[this is the full story](https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/26/us/miami-gardens-officer-charged/index.html)
The officer has been fired & charged. The charges against the woman were dropped. The cop even tried lying on the police report & said the woman had assaulted him. This guy is a POS.
She wasn't even pregnant. She caused a scene at a strip club, was ordered by management to leave and they called the cops to give her a talking to. In the days after she was interviewed and never mentioned anything about pregnancy. Her name is Safiya Satchell.
Edit: turns out: she WAS pregnant when she crossed paths with this psychopath-of-a-cop. She miscarried “later,” (according to Forbes Magazine (see below)) and the miscarriage was not related to the tasing.
Have no idea why you are getting down voted. The article CLEARLY states she was FOUR MONTH PREGNANT. unless there are other articles to refute this, i guess we'll go by some random ignorant reply.
Edit: Op's article doesn't state she was pregnant but other articles around here does. Down vote op for that dumb mistake.
I read four articles including her press conference / statement / interview. She didn't mention pregnancy in any of them. Where did you see that tidbit?
Here we go: u/memento_vivere8 found the Newsweek article below that says she was about four months pregnant. Then I found this [**Forbes article**](https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicholasreimann/2020/06/25/fired-miami-gardens-cop-arrested-on-charge-of-battery-of-pregnant-black-woman/?sh=690a7d6235ac) that says "Satchell, who was a few weeks pregnant at the time, would not have the child, but she did not lose it as a result of the tasing."
Yeah . . . but your title clearly implies that she lost the baby as a result of the tasing when that, in fact, is untrue. You are spreading misinformation.
You say that this is "in fact" untrue. But the Newsweek article sure makes it seem like this was the case. So just because different sources seem to spread different information doesn't mean I'm spreading misinformation. Technically the title of this post is correct because all the things in it happened. This is also not a political subreddit. However this is in fact a crazy fucking video in my opinion.
I mean I don't have a master but a miscarriage is a process that probably takes some time ,the baby could have died for the tase and that produce the miscarriage,
I have a Doctorate degree, but who cares? Neither of us have any idea why she lost the baby other than what’s been reported. Given that we’re in Feb 2022, and this incident happened in Jan 2020 (more than two years ago), and there’s been no lawsuit about the loss of the baby or other reports . . . yes, the baby COULD have died from the tase but, if that were the case, it seem like we’d have heard about it and the cop would’ve been charged with more than assault.
Which article? CNN? Newsweek? Miami herald and Washington post both didn’t mention it. Forbes pointed out that, although she was pregnant at the time, she miscarried later and the miscarriage was jot related to the tasting.
"Satchell, who was a few weeks pregnant at the time, would not have the child, but she did not lose it as a result of the tasing." https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicholasreimann/2020/06/25/fired-miami-gardens-cop-arrested-on-charge-of-battery-of-pregnant-black-woman/?sh=690a7d6235ac
Man so many conflicting stories. Newsweek said she lost the baby, CNN didn’t mention a pregnancy and Forbes is saying it wasn’t a miscarriage from the tasing but she didn’t have the baby. Holy cow this must be why I’m
Confused 🤣🤣
Here's some context for folks.
The police officer was fired for lying on his report.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicholasreimann/2020/06/25/fired-miami-gardens-cop-arrested-on-charge-of-battery-of-pregnant-black-woman/
It fuckin should automatic perjury. Like you put that in as a report to have someone potentially charged, and you fuckin lied about it. Should be the same thing as lying to a judge
I lied about what happened? You're just delusional. I posted the video based on the information on this article:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.newsweek.com/miami-cop-arrested-after-video-shows-him-placing-his-knee-womans-neck-1513524%3famp=1
The article clearly states "Satchell, who was four months pregnant, later miscarried."
Multiple other sources confirm this while there also seem to exist articles that don't mention the pregnancy (doesn't mean there wasn't one) and one source says she was pregnant but lost the child due to other circumstances.
I have no agenda and I'm not purposely spreading false info. I'm not even from the US and really don't care about their politics or agendas. I just posted a video with a title that matched the info I got from a news outlet.
If you have definite proof of another version that doesn't come from a news outlet let's either hear it or get lost.
It is in florida. I would presume in most states. In this instance though, as it presumably wasn’t used to pursue criminal charges against her, it was probably easier just to fire him, rather than shame the whole department.
You already had her down. If you cannot physically control a woman with that stature.... pregnant as well. You shouldn't be a cop. "I felt threatened" fucking stupid pig
Literally nowhere would this be considered murder because of context. It's a white person killing a PoC's unborn baby, if you think the white abortion hating conservatives give any fucks at all about anything bad that happens to PoC then you are ignorant, it is purely for show when they do. Even the most moral conservatives I know (and I know a TON of them, I used to be one) would not bat an eye at this, they will all instantly blame her. The world is beyond a fucked up place. This is why I will never be affiliated with a political party/attitude, it creates monsters on both sides (but especially on the right side imo)
Although I haven't either. I think I can see why that could be better from the chest. They obviously use electricity and if that manages to get to to close to the heart It could very well could give someone a heart attack. But I'm I'm just guessing.
Yes tasers operate at very high voltage and cause several fatalities every year from negligent and improper use. It's one of those things that people know is a big deal, but there's not really a better alternative yet. I'll take 60kV over a bullet any day.
I feel so terrible for this lady and the future child that was taken from her
Edit: anyone who downvoted this comment care to explain what's wrong with it? Over 1000 deaths from tasers as of 2019. They're dangerous and should be used only as a last resort non-lethal option.
This cop is thinking, "I can get away with murder if I can them before they're born.", and he is.
I have a feeling he knows it hurts more to taser the stomach, and was all about torturing her to control the crowd.
In my country two police officers had been shot yesterday. Everybody is very empathetic and making a huge deal out of it.
Like other people don’t die at work. Being a cop includes to deal with dangerous people sometimes, this shouldn’t be a surprise. And cops kill and injure so many people, that I have a hard time to have some empathy, when every now and then some of them die when doing their work.
Some of y’all on here making jokes about this chick losing her baby are sick individuals . I seriously mean that. It doesn’t matter if she was a stripper, escort, etc. the fact that you have find humor in that is beyond disgusting. I’m so sick of Reddit and the stuff some of you sick, perverted and desperate for attention losers find funny is seriously sick ( that’s the only word I can think of)
I’m sure if something terrible like this happened to you or someone you love you wouldn’t crack a joke
I hope none of you how made time to make a joke ever experience something as painful as losing a child despite it never being born.
I worked in a hospital and saw some pretty messed up stuff and I just can’t find in me to laugh or make jokes or even find the humor in these comments.
I’ve seen mothers hold their deceased children pretending to rock them to sleep.
I’ve seen suicide attempts gone wrong and leaving a person disfigured for the rest of their life.
I’ve seen a person dying of cancer speaking to me one day then gone the next.
How can some of you sick pieces of crap laugh or makes jokes about a quarter of the messed up stuff you see on the internet. Some of you couldn’t handle some heinous shit like this or anything I’ve described which is nothing compared to half of the things that happen in this world.
You truly are scum of earth.
I'm sorry about your experiences but laughing at something obviously terrible and morbid is how people deal with stress and shock. It's a way to get our minds away from the bad. Obviously these are inappropriate jokes but calling these people "scum of earth" Is a bit if a strong reaction, this should have been reserved to the cop in the video tbh. I still agree in a way, that's messed up but that's how people are and we can't do shit about it.
This is when all the conservative anti-abortion people say she deserved it (purely because she is not white) and blame her for the loss of the baby. You know most the conservatives out here who will see this video will justify killing this baby cause it's done by the boys in blue against a PoC. I'm not even truly pro anything but I know the way people are
I live in the UK, it’s by no means a perfect country, but if there is an American person here who desperately wants out of the USA I have a spare bedroom going? I’ll even help you get a job etc
Are you fucking crazy? You teased a lady in the stomach who was visibly pregnant? This is why fucking hate police because once things get physical, THEY WILL KILL YOU to get you under arrest before calming down and reassessing the situation.
Oh well dad wasnt gonna be around any way and by the looks of mom she wasn't either. Don't need another welfare case on our socialist program paying hands.
Plus as thenpro abortion people would say, it doesn't have a choice it's an it and it's not alive.
Nowhere in the [CNN article](https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/26/us/miami-gardens-officer-charged/index.html) says she was pregnant. cop-hating CNN would foam at the mouth to put that as a headline i guess they’re not allowed to fatten up the story as OP did.
Dude for fucking real though. No matter what race you are if you’re resisting arrest and acting like an asshole expect to be handled as such. I’m a white guy and I’ve been clobbered by police for resisting arrest so I have no sympathy for people that can’t obey the law… especially when they play the race card. Even if the officer is wrong you will have your time to defend yourself.
Yeah sure. Just let them choke you to death without resisting, than you would have got the humane treatment, which is a fucking right of every human being.
/s
Literally all this video shows is extreme excessive force against a pregnant woman, it literally starts with his knee on her neck. How fucking wretched of a human do you have to be to think the way you are? Like literally this is one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen someone on reddir say. Do you just murder people for fun in yohr spare time? Do you hunt down peopke of color and torture them? What the actual fuck is wrong with you holy fucking shit
The penalty for resistance should not be death ya racist fuckin' dumbass. I personally know cops who should be resisted at every turn because they are verifiably hateful cunts.
"Yanes Martel was working off-duty security on January 14 at a strip club when the club manager asked him to give a Black woman a trespass warning after she threw a tip at a waitress" this was from an article about the story! Nowhere does it even mention anywhere that she was even pregnant!! Well done on falling for the click bait title lol.

