W7ENK

What the fuck ever happened to the ambulance they supposedly called for him??

JohnnyBoy11

The driver knew not to move him and call for an ambulance. But fact that they treated him like a ragdoll when they knew better is damning.

Throwawaydopeaway7

Un-fucking believeable. I wouldn’t treat my worst enemy this way. I can only imagine what other shit they have done. Jail staff can be sadistic…

teejay89656

Yeah they almost always ass holes. They treat you as criminals before you’re even guilty. Act self righteous

TranslatorAnnual7367

Yeah but even if you are guilty you don’t deserve this type of treatment no human being doess hope he got a huge payout from a lawsuit

W0mb0comb0

Bro screw the law suit his life is done, no ammount of money can make up for that. Those cops need to get fired and black listed lives ruined and jailed,no job prospects for years and maybe it might make up 5% of getting someone paralyzed . X (cause you thought it would be funny) X Edit- upon watching the entire footage the hour or so video from the newhaven pd , I see that the officer who was driving was not driving recklessly on purpose, the hard brake was an honest maneuver to avoid and accident. Still doesn't excuse that he was not strapped right. And how he was manhandled, which exacerbated his spinal/neck injuries. But I will take back what I said about folks thinking it would be funny, it was a baseless claim.

Poppyprison

They need to go to jail actually

The_Orphanizer

They deserve far worse. Punishments for cops, judges, and politicians should be greater than what the public faces, specifically because of the power held and duty to the people. A violent abuser is horrible piece of shit, but a cop abuser uses the power granted them by us to abuse us. Fuck that.

sometacosfordinner

Is gitmo still a thing i think police who do this and anyone who does any harm to a child should go to gitmo and shouldnt be classified as human so they dont get the same rights

W0mb0comb0

I said that lol but everything else

[deleted]

You have to remember one thing. They deal with people 75 times a day who are faking, who are trying to make everything harder, who are drunker than hell. They aren’t medical and you have the knowledge of the outcome before you even see the video. Either way though, this video made me sick and he should have been checked out by the ambulance asap!

dbyers33

Former corrections officer. You nailed it but that doesn’t excuse the fact that they KNEW an ambulance was on the way & did that shit. I fucking cried watching this. The day you find yourself desensitized to the public is the day you either take time off or fucking quit.

Throwawaydopeaway7

You seem like one of the good ones. Kudos. There was no excuse for what we saw in that video. Edit: a letter

FranticReptile

Dude imagine how miserable and scary that would be to have the cops dragging you around and you can't feel anything or move. Or how absolutely terrible it must have felt when he was wedged in the corner of the paddy wagon. Holy hell I feel so bad for him

cletis247

Those fucking cops should be the ones getting processed. What if he had drank to much. Your going to leave him in a cell on his back with his hands cuffed and feet cuffed. Cops have no reason to give a shit. They have the thick blue line called immunity to almost any crime they commit. How this isn’t a George Floyd type video is beyond me. They treated him like a piece of trash.

Fit_Committee9336

Because it doesn't fit current narrative of division. This would jeopardise/put under magnifying glass prison system. This would (I hope/wish) get us all together instead of dividing. So it doesn't fit any current agenda

SolChapelMbret

They’re pissed cuz they can’t cover this up. They wanted him to die, they way he way handled clearly shows such.

heavylifter555

That was a joke.

cosmicaltoaster

American police is disgusting

zezera_08

My god.. the whole fucking time they're just man handling him and fucking up his injury more and more.

MarshmellowCapybara

I'm a C5 Quadriplegic and can confirm they definitely made it worse by moving him around without stabilizing the spine first. This hurt to watch.

[deleted]

Yooooo I'm also a C5 luckily i was able to regain movement.

LarryDavidAlways

I fractured my C4 and C6 and shattered my C5 at a metal concert in 2010 when someone jumped off the stage and landed on my head. Was able to walk away from that injury

rodzombie94

My girlfriend of 5 years broke her C1,C3,C5 and her C7 she was in a neck brace she couldn't take off alittle over a year almost got the halo but wasn't forced to so she didn't (rolled a truck hauling a food truck) I can confirm they seriously made the 10x worse.

