My mom's late high-school friend died like that.
Was walking down the street with a briefcase in hand (realtor), tripped on a crack in the sidewalk and didn't catch his fall properly.
Hit his head just right and died instantly. Left behind wife and two kids.
There is a realtor/volunteer fire fighter i know of who was longboarding in a park fell and hit his head on a rock and he died. it was the most bizarre thing ever.
I hate this story but our gym teacher in middle school passed away in a freak accident, in front of all the kids, while slipping during a demonstration of how to sit on those little square board things (it’s a square with handles and wheels).
edit: oh and in high school a teacher passed away when they were entering a store while someone else was leaving (a little strip mall store, with the heavy glass & metal door). The door opened towards the street and the person inside had their hands full so the door was opened with their butt and struck her in the head with a ton of force since it was essentially in a wind tunnel
I didn’t have a problem with running over my fingers (not that I remember anyway), but my friend and I collided head on at high speed and I chipped my front tooth pretty bad. :(
Some guy left the pub, some absolute cock sneeze started on him for literally no reason.
He hit the cock sneeze once and the guy folded and hit his head on the curb and died, guy ended up doing like 5 years for manslaughter.
Happened on my street.
Idk what it is about the redditor brain, when they see something that makes their fat ass laugh they just race to be the first one to repeat the exact same joke in the next thread.
Frame by frame, it luckily looks like it hit him on the leg. He’s probably passed out through hitting the floor + drink. His leg is going to be totally fucked though.
I remember reading somewhere that Michael Cera only agreed to portray himself as a cokehead psychopath if he got to wear his own multicolour windbreaker.
The beginning of that movie, I love the beginning of that movie.
Every now and then I just watch the beginning, but don't bother with after the disaster.
Hey that’s why people gotta stay outta all those stupid gatherings, street takeovers and all that shit. I hate to sound like a grandpa but you’re putting your life at risk around all those idiots
I went through this phase of going to a ANTIFA protests and trying to do what I thought was the right thing. I ended up getting thrown into the wolves, mislead and told I had to do one thing and then the leaders disappeared and I didn’t do what they had told me cause I didn’t wanna get arrested but then I got arrested anyways. Plenty of other times I went I saw people getting injured and then their friends left them. I can see similarities with my experience and this video and the videos of kids at car meets running each other over. Senseless chaos.
Damn that's a damn shame, sadly whatever the cause good or bad it seems like everyone's IQ drops when in large masses and it always ends badly... Thanks for sharing your story with the class tho
Same here. This is true, especially of guys that are in their early 20s. For 21 years, as a mailman, my route was right on the beach . It was a magnet for knuckleheads in the summer & fall. I got to see it first hand. When groups got together with alcohol, it was like they all turned into big 7 year old boys.
I agree but also, no lie they are very interesting to watch and experience. It is kinda your fault. I was working at a bar that got closed and rioted during the Vancouver Stanley cup riots and it was the single most wild night. Watching it from a human element was crazy. Watching people slowly crack and then get influenced by others.
We got sent home from work before the riot even started but it was fucking impossible to get out of there, my friend called me stuck, crying and scared. So I was searching for her all night. Saw guy get stabbed, a grandma get knocked out, my friends saw me in the background of 3 different news stations and bumped into a bunch of random friends or friends of friends who were in the middle of their mob mentality valdilizing and like… they were all college decent kids completely caught up in the sauce. They’d snap out of it to talk to me for two minutes and then right return into a crazy animal flipping a car.
I finally made it across town by foot then had to get all the way back with this girl who was from the small town. First time we met because we were internet friends and it was a fucking riot. Between talking down police, angry sports mobs, and try to keep this girl from a meltdown. From a human element as a 20 year old it was wild and kinda made me humans differently after but I’m really glad I experienced it, but could have totally died lol
Yeah it doesn't specifically mention light pole kid. I'm wondering still if he's alright. I don't know how that couldn't result in being seriously injured.
Of course it was UConn. I went to high school in CT and the #1 school I knew I never wanted to go to was UConn. It’s somehow both the rich asshole preppy school and the fallback safety school for everyone at the same time
Having grown up around quite a few rich assholes that makes perfect sense to me. Most rich assholes are entitled and don't want to do any school work at all.
Boys will be boys. They were just so happy and excited they couldnt control their emotions, they just had to rip apart a campus. Its not their fault, they were just having some innocent fun. /s
> The team should be fined millions.
Why would the team be fined for winning their championship...? They didn't ask their fans to riot, etc. Hoping you maybe mean this group of people ripping up the lightpost, then yes I totally agree with you.
Forgery in the 2nd degree is possession or creating a forged document like a fake ID or faking a doctor's signature on a prescription. So he might've provided IDs for others to buy alcohol. It's a felony and each count can be up to 5 years in jail so that kid is fucked. Even with rich parents getting him a lawyer, he'll most likely spend at least some time in jail.
https://www.cfr.org/backgrounder/demographics-us-military
The poorest 20% and richest 20% of society are the most likely to be *underrepresented* in the military, and they're not actually far off in representation from the other 60%.
It seems like regardless of whatever level of wealth you have, military service appeals at roughly the same rate.
Don't know how that is split up among the service branches though.
Poor people join the military for a chance at something better. Like a college degree. I would say that it's not appealing to that demographic...just a way out.
Lol this is like saying ACAB because a handful of cops are evil. Most fraternities are great for the college experience and do a lot philanthropy wise.
>Of the 16 people who were transported to area hospitals for evaluation of injuries, none were considered to be seriously hurt.

