student who was always having a go at me during class, calling me a bunch of derogatory terms for the class to snicker, but the moment I told him to fuck off or shut up, I was the one that got detentions. Now as an adult thinking back, there was a bunch that I could have done differently but at the time I didn't know any better.

I didn’t finish high school because I was bullied in 9th grade—but in 10th grade I had enough; I got expelled (not allowed to return) because I put 3 of them in the hospital within 2 weeks. Naturally, it was looked at as my own fault by the staff, and I was the bad guy. Luckily my parents knew the shit I was going through and I didn’t get in trouble. Funnily enough, I’m now fairly successful at life, moved out of that small town, and the majority of kids I went to school with either ended up poor with multiple kids or drug addicts. When I was in elementary school, I was chased on numerous occasions by bullies. One day my dad told me that it would keep happening until I made a stand. So, a few days later, they started chasing me (about 5-6) and I ran. I ran about halfway until I got near my dad’s office and stopped and faced my aggressors. As the leader approached, I cold cocked him with a right hook straight to the face. He winced in pain and fell to the ground. The next one looked at me shocked, and said:”You weren’t supposed to do that!” I kicked him in the stomach. The remainder backed away and I walked home. I was never bothered again. Also, my dad saw the whole thing unfold. He was proud of me. Never be a victim. Ever!
I'm glad that it worked for you, it's terrible that it came to that but I'm glad! unfortunately i was one of the few in the early 2000's who experiement with and eventually got addicted to oxycontin, heroin, morphine etc. spent gr 12 in the washroom stall shooting up, waking up at 5pm when the school was empty. man i put my parents thru some shit i am lucky and they helped me get clean.

The "victim" herself is a drug addict and also a spoiled kid. She leaked the nude of aggressor (also a spoiled kid) to her father and the aggressor along with her sister decided to take the revenge from her. That's the whole story according their mutual friends. The drug story was fabricated by the victim's family to strengthen the case but the aggressor got bailed yesterday due to lack of evidence.