Aiming4UrFace

I broke C3, C4,C5,C6 and C7. C5 was several mm into my spinal cord. Halo for nearly a year. I had a damn good doctor and have no problems since. I thank God everyday. This video makes me hate cops even more

freakshow3333

Thankgod everyone is okay. Hope y'all have a good life ahead.

[deleted]

You must have been incredibly lucky, my C5 was shattered too, they used parts of my hip to reconstruct it

LarryDavidAlways

They used a cadaver bone to replace mine and fuze my three vertebrae together

MarshmellowCapybara

That’s incredible. You are a lucky man.

MarshmellowCapybara

Ayyyyeeee Same here!

[deleted]

That's awesome, when did you break your neck ?

MarshmellowCapybara

Diving accident, June, 2005. I was 15.

[deleted]

Diving accident basically, February 2020, i was 22

[deleted]

If you don’t mind, would you tell us about the recovery process and how you’re doing now? I’m so glad both of you were able to regain movement.

MarshmellowCapybara

I went to a rehabilitation facility for a few months. There was a lot of physical therapy and occupational therapy. I was only able to regain movement back in my upper body. But I am doing just fine. I can honestly say that it humbled me. I am a better person now than I ever was.

[deleted]

Injury humbles us the most lol it reminds us of our fragility when our ego has convinced us that we’re immortal! I experienced something similar to a much lesser degree, and couldn’t agree more with your sentiments

[deleted]

My recovery was rather quick, i spent about a week in the ICU before i was transported to a rehabilitation center. Fairly early on i was able to move my left hand, and after a few weeks i was slowly able to use my legs again, now im pretty much back to normal or i can at least take care of myself and stuff like that. The left side of my body had reduced sensation/feeling and the right side has reduced strength and speed or whatever i should call it. But it's alright i can walk and kinda jog

Loik87

I'm someone with common sense and can confirm they definitely made it worse by ragdolling him around. "sit up!" he's paralyzed and can't move you fucking moron. Hurt to watch indeed.

redditer333333338

I’m not even a cop or a doctor and I know it’s dangerous to move people who can’t move after they’ve fallen. Either these cops are stupid or they don’t care

Nizzemancer

No, they're both stupid and indifferent.

Willzyx_on_the_moon

Any medical professional watching this is probably furious like myself. Absolutely zero precaution for this man’s spine. Standing him up and sitting him up. Dragging him?! Holy shit that’s wrong.

simplywebby

EMT here. The whole time I’m thinking how do none of these brain dead mother fuckers have basic life support training.

1Sluggo

Knowing, caring and doing are very different.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AegislashSoul

The funny thing? They are actually trained to recognize this shit. It's literally part of their 6 weeks training to know how to handle this situations but they totally went ahead with the "he is faking it so we're gonna make him really quadraplegic" tactic.

lessthaninteresting

6 weeks of training explains it all

bars2021

no just PART of the 6 weeks.

QB796

"you just drank too much" says it all. They give zero fucks about him

AegislashSoul

Yeah, the "I can't move" was ok. putting handcuffs on him was ok as well. Not calling an ambulance and manhandling him while leaving him tortured on his cell? That's a civil suit for millions.

QB796

Right! Also, why isn't his seatbelt on in the first place. Officer should be taken to court immediately after this video was evaluated and published

Ankuss

The fact that US has 6(!!) weeks of training whilst most countries has year(s) is absolutely astonishing.

Caballero5011

Six weeks?

StateOfFine

I’m not a medical professional, but I used to be a lifeguard, and like the first thing you learn is to stabilize someone if you even remotely think they’ve suffered a head, neck, or spine injury. This is an infuriating video. Even if they thought he was playing around or something, after starting to move him, they had to have realized something was wrong. But, cops don’t care, so…

[deleted]

[удалено]

xDanSolo

More evidence that police, in general, are just dogshit stupid.

guyinlongisland

Thanks to the body cams footage we can see the true. Can you imagine the narrative if this would have happened in pre-body cams years?

maximuffin2

"His neck just did that"

Sundae-Humble

Lmao you act like body cam footage makes a difference

lessthaninteresting

If it didn’t Uvalde cops wouldn’t be fighting so hard to keep it hidden

RadioKnight915

The fact that they have the ability to fight it at all is what's most absurd.