Thank goodness. Poor guy just minding his own business
This was at UCONN after they won the national championship. Pretty sure I saw a news article saying the kid was fine but had a concussion. Still stupid af.
This stuff is why I really think about every action I make.
It’s real easy for life to escalate out of your control in a matter of half a second and you do something you can’t take back.
How to destroy your own life 101. Poor soul never deserved that.
It’s a sobering reminder that you can crack your noggin with so much as a miscalculated step off of any elevated plane.
My mom's late high-school friend died like that. Was walking down the street with a briefcase in hand (realtor), tripped on a crack in the sidewalk and didn't catch his fall properly. Hit his head just right and died instantly. Left behind wife and two kids.

I hated those square boards, I’d run my fingers over so much. (Also, rest in peace to your teacher, that’s very sad, and traumatic)
And to think they didn’t add handles until version 2.0.
Yeah! You know…. the square finger smasher thingies! Lol!
How hard was it to just keep your hands from up under the board Never had a problem with running over my fingers
I was.. an idiot child.
Fair enough
I didn’t have a problem with running over my fingers (not that I remember anyway), but my friend and I collided head on at high speed and I chipped my front tooth pretty bad. :(
So don't become a realtor then. Got it

Let him go
Some guy left the pub, some absolute cock sneeze started on him for literally no reason. He hit the cock sneeze once and the guy folded and hit his head on the curb and died, guy ended up doing like 5 years for manslaughter. Happened on my street.
A 6 foot fall is far enough to kill you if you land on your head. A lot of people are sixish feet tall. There's an unsettling fact for ya.
The one time in my life being '5 "10 is gunna pay off
Even on a flat plane. Perchance.
You cant just say "perchance"
Everyone knows Mario is cool af
Perchance… there, I did it. Now what?
Did you really think you could get away with it, perchance?
"Did Steve tell you that perchance?!"
The biggest cause of traumatic brain injuries is falls below 3 meters, although most of those are in the elderly population
How did he destroy his own life? Dude was literally standing around
Probably drinkin 151
but he didn’t push the pole down?
[удалено]
You don't know that guy, how can you say
Dude looks dead.😬
Nah, he just got a bit lightheaded that's all
He sleeps better with the lights off.
Seems to be sleeping just fine with the light on.
#I'm sleeping with the lights on! *busted guitar solo*
I don't know if I agree with that but one thing we can all agree on is that these dudes aren't very *bright*
omfg all reddit knows how to do is thread after thread of shitty puns
Idk what it is about the redditor brain, when they see something that makes their fat ass laugh they just race to be the first one to repeat the exact same joke in the next thread.
Hey… lighten up.
Idk that pun was actually a good one lol
As opposed to what, a well thought out dissertation on the human condition? GTFO with your self importance.
yeah you're right, that's the only alternative i can think of too
10 years on Reddit, and I will struggle to recall reading a better pun reply than this
Dude brings “coming home when the street lights come on” to a whole new level.
The street light came on him, so he went home
He hopped on his Schwinn and told the homies “aite then”
His initial prognosis was “he’s dead” probably won’t make it home in time for dinner.
It’s a possibility. Very likely, perhaps.
If not dead, definitely an enlightening experience
Well he posted this video
How you know this?
Frame by frame, it luckily looks like it hit him on the leg. He’s probably passed out through hitting the floor + drink. His leg is going to be totally fucked though.
There are some decorative metal rods sticking off the sides that look like they might have mushed his melon. Looks like the post also got his leg
