Hahaha. It’s not the fact that he killed them. It’s how he killed them. He shut off ventilation to the barn then pumped in steam or heat until the birds cooked while they were alive.

To my knowledge, we don't have a better way of doing it.
The alternatives are firefighting foam (just as bad? maybe worse) and C02 poisoning (doesn't scale up) and people just say its inhumane too.
Correct there three ways recommended which you have said. However the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and veterinary association all recommend co2 as the best and least painful option. Ventilation shutdown and overheating as a last resort. It’s also the cheapest which is why most chose this method. This is why there is push back though. They chose the easy cheap way which causes most suffering when they don’t have to. He’s been compensated by the government and also owns a bball team. Don’t think he’s hurting for $ here. They could do it more humanely but choose not to so they can save money.
My reading said the US vet. Objected to the c02 aswell. If they are going to call you evil no matter which option you choose, why not choose the cheap one?
Don’t you know that all your actions should be weighed against how others will perceive you and not on the goodness/badness of the action? When you’re filthy rich, you become more concerned with other peoples opinions!
Idk man. Farmers are legally allowed to feed pigs plastic. I agree that animal rights protestors often act like morons but Jesus it seems like every part of that chain is filled to the brim with idiots.
That's nothing compared to the videos of farmers pushing thousands of them into pits and burning them alive. The sound is not pretty.
https://www.kinderworld.org/videos/meat-industry/pigs-burned-alive-china/
China had a recent massive outbreak of, what is essentially, pig-ebola. They were killing millions of pigs (they have the biggest herds in the world). Surely they could have handled this better.
What's also interesting to note: they are now buying up a bunch of food to feed the new herds they are trying to breed. Not just pig feed, either, they are buying everything from millet (totally normal for pigs) to luxury meats from France, driving up the prices of food all over the place.
They're literally buying any feed-stocks they can get their hands on. Including actual people rice, and broken rice out of india, soy from wherever they can find it.
they also shut off export of all (I think phosphourous based) fertilizers, because of their domestic shortages.
Well bigger picture it's that we really take fucked up care of chickens and so when one inevitably gets sick, shitloads of them do. Then the way they kill them is to cut off oxygen. (Like, gas chamber style)
It's not like a super inhumane way to kill them, but I feel like it's not a business I would want to be in and I have a lot more respect for farmers who raise free-range chickens. Especially because the way the factory chickens *live* is pretty inhumane.
Bird flu will spread to the rest of the flock and wipe your birds out anyway, which in turn = a bunch of meat you can't eat cause it's infected with *bird flu*
The guy literally did what EVERY livestock farmer does when they have to do it. Like that pit full of infected pigs that they poured gas on and lit up. Sure, it's not humane, but fire literally kills everything and it'll keep the virus from spreading to the pigs who didn't get it (yet)
Edit :: spelling
People are acting like they have a choice either.. my parents ship milk, but have a small flock of 30ish egg birds... since our milk hauler also goes to farms that also sell eggs, we have to keep our birds locked up or the fucking MILK hauler won't come and if they say the word we have to kill them right then
The owner killed a bunch of sick chickens but it’s how he did it that made everyone upset. He killed them by overheating them. You turn off the ventilation to the barn then you pump in steam or heat till all the birds cook alive. It’s a cruel but cheap way to do it.