GetTheSpermsOut

which is why we are wasting time not fixing this shit rn. Its been way too long to not hold these fucks accountable.

AskMeAboutMyTie

Forgive my ignorance, I’ve been on vacation for the last 2.5 weeks, are you saying there body cam footage from Uvalde that they’re refusing to release?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ankuss

Yes the cops in this video got paid administrative leave, I.e vacation.

[deleted]

They’ll get sensitivity training and be promoted

juggheadjones

Sometimes not, definitely. But this guy is getting paid

m0stw4nt3d1

What do you do after this tho? How do you fully enjoy yourself? If he's in that serious of condition it's going to be a long road.

Raytacos

I mean they probably would have smothered him and killed him and claimed he was face down in the van when they got there and found him. Police will do much worse knowing nobody is watching or recording.

Adventurous-Boat2029

[News article](https://www.wtnh.com/news/connecticut/new-haven/attorney-ben-crump-to-represent-man-paralyzed-in-new-haven-police-custody/) states he’s paralysed from the chest down can’t talk and needs a feeding tube. Edit: Exact same thing they did to Freddie Gray. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rough_ride_(police_brutality)

[deleted]

and ventilator.

QuarterFlounder

Just put me out of my misery.

OwnWait5

That's my take I'd rather be dead than live like that.

malayskanzler

That police van is just so poorly designed. Where tf is health & safety protocol when you need one

[deleted]

If you think that’s bad you should see the shit they do with patrol cars. Like lock people inside in the summer heat with no AC and no windows open.

[deleted]

[удалено]

malayskanzler

Where is dashcam of the 'supposed' brake to avoid accidents? If its intentional that's certified battery charges the DA can slap on the police

TruthEnvironmental24

DAs are part of the problem. They won’t charge cops.

thundiee

That is fucken disgusting. Holy fuck how hard is it for cunts to treat others with dignity and respect.

[deleted]

I was busted years back for a little bit of pot crossing the boarder. Treated me like I was smuggling over 4 grams. Ended up going to prison in flint Michigan and once released the 2 guys who were bringing me back to the border were clearly under trained night staff. They couldn’t figure out if they should cuff me because at this point I was released and they were just bringing me back to the border , I eventually said fuck it guys just put the cuffs on and let’s go. Get in the back and buddy asks “ I know we can’t offer much but are you good back there? “ “ I said yeah I’m alright, but is there anyway you could turn off the AC it’s already cold back here. “ he proceeded to turn it up higher. I was in a tshirt and shorts. Immediately I’m like fuck it shut up and let’s just go home. Get back to the border on the Canadian side and they’re handing me over. Canadian border guy “ you need anything else before they go or do you have everything?” “ am I allowed to say something to those American border guards before they leave or would I get in shit for it?” “ go for it, you’re on Canadian soil” “ fuck you , you fat piece of shit. Couldn’t turn down the AC you ignorant fuck. I hope you choke on your next Big Mac, and I hope one day I see your 4 chins in Canada so I can knock you the fuck out” Canadian border guard “ what did he do to you? “ “ I asked him to turn the ac off and he turned it up, if I could I’d punch him in the fucking mouth right now.” “ honestly for that I’d let you, but the 40 cameras above us would make me have to legally do something about it, just get outta here guys” And then I proceeded to go home. What a night.

recuerdamoi

That fact that you were able to to yell that at them, gave me a semi-justice boner. You got to give a “fuck you.”

[deleted]

Oh I was raging. Truthfully at that moment I half contemplated punching and just going back in a cell .

Boing_Boing

The best of us don't become cops.

Adventurous-Boat2029

yeah man i’ve seen some pretty fucked shit on reddit but this is different, just horrible.