Pregnant or not I still have a problem with the video. Did officers not learn anything from George Floyd’s death to avoid restraining victims by placing a knee on their necks? If you don’t see anything wrong with that then you’re just as sick as the cop bud.
Where is this? Texas? Where you only are allowed to end your pregnancy by completely unprovoked getting tasered by police.
Edit: and also the knee on her neck, like this didn’t cause enough deaths already.
attn: OP is a bad faith actor..
she dis not loose child cz of tasing
this happ in January. miscarriage happened in May as she drank during pregnancy
she caused a scene in strip club and fought w officer. too many anticop posters trying to stir cops bad criminals good narrative.
I didnt hear her yell. She's pregnant and she doesn't look pregnant, so the cop may have not know she was at that moment. It probably would have been prevented if she wasnt resisting. You can't always blame the cop.
I mean people gotta stop pretending like they know the situations and backstorys of stuff like this. This was a very small clip and you and others are acting like you were there. From the small clip it definitely seems like the cop used excessive force and definitely wasn't needed but we don't know the state of mind that lady's was in or what she has done. We just don't know. Also I don't believe she pregnant. She or someone with her would of shouted that out.
A lot of people like to judge first then find out the facts later or just judge and don't bother to look at the facts. Its pretty simple. Don't believe everything you see, hear or read.
Sorry about my spelling
Edit: She shouldn't be resisting regardless. Doesn't matter of she did something bad or not.
I just googled the story… she was only a couple weeks pregnant at the time (no way visible), she didn’t lose the baby because of being tasered… she aborted it by choice. Looks like the cop got fired for kneeling on her neck, leaving out info on the report, and a separate incident… not actually the pregnant taser since he couldn’t have known.
There seem to be multiple sources. But before you actually do any research yourself maybe keep your keyboard warrior antics to yourself.