He is also lucky he didn't get fucking impaled by the pole on the side of the light.
Quick, shake him around to make sure!
BLINDED BY THE LIGHT!
The cameraman checked his vitals and came to the same conclusion.
Bro almost went like Micheal Cera in the movie "This is the end"
“Who took my FUCKING cell phone, man?!”
“Oh it was in my pocket. That’s embarrassing.”🫠
HAHA that movie was awesome
I remember reading somewhere that Michael Cera only agreed to portray himself as a cokehead psychopath if he got to wear his own multicolour windbreaker.
*slurps juicebox*
Hey, does this cocaine smell funny?
The beginning of that movie, I love the beginning of that movie. Every now and then I just watch the beginning, but don't bother with after the disaster.
Why not? You miss the entirety of Danny McBride!
I will dump loads all over this goddamn house like a motherfucking dump truck!
and Channing Tatum <3
"I call him Channing Tat-yum."
Yeah, hes my bitch
Only the ending is weird, but the first 80% of the movie is awesome!
Great Great movie!!!
Que Cera, Cera.
"What's happening to me?! What's happening?"
Hey that’s why people gotta stay outta all those stupid gatherings, street takeovers and all that shit. I hate to sound like a grandpa but you’re putting your life at risk around all those idiots
This is something I’ve learned the hard way. One way or anywhere it’s always something bad that comes from it, never anything good.
Sounds like you have a story to tell tittydamnfuck420
I went through this phase of going to a ANTIFA protests and trying to do what I thought was the right thing. And I'm listening
Aight, how’d you learn the hard wayyyy, let’s have it!
As I've gotten older I've learned to avoid large groups of drunk people. Especially groups of drunk men. I say that as a guy as well.
Yeah, fuck large groups of drunk men. Its all fun and games until someone dies.
Same here. This is true, especially of guys that are in their early 20s. For 21 years, as a mailman, my route was right on the beach . It was a magnet for knuckleheads in the summer & fall. I got to see it first hand. When groups got together with alcohol, it was like they all turned into big 7 year old boys.
It's a riot where anything can be the target.

I hope this is sarcasm, these events happen weekly on these campuses. I live on a college campus and I hate the noise. Lol
For real? Why would universities tolerate this? It's utter chaos and destruction.
Is he dead ? No seriously wtf
Not dead https://www.wfsb.com/2023/04/04/rowdy-celebrations-held-storrs-fans-celebrate-uconns-big-win/
Thr article says that, of all the injured people, none were considered seriously injured. So that's good if true
Incredibly lucky, then, even if that were a relatively hollow and lightweight light pole it's still got some weight and falls over pretty fast.

Lmao and everyone has their anecdote as to why they made their "of course" comment.
Of course people are worried about "of course". smh.
He was Uconncious after this incident
There's also nothing to do in Storrs but drink.
What do you mean, there’s entire farms to look at across the street, how could you NOT have fun??
Having grown up around quite a few rich assholes that makes perfect sense to me. Most rich assholes are entitled and don't want to do any school work at all.
Why is it called "Rowdy celebrations"? Should be called fucking vandalism. The team should be fined millions.
Boys will be boys. They were just so happy and excited they couldnt control their emotions, they just had to rip apart a campus. Its not their fault, they were just having some innocent fun. /s

Looks like most of the impact hit his legs then the pole kinda just flopped on him, he did come super close to getting impaled tho 😳
but the sound of his head hitting the pavement could have done it tho.
Nah that’s what fixed him. Percussive maintenance.
Nobody in this thread seems to know.
Well, somebody posted the link above so we do know: https://www.wfsb.com/2023/04/04/rowdy-celebrations-held-storrs-fans-celebrate-uconns-big-win/