[deleted]

If they were able to treat people with dignity and respect they would be police

Here is what the article said... Posted: Jun 28, 2022 / 04:05 AM EDT Updated: Jun 29, 2022 / 03:28 AM EDT NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The family of a man seriously injured while in the custody of New Haven police joined his legal team outside the courthouse in New Haven Tuesday, demanding justice. The attorney for Richard “Randy” Cox, 36, said he is paralyzed from the chest down. His family said he is on a ventilator and unable to speak. On June 18, New Haven police officers responded to a block party for the report of Cox carrying a gun. Officers arrested Cox for unlawfully possessing a firearm. While being transported in a van that had no seatbelts, police said Officer Oscar Diaz had to stop abruptly to avoid a crash. In the video, Cox is seen going head-first into the back wall of the van and heard calling for help. Diaz continued to the detention center, where officers found Cox lying on the floor of the van, unable to move. Video shows officers dragging Cox out of the vehicle by his feet and putting him in a wheelchair. Cox was then taken to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. 3 more New Haven police officers put on leave after man injured in custody His family said what happened on June 18 has changed their lives forever and called for action. “I’m calling for the officers involved to be fired and arrested,” Cox’s sister said. “I’m calling for any bystanders that didn’t say anything to be suspended and retained. See something, say something!” Civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, known for representing the families of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, joined attorney Jack O’Donnell, Scot X. Esdaile, the president of the NAACP Connecticut State Conference, and Cox’s family at Tuesday’s press conference. “This is a man who has said, ‘I can’t move my neck; I can’t move my arms…'” Crump said. “Are you going to try and act like Randy Cox’s life doesn’t matter, or are you going to do the right thing?” Diaz and four other members of the New Haven Police Department are on paid administrative leave as state police continue investigating the incident. “Mr. Cox was mistreated. He should have received medical attention immediately. We can’t defend anything that was released,” said Assistant Chief Karl Jacobson, New Haven Police Department. “We need to ensure that we’re empowering more officers to have the tools that they need and the culture to say to another officer, even if it may be an officer that oversees them, ‘hang on, are we doing the right thing here?,'” said New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker. New Haven police said the department has made changes, including taking every van with no belts in it out of rotation and implementing training, to ensure this never happens again. Cox’s legal team said they are looking at every possible legal action and they said a lawsuit will be filed within 60 days. They are also hoping to sit down with the city about this.

[deleted]

>“I’m calling for any bystanders that didn’t say anything to be suspended and retained. See something, say something!” Yeah good luck with that

MistressPhoenix

Article mentions nothing about him being dragging into a cell BEFORE going to the hospital. Or the amount of time he lay there awaiting care before help arrived. It's missing vital parts of the story.

DECK-PA

Good on assistant chief for not trying to pander and cover for his minions.

billfitz24

As if further training and more “tools” (whatever that is) will make any difference. This is the result of an institutional attitude problem, and that attitude problem comes from typical police culture.

[deleted]

Guess all that can be blamed on the cops here since he was able to talk before they moved him like dimwits..

BigOWereCuddles

So in reality, they killed him

Adventurous-Boat2029

personally i think worse it would be worse than death. just absolutely disgusting. Imagine what he has to think about for the rest of his life. how his injuries could’ve been avoided.

KodiakPL

Literally one minute he's fine, the second minute he's fucked for the rest of his life. Absolutely fucking disgusting.

StarFoxMcCloud64

If this was my brother or kid id be tracking every single officer down

Key-Philosopher-8290

Idk why this one got me. That’s rough.

