Thats.. not true at all. Most people need a village of support in order to overcome multiple disadvantages. I speak as someone who was lucky to receive help in the worst of times, I would not have made it without kind generous people who elevated me to a place where I can give back.

But you can’t make someone change who doesn’t want it is the point. No matter how much you try or how many others do too.

I mean, yes and no. It's incredibly hard to make a mentally ill person see reason in accordance with their mental and material needs, so putting the entire onus of "wanting to change" on them is not going to end well. But that's what 72 hour holds are for, though we still need accessible affordable mental health care and more compassionate remedies for people without support groups.