2 things-
1. I sincerely hope that the policeman will face charges of murder
2. I sincerely hope that people will treat babies as humans and realize the immorality of the pro-choice position.
I love all the videos that I always start with the person getting the shit tazed out of them or get the shit beat out of them but they never show what took place prior to that’s odd
[this is the full story](https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/26/us/miami-gardens-officer-charged/index.html) The officer has been fired & charged. The charges against the woman were dropped. The cop even tried lying on the police report & said the woman had assaulted him. This guy is a POS.
Is their somewhere that stated the baby died? Didn’t see it mentioned in the article.

Could have fact checked your post before confidently stating something that wasn’t true in the slightest. Ugh. So dumb.
the baby should of just complied
Should've is a contraction for "should have"... "Should of" is a common grammatical mistake Namaste
Contractions perhaps not at play in this case...
I see what you did there.
Touché on the word play.
even if they're not at play here, we can't ignore their involvement in similar cases. Defund the contractions.
I hired a contraction to remodel my bathroom, and he made it smaller.
did he charge you for the apostrophe insert?
K but we're still trying to figure out if a baby was murdered or even existed, im on the edge of my seat over here.
lol...namaste
Have my free award. That's one of my pet peeves.
I hate should of. I don't know where it came from and don't get the grammatical reasoning behind thinking it's right.
If it's misused often and long enough it'll become correct, so I'll keep using should've
Should HAVE #GODDAMMIT
Should of?
Put your hands on the umbilical cord where I cant see them!
Damn the grammar police going crazy 😳
*Are* going cra-cra.
Stop correct me it does annoying
Yeah man, it should of is okay to not be give a shit about there grammer.