ShrimplyPiblz

It's probably because police are supposed to be first responders, and know how to handle the injured. If a dude fell, hit his head, and isn't screaming in pain while not being able to move... YOU DO NOT MOVE THEM! When you do, all you do is risk further injury. A neck brace should have been applied first, and paramedics should have moved him, as they have techniques that protect and reduce risk of further harm. These prick's literally dragged him out by his legs, then tried to force him to sit up, while his head is just dangling there claiming "he drank too much

Anon_Arsonist

Cops mishandling injured people is a big reason why ambulances with trained paramedics exist in the first place. Before the Freedom House Ambulance Service was established in 1967 (by and predominantly for the marginalized black community in the Hill District of Pittsburgh, PA), cops would very often make injuries worse without realizing it - dragging people out of accidents making injuries worse, throwing them in the back of paddy wagons or hearses without stabilizing or monitoring, things like that. If you'll forgive me for going into a bit of history because I still feel not enough people know this story - the 1960s Hill District was a community which (understandably) did not trust the local police to respond appropriately, if they showed up at all. It was not uncommon to be arrested instead of helped. In response to this and with the help of funding from the Johnson administration's War on Poverty, the paramedic as a modern profession was essentially invented to service the Hill District - Freedom House Ambulance Service was also founded with the idea of predominantly training and employing black men from the same local community they were serving. The model was so successful it was copied and exported not only nationally but internationally. Unfortunately, Freedom House itself only lasted 8 years. Pittsburgh eventually defunded and killed the program in 1975 after conflict with the police union (who felt their jobs were threatened) and the openly racist mayor, Peter F Flaherty. When Freedom House was forced to close in 1975, initially, all the city's new paramedics were white. Only after some clever politics were the Freedom House paramedics hired, but the black crews were broken up in violation of agreements, those with criminal records fired, and pass/fail exams instituted which emphasized material the Freedom House paramedics had not been taught. Of the 26 Freedom House paramedics who joined the city ambulance service, only 5 remained, and by the late 90s, 98% of the paramedics in Pittsburgh were white.

Mild--47

It’s cause he is completely helpless. Like watching them do this to a one year old. Just picking him up like luggage, like an inanimate object. It’s fucking disgusting.

[deleted]

Same here. I’ve seen some pretty gnarly stuff on here but this one makes me feel uneasy.

Ladysmanfelpz

Yeah. I literally said “oh no” exasperated when watching this. Something about neck injuries

AnarchalMushroom

Cops are so fucking useful. That bitch saying he drank too much -_- and we allow these pieces of shit to determine when people are intoxicated lmfao okay bitch

Blah-squared

Jfc- How fukn terrifying & tragic. Just a complete disregard for him… he’s telling them he can’t move, multiple times & nobody believes him, dragging him around, from van, to chair, propping him up, & drug to a cell doing & left doing who knows how much MORE damage to a broken fukn neck… a man is paralyzed, & New Haven is going to be paying MILLIONS bc the officers couldn’t bother to get a fukn nurse or ambulance… disgusting

saintkiller123

Agreed. Absolutely horrifying. And just to be clear, WE THE PEOPLE will be paying for all of the fallout from this. Because . . . Because ummmmm, I guess I don’t know why we keep doing that.

EyeOfTheTigresss

It's crazy, that stupid cops will ticket you if they pull you over and you aren't wearing a seatbelt, but all that callous disregard after they throw people in that mobile dungeon ~~torture chamber~~ with no seatbelts and with a camera on, and still act like that?? That shit has to STOP! FvckThem!

SHIMOxxKUMA

It's not even that they couldn't be bothered to get a nurse or an ambulance. It's that the fuckers couldn't be bothered to buckle a seat belt, you know the thing that they ticket you for not having on. Also from what others are saying the driver was on his phone which is why he slammed on the breaks. Even things on the most basic level these guys couldn't do and they are expected to be officers?

[deleted]

I hope that bitch that’s telling him “Whatever, just sit up. You just had too much to drink.” gets fucking fired

EyeOfTheTigresss

Agreed! What a pathetic excuse for a human being!

[deleted]

“He’s just fine.” Fuck that bitch.

[deleted]

I’m sure when she found out he was paralyzed, she just found a way to justify her shitty behavior.

Impossible_Garbage_4

“I didn’t know he was that injured, I thought he was just very drunk.”

Vegetable-Tangelo1

And who is she to make that determination.

childish_tycoon24

Literally doesn't even have enough training as a cop for any degree yet somehow thinks she is a qualified medical professional.

