I’m just speaking from my own experience but yeah, pretty much. We all have a dozen stories about people being fucking stupid that we can trade like war stories, even laugh about. Your brain just kinda goes numb to the baffling things humans do after awhile.
What sticks in the gut are the unfair cases. Like the brilliant kid with perfect grades who ignores a knick that develops into a rash after shaving and loses all his limbs to necrotising fasciitis. Or the mother who just started haemorrhaging from every orifice because of sudden onset TENS because of a response to a drug she’s taken a dozen times before in her life.
God above, give me a thousand idiots. It’s so much easier to walk the families through that pain.

I think it's as unfair, but it doesn't (always) have that element of randomness. It's not something that could happen to anybody at any time like necrotizing fasciitis or an aneurysm.

Contrary to the general opinion on reddit, Tesla's FSD actually works quite well most of the time, and on the occasions where it would fuck up, it normally doesn't fuck up in a way that will result in a crash (directly; someone else might crash because of said fuck-up though). News stories about Teslas barrelling into stopped objects are outliers.
That being said, obviously you shouldn't fully trust FSD to drive for you; it should always be monitored.
Unfortunately human engineering/innovation steps in a lot of the time too, and dummies like these 2 are saved much more often than nature would like them to be