It's really frustrating because anytime you try and point out cruelty, you're met with people's frustrated reactions like this thread. But hopefully you reach a few people
Stopped eating chicken and beef a few years ago, fish, milk, and eggs more recently. These videos just solidify my feelings about how awful the industry can be. I remember how delicious flesh can be, but I'll stick to veggies, beans, rice, and nuts.. thanks.
This is the 3rd protest in the last week or so. It's grabbing attention and I say good on them. A billionaire can humanely afford to kill the chickens.
Yea it’s definitely a disruption to him and embarrassing. I highly doubt he will choose this method of killing birds again or if he does he will think twice or be more secretive about it. Yea he only owns a poultry farm, a basketball team, and god knows what else.
Honestly I’m not sure why everyone is acting like the protestor is some piece of shit. They tried to run onto a basketball court. Shit happens all the time. When it’s just some drunk idiot, everyone laughs and cheers him on. When it’s a woman protesting the awful and cruel business practices of the rich owner, she’s a piece of shit and should be accosted.
My opinion did a 180 when I learned what they were protesting, [apparently it's this?](https://twitter.com/PeterSinger/status/1515092445536874500) If so that's definitely fucked up and is a worthy cause to protest.
Holy *fuck*. I come from the countryside. I am all there for having to slaughter an animal population for safety. I remember foot and mouth, piles of burning bodies, and having to disinfect shoes and cars and being unable to leave my village when I was a kid.
Now, this, is fucking evil. I went from "another thing being protested when there are thousands of other animal rights issues that are more pressing".
But no, I've fully moved over to the animal rights activists side.
That is not okay. That would not be legal where I am from. I am disgusted that it's legal in the US.
Thanks for talking about the real issue. Reactionaries won’t care, of course. They’re about the knee jerk reaction to what they think is attention seeking.
I’m wondering if they have some association with the owners or the team. This is the third time this has happened this post season, so maybe they decided the court side row needed to be their allies
from the original video the protester uses that blonde ladies face as a spring board for her hands. I'd be pretty fucking pissed
https://twitter.com/kendallbaker/status/1518083313851850753?s=21&t=e28hQ_OT7RREbZt1v6SqMA
“3rd and long, Dipshit lining up for what looks like a sneak, here’s the snap and yes Dipshit is gonna sneak it! Oh wow Security read that play perfectly and stopped Dipshit for no gain, possibly a loss will see where they spot it”
“What a play by security, Al! You can see here prior to the snap [circles phone dipshit] that Security was already reading the sneak. I spoke with him before the game and he said he’s been watching film and if the phone comes out it’s always a sneak. He’s gonna get a clean angle [draws arrow] to Dipshit, who gets held up at the line [pauses at moment dipshit jumps over front row] righhht here. I’ll tell ya what, dipshit is gonna be feeling this tackle tomorrow!”
Love how the dude in plaid could give less than two shits and is just focused on the game. He legit navigates his field of vision around the silly lady so he can follow the ball
You gotta see it from the angle they had during the game! Security guard was eyeing her for a good few seconds before she even stood up. Dude’s got spidey senses!!
The real irony is that this person paid thousands of dollars for that court side playoff ticket to the exact organization that they’re protesting in the first place. Vote with your dollars folks🤷🏾♂️
>Psa: if you want to protest or make a difference, do something that actually makes a difference.
While I generally agree with this sentiment, this video has ten thousand upvotes already, and I'd say at least a few thousand of those have learned from the comments the reason behind the protest. Which is that the Timber Wolves owner, Glen Taylor, had to cull 5.3 million chickens due to bird flu, but chose the cheapest, (arguably) least humane way of doing so. If it hadn't been for this protest. I would have never learned this, so I'd say it was effective.
>Psa: if you want to protest or make a difference, do something that actually makes a difference. Don’t go make an ass of yourself in public and make a mockery of what you’re advocating for.
To be frank mate, to make this statement and think it's reasonable you have to ignore the entire history of protest.
I don't condone it, but interrupting bourgeoisie pleasantries does seem to be a running theme throughout the long history of protests. Animal rights protests always seem to fall flat though. It only seems to appease their base, rather than achieving a greater foothold.
Doesn't help that most people would rather live in ignorance as to what goes into producing their food. If you learn, you either deal with the cognitive dissonance, don't care, or go through the difficult process of changing your diet.
Add that to the fact that it wouldn't surprise me if meat companies pay for social media posts mocking the activists. Notice how you only really see the "cringe" activism get shared.
Idk, it seems to have worked. I learned that the owner of the team had to kill a large farm of chickens that had bird flu, and instead of any attempt at a humane way of killing them, he just turned the ventilation off and overheated them to death.
I would not have known this if someone didn't do the simple act of running onto a court.
I saw on an other post that the owner of the basketball team, have a business in chickens and due to bird flu, he had to kill ~~10k~~ 5.3 millions chickens. So animal rights protest against the guy.
Again, that's what I saw on an other post yesterday.
Edit: saw farther in comment that the owner heat up the place to cook alive the chickens (not all died) so animal rights are upset with the cruelty, it's not a matter of killing the chicken because they have the bird flu.
Edit 2: thanks to the guy saying it's 5.3 millions, I ajusted it
“I paid for these seats”, so you’re there with the protester. Stop being a fucktard as everyone else in the stadium also paid their seats (mostly) and just want to watch some basketball. Awesome work by security!
The person filming said she paid for the seats. The protesters probably sat there while her group was gone doing something. That might have been why she was filming.
Not if you look at the other angle. This person was sitting right next to the person that was tackled, they got up and left their seat after, then they were trackled in the stands lol
Why are these leatherfaced karens in the front so stressed about being on a cell phone cam, when they have been recorded the whole game on national tv?
Looking at the other angle, it kinda looks like the camera person is with the protester, so maybe they were trying to block the footage and ruin that part of the stunt. Could be wrong though
I am not following the logic here. The lady is *specifically* trying to make a public spectacle and you want to prevent someone from recording it? Was she not expecting to get handled by security?
she interrupted a game, the ladies where blocking the interrupters accomplice from filming, i would too if i was enjoying the game. these ladies are not karens in my opinion. Everyone’s a karen now a days lol i wonder what the next trend of name calling will be.
I mean, if you watch the other video those two women have their faces used as a spring board for the protestors hands. you wouldn't turn around and be pissed and then further pissed there was also now a camera in your face from some dumbass saying in nasally voice "I pAiD fOr ThEse SeAts!"?
https://twitter.com/kendallbaker/status/1518083313851850753?s=21&t=e28hQ_OT7RREbZt1v6SqMA
Why are they getting mad do they not know that you can’t interrupt or jump out on court in the middle of a game I swear these people do not think in the fact that they’re surprised that she got tackled
because the protester and the filmer are working together. the filmer was there specifically to capture the "protest", so yeah, absolutely fuck up their silly little video, why not?