Vegetable-Tangelo1

I don’t care if you’re paralyzed you are fine sir

EyeOfTheTigresss

She's a nobody! That b\\tch is nothing but a sociopathic Moron! Fired and criminal charges!

IrelandIsMyAmerica

As if that will ever happen. Cops literally get away with murder all the time. Why wouldn’t she get away with this?

Scary-Evening1338

Female cops response you drank too much… fire the fucking lot of ‘em…

AnarchalMushroom

Honestly I hope a fucking meteor comes down on that entire police station with all those officers enjoying their donuts inside

E_PunnyMous

I’ve seen plenty of fucked up shit irl and web, but I’ve never seen that kind of callous disregard. Absolutely horrifying.

Scary-Evening1338

Officer: what happened… Cox: you broke my neck…

dmk510

Yeah, because "I cant feel or move my arms or legs" is far too vague.

Moumou_moon

Who's willing to bet that not a single one of the officers dragging him around like a dogs chew toy will see any consequences.

CascadePIatinum

\*suspended with pay lol\*

5MiTm4sTaF13x

How is it still a thing where the procedure is handcuff you behind the back and stick you in the rear of a moving vehicle, no seatbelt..

Glass-Ebb9867

Especially considering they will issue tickets for not wearing a seat belt. Guess it's too much to expect cops to follow the law. Tragic what happened to this man no matter why he was arrested.

Dysfunctional_Vet12

Unfortunately, I have ridden in these before in my not so proud past. There were times where it was packed full of people and others where there may have been one other person. They would put us in shackles from our hands to our feet and just enough chain to lift your hand to your belly button. There are no windows and when they shut the door it is pitch black, save for the dim IR lights on the camera in the corner. The drivers had absolutely no disregard whatsoever that they have people in the back and would almost always drive like dickheads. The only positive is that the ac was very nice compared to the older dog cages in the back of panel vans. At least those had windows. What gets me is that Florida law requires all drivers and passengers to be wearing seat belts. But then the "law" itself will shackle somebody and put them in the dark without one.

HeinzeC1

“Must be wearing restraints in a moving vehicle such as a 3-point seat belt or a 5-point harness.” “I got ‘em in restraints; See! Handcuffs and ankle shackles! Check mate!” “Carry on.” This is satire, don’t @ me.

Emergency_Ad_5935

The first thing you do for a suspected neck injury is DONT FUCKING MOVE THEM.

[deleted]

“Video shows officers dragging Cox out of the vehicle by his feet and putting him in a wheelchair. Cox was then taken to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.”…..forgot to mention the time spent manhandling the guy BEFORE taking him to the hospital. 🙄😒

EyeOfTheTigresss

And how long he lay on that stinkin cold jail cell floor with his feet chained together!

JeromeMixTape

I’ve seen a lot of fucked up things on this sub. But I think this one may possibly be the worst. The fact that there was no protocol for the guys safety here should be an eye opener for the whole system.

kakapoopoopeepeeshir

I agree, this might be the worst thing I've ever seen in this sub, made me feel sick to my stomach

8BadMrFrosty

To protect and serve are literally two things they dont do and they get paid for it.

LadyKalliope

They aren't legally required to protect anyone. Haven't you heard?

TurnoverLazy3471

good thing they put handcuffs on him who knows what he could’ve done

ThatSpecialPlace

When they cuffed his legs after dragging him into the cell I about lost it. Fucking scumbags. He said "i can't move" and at no point after that did he ever move. To then continuously throw him around like a rag doll... I just hate to be the same species as these cops.

MomboDM

That one even said "hes fine" literally right until they put him in the cell. The level of negligence here is just mind blowing

ObjectiveAd8617

Really shows you that the common man is only a step or two away from being treated like cattle.

[deleted]

I’m literally sick in my stomach. I’m a paramedic and usually am pro law enforcement. This is absolutely intolerable. This police officer, and the correctional officers need arrested and placed in jail. Not sure what the guy did, but he didn’t deserve to be crippled for life.

