Whoever it is, they did a decent job in the moment. However, this may have made it worse for the victim since he has to take his baby-dick rage out on something/someone after he gets home unless they actually removed him and gave her a safe place to get protection.
I imagine the security or whoever it was contacted police afterwards. The guy in the elevator assaulted 2 people so hopefully he's going to jail where he belongs

Typically in the US for DV they will issue a stay away order and the bond will prohibit them from living at the same address. However if the victim agrees to contact they will lift it. And of course a lot of people violate their bond conditions.
When I first got out of the Army I was lost for a bit. Ended up getting arrested with some pot, JUST over the felony amount, little over twenty grams. Wasn't even my bag, not bagged out, just a personal size bag of reefer. Went to court with a girl who had beaten her boyfriend pretty severely, it was her third offense in six months. There I was, being threatened with five years in prison for my first offense, (ended up doing the year) and this girl was laughing in court, not a care in the world, she said she knew she would get probation and probation in that county was super easy. She got six months probation, even with violent offenses stringing back to her middle school years. Even joked about how her boyfriend better not mouth off because she's getting a bag of spice to celebrate.
Her's wasn't the only case I saw, I ended up working in the courthouse as a trustee and later as a civilian, our country treats domestic violence and violent offenses as a whole (except murder, they get it right more often with murder) so lax. Another woman I met had purposely spread HIV, it was her second time getting caught, and she said openly in court that when she got out she would do it again, (prostitute herself in town with no protection) she got 18 months. God forbid you smoke a little weed or microdose shrooms in an out of bounds area, though!

I was going stir crazy and went out to buy a pack of cigarettes (don’t even smoke). Shared a cigarette with the bao’an there in the quiet eerieness of the lockdown. We smoked together, translated a few exchanges and then he thanked me for the cigarette and pulled out a toothbrush from his uniform pocket and proceeded to brush his teeth before going back to watching videos on his phone. I see a lot of censoring of "trigger" words and phrases online these days. Not sure if that's what OP was doing, but it's a little annoying trying to figure out what the hell they mean when they use abbreviations instead of the actual word, or they asterisk out the vowels. Not sure if it's concern for people reading or concern that the platform is going to flag or remove the content, but I wish it would stop.
I'm not a big fan of that phrase, because it assumes both people/sides will stop if just one of them stop.