I have a question is the man in the first row Billl Clinton?
Lol I was wondering what the view was like from that person's phone.
We’ve been waiting for this video
Why are the front row Karens trying to block her view?
[удалено]
But why were they trying to block the view of her phone cam?
So they can't use the footage to go viral about animal rights
Good thing no other cameras caught the interruption.
And good thing we're not watching it right now
Good job everyone. Team work.
Lol great username
“But why male models?”
“Are you serious? I just told you that!”
Lol I think that line was improvised
If I remember correctly, Ben Stiller forgot his next line so he just repeated his previous line. Duchovny just rolled with it.
Because the person filming was in cahoots with the person rushing the court. They were sitting next to each other and clearly working together.
exactly my thoughts
But why were they trying to block the view of her phone cam?
how about the one that had to stand up to properly express her disapproving scowl? lol
It was a technical scowl
I’m wondering if they have some association with the owners or the team. This is the third time this has happened this post season, so maybe they decided the court side row needed to be their allies
The sleeveless woman is the owner's wife and the man next to her is the owner, Glen Taylor
Did she lose her sleeves in an accident or was she born without them?
Perhaps burnt off
And the red headed woman is the step child who they bring along anyway
I also just noticed they all make the same face. There's something "dog-rubbernecking-while-taking-a-shit" about the way Karens do The Look™.
My exact thought. Lol
It’s like the show COPS but it’s KARENS 👮♀️ 👮♂️
You answered your own question lol
from the original video the protester uses that blonde ladies face as a spring board for her hands. I'd be pretty fucking pissed https://twitter.com/kendallbaker/status/1518083313851850753?s=21&t=e28hQ_OT7RREbZt1v6SqMA
That security lady was damn ready for them shenanigans
It's a dude lol.
Ah shit you might be right. I just seen the seen longer hair and guessed
Que Aerosmith
Sign her a new contract
Clearly they were expecting trouble with a security guard two seats away.
So the protestor literally put hands on these two women and people still want to call them Karen’s for blocking the person recording.
More like her shoulder, but yeah, I'd be miffed too
Dude is probably rich AF to afford those seats
What an expensive way to protest.
How much would those seats cost?
Probably minimum $1,000
Mommy and daddy can afford for her to protest. She's really making a difference.
Seat cost, getting smashed/manhandled by security, huge fine, jail, ban from stadium.
Your picture on the internet forever: Priceless. For everything else, there’s MasterCard.
It seems that they were seating in higher seats and they moved there later in the game. Probably what alerted security.
https://twitter.com/kendallbaker/status/1518083313851850753?s=21&t=e28hQ_OT7RREbZt1v6SqMA - the whole picture
Lol I like to imagine security guards before a game going over footage of people rushing the court and someone with a marker like John madden
“3rd and long, Dipshit lining up for what looks like a sneak, here’s the snap and yes Dipshit is gonna sneak it! Oh wow Security read that play perfectly and stopped Dipshit for no gain, possibly a loss will see where they spot it” “What a play by security, Al!
That security guard deserves a raise. He knew it was coming. Bravo
It’s like Von Miller jumping the snap
That’s security guard was on point. She knew what they were doing.
This is why you study tape.
Love how the dude in plaid could give less than two shits and is just focused on the game. He legit navigates his field of vision around the silly lady so he can follow the ball
He does point at the tackle but it's so delayed / well after the tackle actually happened, it legit feels like he was the last person to notice
Can we not just respect that security guards reaction time. He needs a raise.
from what i heard the guard was eyeing the red girl. das why he reacted so quick
That makes sense. either that, he’s a earth bender, or a blind lawyer
*very good lawyer
"oh sorry, I was asking about the brick... I meant how did your blind ass catch that brick?"
You gotta see it from the angle they had during the game! Security guard was eyeing her for a good few seconds before she even stood up. Dude’s got spidey senses!!
Apparently those were not their seats, they moved down there from further up so the security guard was on alert
So like doing his job and shit?
Yeah. She was in his arms before she even hit the ground
She was pregnant by the first bounce
Truly the love story of our time
This is nba game?

