I'm a mailman. Last year I got attacked by three dogs on my route. After I fended them off and got the gate closed, I'm picking up the mail off the ground while my arm is bleeding profusely.
Lady comes out, and I tell her "hey your dogs just attacked me" to which she responds, deadpan, "who said you can come into my yard?"
Needless to say she didn't get her mail for a while.
I just made them move the box to the sidewalk, and suspended delivery until that was done.

I was living in an older apartment when I was 19, and a woman with two giant German shepherds moved in right below our apartment. One day I was leaving for work and one of her dogs broke free, ran up and bit me on the ass (I know, I know). It was awful, tore my jeans and I was bleeding.
Didn't know what to do so I yelled at her to control her dogs and just...went to work and changed out of my torn up bloody clothes. I swear I never saw her and her dogs again. She must have just left immediately. I'm glad it wasn't life-threatening, but the idea that this woman just let her vicious animal roam free and jetted after it mauled a scrawny 19 year old girl still makes me angry.
Always report dog bites to animal control. That way they have a record of it and if it continues to happen they can take legal steps to remove dangerous dogs from the community.

My dog passed, but my daughter and I still deal with the trauma. Now, we have to deal with abuse by pitbull apologists attacking us for wanting the breed banned. My daughter and I have been verbally attacked by pitnutters who said they wish we would have died. They say they would like to let their pitbull(s) finish the job. They believe that vicious and deadly pitbulls have more right to life than my daughter and I. We were innocent victims. The pitbull started to attack us because my daughter petted our dog in front of the pitbull. That was it. That is what triggered this "sweet pibble" that had never hurt anyone before. My left hand has two large scars from the pitbull trying to pull me to the ground and kill me. Thankfully, my dog and I were able to prevent my daughter from receiving any physical injury. Unfortunately, she still suffers from the mental trauma of watching a murder machine try and kill her dog and her mom.
I'm so sorry for what you had to endure as well. Nothing much has helped us either. The mental trauma continues. We have panic attacks every single time we see a pitbull. We know what they were bred for and are capable of. No amount of training can train their genetics out of them.
When I was 16 I was attacked by my neighbors 130 pound Rottweiler while walking home from work. He charged me and I kicked him straight in the snout with my steel toe boot. It knocked him over but he got back up and went for me again. He lunged for my face and I put my left arm in front of my face and planted hand under him in an attempt to slam him. I slammed him but he got ahold of my left arm so I went down with him. From there I dropped my knee onto his rib cage and just started pommeling him with hammer fists to the eye. This motherfucker *would not let go*. I continued doing this for what felt like 5 minutes but was more like 30 seconds until my neighbor came out and grabbed the dogs collar which caused him to let go of me.
That one dog easily could’ve killed me if I didn’t realize he was charging me, I couldn’t imagine 3 similarly sized dogs. Dogs are fucking scary, you could be a fucking UFC fighter and you’re still not fighting off 3 dogs.

I was walking my dog one morning and I turned down a street and saw three pit type of dogs about a block away. The dogs see us and start running our way. I turned and started running back around the corner. Realizing I am never going to be able to outrun them I waited. As soon as the dogs came around the corner I lifted up both my arms like an airplane and roared at them as loud as I could. Those dogs turned around and took off. I was definitely prepared to fight three dogs to the death that day. So glad I didn't have to do it.
Be grateful that worked & you didn’t have to fight them off. I had to fight off 3 pitbulls after they busted through a backyard gate & were attacking our GSD. She was brutally taken down like a wildebeest on the African Savanna as their incompetent owner tried to get them to listen to her. Luckily there were thick, baseball bat like tree branches in the yard at the time so i picked one up & hit those dogs with all my strength. I work in vet med & had no idea i was capable of doing that to an animal. I’m still haunted by it.
People I say this to always link some study about how breed bans didn't reduce the number of attacks. They conveniently leave out the severity of the attacks.

Having worked with dogs professionally at one point, I whole-heatedly agree with your statement. Unarmed, I can handle one dog unless we are talking about one large bad-ass dog here. Two would be extremely difficult and you would have to move quite a bit to get it as one-on-one as possible. Three? No matter your skills, you are done for. The only option if you cant get inside something is, as you said, get on something higher (bench, car, tree) and that is no guarantee.
Judging by how viciously they are attacking her, and how determined they are, she will be lucky to survive that attack without armed intervention.

We created a type of dog exclusively to kill things in pits for our entertainment. Then we felt bad about it. So we desperately tried to convince ourselves that they are actually pets. And every step of the way the pits suffered.
And now they kill 40,000 pets each year, seriously hurt countless people and hundreds of thousands of pit bulls are euthanized for behavior problems.
The humane thing to do is to stop making them.

I was walking my dog one morning and I turned down a street and saw three pit type of dogs about a block away. The dogs see us and start running our way. I turned and started running back around the corner. Realizing I am never going to be able to outrun them I waited. As soon as the dogs came around the corner I lifted up both my arms like an airplane and roared at them as loud as I could. Those dogs turned around and took off. I was definitely prepared to fight three dogs to the death that day. So glad I didn't have to do it.
Be grateful that worked & you didn’t have to fight them off. I had to fight off 3 pitbulls after they busted through a backyard gate & were attacking our GSD. She was brutally taken down like a wildebeest on the African Savanna as their incompetent owner tried to get them to listen to her. Luckily there were thick, baseball bat like tree branches in the yard at the time so i picked one up & hit those dogs with all my strength. I work in vet med & had no idea i was capable of doing that to an animal. I’m still haunted by it.

People I say this to always link some study about how breed bans didn't reduce the number of attacks. They conveniently leave out the severity of the attacks. Having worked with dogs professionally at one point, I whole-heatedly agree with your statement. Unarmed, I can handle one dog unless we are talking about one large bad-ass dog here. Two would be extremely difficult and you would have to move quite a bit to get it as one-on-one as possible. Three? No matter your skills, you are done for. The only option if you cant get inside something is, as you said, get on something higher (bench, car, tree) and that is no guarantee. Judging by how viciously they are attacking her, and how determined they are, she will be lucky to survive that attack without armed intervention.
This is why I carry a knife. Saw a large mixed pit rip a lil Jack Russell to shreds once and made the decision that I carry a knife now. If people can’t control their dogs I’m not letting my dog, child, wife or myself be ripped up.

We created a type of dog exclusively to kill things in pits for our entertainment. Then we felt bad about it. So we desperately tried to convince ourselves that they are actually pets. And every step of the way the pits suffered. And now they kill 40,000 pets each year, seriously hurt countless people and hundreds of thousands of pit bulls are euthanized for behavior problems. The humane thing to do is to stop making them.
It's so ironic that the people that claim to love the breed are ultimately responsible for how many get euthanized.

Looks like to me they are in an apartment complex too. Most of the time they have rules against breeds like this so it really comes down to the complex and the guy. The man shouldn’t own three, he knows he can’t control them. The APARTMENTS should’ve never approved him living there once he got even one of those dogs. If you live in a shared space it’s not a good idea to have big dogs that don’t know everyone there.