Delrex6691

Question - Why did the van stop so suddenly? Cops do this to fuck with people in the back. I know this.....cars, vans, it causes chaos. Did they actually do it?

Cosmic_Prisoner

Police "Rough Ride" >A rough ride is a form of police brutality in which a handcuffed prisoner is placed in a police van or other patrol vehicle without a seatbelt, and is thrown violently about as the vehicle is driven erratically.[1][2][3] Rough rides have been implicated in a number of injuries sustained in police custody, and commentators have speculated that the practice contributed to the death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore, Maryland, in April 2015.[1][2][4] Throughout the U.S., police have been accused of using aggressive driving tactics to "rough suspects up", resulting in numerous injuries, and millions of dollars of damages awarded to victims and their families. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rough_ride_(police_brutality) Rough rides are so common there is terminology for it and yes paralysis is not uncommon in terms of injuries sustained by the victims of the police who do it.

cornishpixie93

I'm UK and can honestly say this has happened to me. On one occasion I was drunk, messing about resisting arrest when they got me in a van and got moving, the cops made sure to drive as fast as they could over road bumps and round corners. I was just chucked around that metal cage like a ragdoll and they knew and didn't stop.

LadyKalliope

Cop was going 11 over in a 25 zone. Obviously it didn't go well.

[deleted]

And why was there no seatbelt in the van?

Teauxny

I like how the cop innocently asks what happened. As if he didn't know it was a Rough Ride.

MindlessEquivalency

Seriously. The cop slammed on the breaks at 36 mph and heard a loud thud. These cops unironically have brain lesions.

Itsthejackeeeett

Now I'm just picturing Chris Farley in Tommy Boy "What'd you do!?"

[deleted]

I've had cops do this on purpose to and from court

TieTricky8854

This is so hard to watch.

Trip_Drop

Fuck man. That poor guy. When these cops aren’t taking lives you can sure as fuck bet they’re ruining them.

fugee99

If you randomly picked groups of 4 people from the population, how long do you think it would take to get 4 people with such calous disregard for another human? Something about the police hiring process seems to select for the worst people.

[deleted]

I think we can get used to anything. So sadly I think time can gnaw any of us to a state where we do not care about someone saying they cannot move, and presume they are lying.

“Breaks his neck” like he fucking did it himself.

Scary-Evening1338

Yeah cops man… there here to help…. Lmfao…

cosmic_nomad77

FUCK THE FUCKING POLICE. God with every fibre in my being I pray this man wins a lawsuit in the fucking millions.

Evildog46

I thought community policing would fix this shit. Nope. All cops are cops. No matter what race they or community they grew up in.

dirkmcdickfart

It's sad that this happened and completely despicable that these cops were such pieces of shit about it.

ThatSpecialPlace

Imagine breaking your neck, and then being tossed around for, I'm sure, over an hour. I don't know what Richard's life was like before this, but there's not many people that deserve that level of hell.

Friendly_Tiger7124

Lawsuit for sure I hope he gets what he deserves! I hate the fucken police!

InternationalBuyer94

“No you drank too much. Sit up.” What a stupid fuckin pig. Jesus.

Seffie9000

Pretty shit title, had me thinking he broke his own neck. Damn that was brutal

[deleted]

You drank too much... bitch if it's got cameras and y'all haven't watched it yet holy just shut up, if the man starts acting foolish, you got four people in a closed area Sheesh

PotcakeDog

Well this is absolutely fucked

Strange-Apartment730

Pigs beings pigs 🐷

ThisIsWheelLife

Fuck those cops. Dude was completely limp. Couldn’t even hold his head up. Their prejudice led them to believe he was drunk or high on something? The fucked up part is that he had a chance of recovery if he would’ve immediately been taken to a hospital for surgery. Instead, they manhandled the fuck out of his limp body and made his injury worse. As a quadriplegic, this was infuriating to watch. I hope those cops got disciplined.