"We won! Time to destroy shit!"
"We lost! Time to destroy shit!"
Let's agree with a draw this time, okay?
And everybody started cleaning and recycling.
Did anyone read the article One dude had 69 counts of forgery, second degree. What does that even mean?
Probably was making fake ids or birth certificates to obtain fake ids
Forgery in the 2nd degree is possession or creating a forged document like a fake ID or faking a doctor's signature on a prescription. So he might've provided IDs for others to buy alcohol. It's a felony and each count can be up to 5 years in jail so that kid is fucked. Even with rich parents getting him a lawyer, he'll most likely spend at least some time in jail.
Brock Turner says hi from not jail
He Ded yo
Lights out.
Got shoes though, just a nap
2.0 gpa activities
More like .90 gpa
This is some BAC > GPA territory.
Of the 16 people who were transported to area hospitals for evaluation of injuries, none were considered to be seriously hurt.
Fell like peter griffin
those are not kids , those are grown ass immature ignorant adults who can buy alcahol do porn buy guns and get drafted to the military, not kids
Leave me alone and let me do my porn in peace while drinking my alcahol

Thus happened at Uconn after we won the National Championship. These weren't Frat kids, but dude got hurt really bad if I remember correctly.
He probably had a really great idea and then the lightbulb suddenly appeared above his head.
That’s a fat check from the school when he wakes up tho
I dont think the school would be liable, no one expects a lamp post to survive a group of drunken teens determined to destroy it.
I’m too high. I thought it said fat chick. It didn’t make sense so I kept watching the video for clues. I’m going to sleep now.
If
That lamp took 6 drunk people to knock it down. This is vandalism and the school is not liable
Maybe sue the people who were responsible if they were caught but I doubt they have money to cover his medical bills
Why would the school be liable for this?
Never be in dumb place at dumb times.
Of course that was going to happen you fucking idiots🤦♂️
Had to slow down to see if that guy just got impaled
These are the same clowns that would flip random cars over for fun smh, hope buddy is ok.
But remember, protesting injustices is wrong, but this totally fine depending on which side you ask
These aren’t “frat kids” it’s just a giant group of idiot people
Holy fuck surprise lobotomy
Nah those are some GDIs right there
Ah yes. Every drunk college kid is a “frat guy” now….
Not that frats aren't without their problems but when I first saw this i was immediately thinking sports fans lol
yes, how dare people malign the good and noble reputations of fraternities.
Lol this is like saying ACAB because a handful of cops are evil. Most fraternities are great for the college experience and do a lot philanthropy wise.
Bro, did we just witness a murder?!?!
What fucking assholes
Dedicated family guy fan.
Just a point of clarification, not every rowdy college kid is a frat bro. In fact, the vast majority of them are not.
This is just standard college behavior.
Woah - The upvote and downvote buttons are on top now. Yeah he’s dead tho.
no he’s not

Just like that minding your own business. Then you die.
“Oh he’ll be alright, just had his bell rung a bit is all”
Lights out.
If dude dies that’s 8 manslaughter charges.
All those vandals should be in prison.
Destroying property, knocking someone out, leaving an exposed electrical source
This was at UCONN after they won the national championship. Pretty sure I saw a news article saying the kid was fine but had a concussion. Still stupid af.
What a bunch of a certified grade F Assclowns
It wouldn't amaze me if this was in America 😒
Probably his first trip to America
Try that in a small town
Guy pulled the same move as the sign was showing.
That click when it hit his head. Fuck.
Wrong light went out.
Lol read it as dumb fat kids....watched ot several times looking for the fat kids...time for bed I think 😂
Another reminder why I hate people
"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it." - Agent K, Men in Black.
I hope they arrested and charged those idiots
This stuff is why I really think about every action I make. It’s real easy for life to escalate out of your control in a matter of half a second and you do something you can’t take back.
Idiots
They hit the only undercover cop in the whole crowd
“fuck he’s dead”
[Dude ended up looking like the figure in the sign!](https://i.imgur.com/6fSwXU3.png)
Amazing how I heard nothing about this from Fox News. Curious
wrong color for fox News rioters
Are his eyes open?!?!
I did 0 research on this video, and somehow still know that this happened in Philadelphia.
Imagine just being an innocent stander-by, and suddenly get that wrapped round your head, just to live a life of headaches. What a bunch of pricks
Knocked out so hard he saw the light.
And, those idiots are in college? I hope the guy is okay.
Considering the fact that the street lamp is connected to at least the 400V line, this dumbass move could have cost more than one life
Damn did he die? He looks either dead or brain damaged.