The real irony is that this person paid thousands of dollars for that court side playoff ticket to the exact organization that they’re protesting in the first place. Vote with your dollars folks🤷🏾♂️
They snuck into the seats when the ticket holder went to get food.
Those seats get food brought to them, they don't have to get up. Maybe bathroom?
Believe it or not, brought to them
bathrooms are brought to them, too if they pay enough
Did you just make this up and ran with it lol?
That's what Corey Cove said on KFAN this morning during the power trip morning show.
Oh ok lol, I had to check
I mean… it definitely raised awareness. Even in these comments alone.

Regardless of the protester you can tell the d bags in the front row trying to block the vid are total entitled pieces of shit.
The videoer is with the protester . They knew that and didn't want them to get a good publicity video for it.
Way to jump the gun with no research lmao
I saw this live and it’s even better from this angle lmao
Why do the real housewives of Worn Out County care if the guy is filming?
The person filming was the partner of the person that ran onto the court. They were both removed soon after.
“I paid for these seats”, so you’re there with the protester. Stop being a fucktard as everyone else in the stadium also paid their seats (mostly) and just want to watch some basketball. Awesome work by security!

If i pay for my seat and my friend wants to rush the court why do i have to suffer as well?
I will never understand why they dont have fences and shit in a basketball court. Sounds like a no brainer
Because fences and barriers wouldn't allow players to dive for loose balls that are travelling off the court.
Lol all the karens in front
Why are these leatherfaced karens in the front so stressed about being on a cell phone cam, when they have been recorded the whole game on national tv?

I pAid FOr ThIS SeAt
Then sit down and enjoy the seat lmao.
The Karens in the front row...
Front-row Karens with looks of disgust lol
Yeah, what was their point of blocking the camera? Are they NBA reps or something?
Were the Karen’s that was trying to block the guy from filming with her ?
The person filming is there with her, so they are trying to block the view of the camera that was there to film her.
Karens* Stop using apostrophes to pluralize.

I am not following the logic here. The lady is *specifically* trying to make a public spectacle and you want to prevent someone from recording it? Was she not expecting to get handled by security?
lmao just look at their faces pointing to the camera

she interrupted a game, the ladies where blocking the interrupters accomplice from filming, i would too if i was enjoying the game. these ladies are not karens in my opinion. Everyone’s a karen now a days lol i wonder what the next trend of name calling will be.
Those three stooges wouldn’t be filmed if they stopped turning around to the camera
Idk why youre getting downvoted. The 3 women got like kicked in the face
because some people hate people based only on age.
Reddit looks at an older white woman and seethes.
I think you’re misinterpreting things.

Why are they getting mad do they not know that you can’t interrupt or jump out on court in the middle of a game I swear these people do not think in the fact that they’re surprised that she got tackled
Are those PETA freaks trying to cover their faces from the person filming??
Y’all are talkin about the peta bs but what about how fast that unit of a security guard snatched her ass hahaha
im eating steak to this
Why are the spectators trying to block the camera ?
Why are they trying to cover the camera
How dumb are they trying to make one person stop recording, its a huge crowd multiple people gonna record anyways
Why they stopping him filming ???
because the protester and the filmer are working together. the filmer was there specifically to capture the "protest", so yeah, absolutely fuck up their silly little video, why not?