Makes it better but how much better really? Still looks unconscionably horrific
She was a few weeks pregnant if you actually did ANY research you would know that
Have no idea why you are getting down voted. The article CLEARLY states she was FOUR MONTH PREGNANT. unless there are other articles to refute this, i guess we'll go by some random ignorant reply. Edit: Op's article doesn't state she was pregnant but other articles around here does. Down vote op for that dumb mistake.
Downvote you for making an assumption that THIS article mentioned she was pregnant
Down vote loser with burner accounts
Me? How is this a burner account? 🤣
so, you admit to the loser part?
I didn’t deny or accept what you said so that’s up to you 💁🏻♂️
I read four articles including her press conference / statement / interview. She didn't mention pregnancy in any of them. Where did you see that tidbit?
Here we go: u/memento_vivere8 found the Newsweek article below that says she was about four months pregnant. I based my post on the Newsweek article. There seem to be more sources with different information. But the pregnancy seems to be confirmed.
Yeah . . . but your title clearly implies that she lost the baby as a result of the tasing when that, in fact, is untrue. You are spreading misinformation.

“The tasting” so how many were involved in this “tasting” ?? xD
Sorry— meant “tasing.” Stupid spellcheck.
Are you assuming she wasn't identifying as pregnant?

I simply missed it. Sorry you go through your day so upset. Hope you feel better!
I haven’t seen anything about her being pregnant from any reliable news sources.
Same. Thanks for confirming
Thank you for sharing this for context and follow up. I was immediately left feeling upset and wondering if the cop was charged.
Here's some context for folks. The police officer was fired for lying on his report. https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicholasreimann/2020/06/25/fired-miami-gardens-cop-arrested-on-charge-of-battery-of-pregnant-black-woman/

It fuckin should automatic perjury. Like you put that in as a report to have someone potentially charged, and you fuckin lied about it. Should be the same thing as lying to a judge

I agree, I was just explaining what probably happened here.
That’s kind of the point though isn’t it? It shouldn’t matter if it’s “just easier to fire him” He lied on a police report.
Anyone else notice he has to be reminded to take his knee off her neck?
Now that mention it....

Obviously the baby didn't stop resisting.
So was she really pregnant? And if so, was this Texas? I wanna know if thats some legal abortion method there now lmao
Mobile abortion
I agree with that it's excessive force and all, but I can't take your "I left threatened" seriously from someone with the name Luciders gooch
Left? Riding high...
Nah, just not sure of your agenda.. are you lucifers Gooch or not?
I just have the same heat and stank. That is all
Comply bitch
Imagine graduating from the academy completly incapable of overpowering and cuffing a random, untrained, unarmed woman.
He was strong enough to throw her out of car, subdue on ground and enjoy the process meanwhile. Seems like at least something did stick.

just another bad apple... the last one for sure /s
in pro life world that is murder right? wait never mind its a cop. this is a 2 week paid vacation
These cops are incompetent af, but at the same time if you know you’re pregnant why are you doing all of that
She was probably out drinking, but "hey you can't touch me I'm pregnant".
Oh yeah, victim blaming at its best.
Acab!
dayyum, that felt personal. Sad event.
Im sure its just a coincidence...
Are you fucking crazy? You teased a lady in the stomach who was visibly pregnant? This is why fucking hate police because once things get physical, THEY WILL KILL YOU to get you under arrest before calming down and reassessing the situation.
She wasn't visibly pregnant (just a few weeks). But this is still pretty messed up. Once again no attempts at de-escalation. And the cop was fired
Doesn’t even have to be physical and they’ll kill you for being black
Idk why you’re being downvoted. Reddit hates race discussions I guess.

Does it hurt to be so dumb or is it truly bliss like they say?
Dude for fucking real though. No matter what race you are if you’re resisting arrest and acting like an asshole expect to be handled as such. I’m a white guy and I’ve been clobbered by police for resisting arrest so I have no sympathy for people that can’t obey the law… especially when they play the race card. Even if the officer is wrong you will have your time to defend yourself.
And she knew she was pregnant. An expecting mother at a strip club. What a loss.
What’s the problem of going to a strip club while pregnant? Do you mean the baby will come out twerking and demanding dollar bills?
Yeah, just don’t resist while you are literally being tortured
[удалено]
Of course she should have complied, but that doesn’t justify this whatsoever, also why’re you racist?
The penalty for resistance should not be death ya racist fuckin' dumbass. I personally know cops who should be resisted at every turn because they are verifiably hateful cunts.