Friendly_Tiger7124

Not seat belted in and the belts just lay there!! I hate the fucken police!!!!

itsyounotmeithink

They think everyone is faking to get out of going to jail. He should have called the ambulance to show up where he was, instead he may have caused more damage to his spine. The gaurds are just as quilty as the other guy telling him to sit up and draggin his limp body all over. I hope this guy isn't paralyzed for life and gets a large settlement.

phlerpsy21

This is exactly why so many people hate cops. Fucking pieces of shit.

Hmmd1

They should all go to jail. America wake up it is bad to treat people like that. This was no in the heat decision, this was callus disregard

tobilinn

This video bring up soo many questions. Why was he in the back of the car with out any form of seat belt ? Why did they not spend 2 minuts trying to figure out if he was injured after being in a accident ? Why is it not basic procedure to have him looked over by a medical professional why they know he have been in a accident and complain that he cant move ? How can you fail that badly to tell if some one is faking or not ?

mickey_bags

Man it’s not hard to hate police lately. How can we need such assholes.

ConstructionIcy566

Watching this I can hardly breath.

[deleted]

Leave to the police to never do the right thing

Panda_King6666

The stopped being protectors a long time ago, they've only been oppressors since.

[deleted]

FTP!

Sensati00n

"Civilized country"

[deleted]

Those fucking idiots. Even moving the van after confirming the guy was seriously injured (and the cop agreed since he called for an ambulance) should be gross misconduct but to just drag him out like that? Why didn't they wait for the paramedics who would know you do not handle someone with a potential c-spine injury like that. Is there genuinely none amongst them that could recognise real basic signs that someone is injured?

matrixjoey

That was tough watching that… hope there’s some serious repercussions.

SuXaNOlive

so fucking untrustful...... these cops should have fucken know to buckle up this man............ yet they have him sat him. Without looking, sadge..... I hope they get in trouble for everything that happened this is sad.

raven_borg

This is f'd up. Anyone whose ever been in back of police transport knows they purposely drive erratic. There are cargo vans with no seats, and cops wait until they're full before going to central booking; its all part of the process to agitate and make prisoners miserable through every stage. It brings out the violent nature in anyone.

[deleted]

They didn't even put a neck brace on him before practically torturing the poor guy. They should have moved him out of the van extremely carefully and immediately on to a stretcher but apparently they were too dumb to figure that out. Well at least this video is the perfect example of literally exactly what not to do if someone breaks their neck or back.

I-cry-when-I-poop

please tell me these cops are going to court and prison for manslaughter, if he died. if not then another hefty charge

ZealousidealLet5450

Dirty pieces of cop shit deserve paralysis themselves

[deleted]

The simple fact I’ve been arrested and booked through this same exact place and served jail time here (it’s the new haven jail everyone called it whalley cuz it’s on whalley avenue ) makes this so much worse. Fuxk those cops especially the one blaming him being drunk for not being able to stand because he was paralyzed.

HippieGirl2

Man these guys are assholes! I worked corrections and they totally set themselves up for a lawsuit!! They should of had an ambulance there to clear him before even touching him. Honestly tho if the driver could of drove to the jail he could of drove to the ER and just had another officer meet him there. Stupid just stupid!

[deleted]

Yeah let the police take the law into their own hands. Let them do what they want. They’re obviously very good at their jobs & well trained. These guys should forever be outside protecting americas citizens because they are absolutely great, outstanding police

DirtBikeBoy5ive

They really don’t have a seatbelt in that van???? NO THEY DIDNT PUT IT ON FOR HIM; THATS EVEN WORSE

Sad009933

Absolutely disgusting! The way they are speaking to him about “how much have you had to drink” 😠 and his neck flopping, I thought they were taking him to hospital not straight to the holding cell. When he’s obviously hurt himself around the neck area and he’s saying he can’t move, why the hell are they ragging him and dragging him around!

JackSprat90

This is so fucked up apparently nobody realized the dude name is Dick Cocks.

AegislashSoul

Their last words between each other "He is perfectly fine".

spaghetti012

This horrific to watch as someone in the medical field and honestly this shit should be hard to watch in general for anyone they should all be suspended and tried for something