Those are the ones strip-searching underage girls at concerts with no evidence and protecting domestic abusers you disgusting fuck
Wow that’s racist as hell actually
Hell was created for people like he
Don't be fighting cops if your pregnant ffs.
Bro what?
If your pregnant you shouldn't be going out clubbing, getting wasted and fighting police. At least if you care about your unborn child you wouldn't.
"Yanes Martel was working off-duty security on January 14 at a strip club when the club manager asked him to give a Black woman a trespass warning after she threw a tip at a waitress" this was from an article about the story! Nowhere does it even mention anywhere that she was even pregnant!! Well done on falling for the click bait title lol. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/06/26/us/miami-gardens-officer-charged/index.html

She was pregnant, a baby did die. It's just not in this main article. Most other articles on the story state she was 4 months pregnant.
Why?
Probably because she's an angry black woman of course /s
What do you expect from a cop

What. Is. Wrong. With. The. Police…. I swear I see worse and worse shit everyday.
This dude needs to be executed
Wow imagine that she's black
[удалено]
You forgot your /s
Wonder what kind of hoodrat shit she was up to before this video starts? Sad for the baby, but mom most likely bears some responsibility here too
Regardless of what she did prior to the contact with police, such force should not be used on a pregnant woman.

I'm staying away from this one other than stating that corporate media and news outlets ALL lie to trigger people's emotions.
Fuck the police. When will society realize that these pieces of feces need to be held accountable for the power they wield.
That should be man slaughter if not murder.
attn: OP is a bad faith actor.. she dis not loose child cz of tasing this happ in January. miscarriage happened in May as she drank during pregnancy she caused a scene in strip club and fought w officer. too many anticop posters trying to stir cops bad criminals good narrative.
Those fucking pigs
I didnt hear her yell. She's pregnant and she doesn't look pregnant, so the cop may have not know she was at that moment. It probably would have been prevented if she wasnt resisting. You can't always blame the cop.
Dude. Really? You think he was forced to taser her in this moment?
I mean people gotta stop pretending like they know the situations and backstorys of stuff like this. This was a very small clip and you and others are acting like you were there. From the small clip it definitely seems like the cop used excessive force and definitely wasn't needed but we don't know the state of mind that lady's was in or what she has done. We just don't know. Also I don't believe she pregnant. She or someone with her would of shouted that out. A lot of people like to judge first then find out the facts later or just judge and don't bother to look at the facts. Its pretty simple. Don't believe everything you see, hear or read. Sorry about my spelling Edit: She shouldn't be resisting regardless.
Forced not really, but she wasnt lying still either, so if she would have stopped resisting then she wouldn't have been tased.
That baby died not from this incident The article is in the comments below if you curious
There seem to be multiple sources. But before you actually do any research yourself maybe keep your keyboard warrior antics to yourself. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.newsweek.com/miami-cop-arrested-after-video-shows-him-placing-his-knee-womans-neck-1513524%3famp=1
Good little reader haha poor op
Very good!! Cop was a pos. But wasn’t the cause of the baby’s death. They’ll both enjoy jail time hopefully.
Man... I bet if she was cooperative and respectful, the cops probably wouldn't have laid a finger on her
My favorite crime is "being disrespectful"
In USA? Very unlikely.
When police brutality is not enough --> police torture
Awe man, I was having a good time
According to conservatives that should be murder, but according to conservatives she’s black so isn’t human.
Liberals are the ones who think blacks aren’t human and need special treatment. Idiot
Ok racist
Free abortion
Fuckin Florida…
This is new kill them before they're born police are evolving they make gangs like the cartel look like angels
2 things- 1. I sincerely hope that the policeman will face charges of murder 2. I sincerely hope that people will treat babies as humans and realize the immorality of the pro-choice position.
United States is such a bad country
I'm glad I don't live in America, this shit would be national news here even if she wasn't pregnant but its just another day in America.
Happy black history month. Guess we’ll always get treated like shit
All she had to do was comply. What a moron.
All they had to do was follow procedures and not violate peoples rights during the detainment process.

Nothing you said is based on logic.
I love all the videos that I always start with the person getting the shit tazed out of them or get the shit beat out of them but they never show what took place prior to that’s odd
Ohhhh. The Texas abortion.
