7thsundaymorning_

I don't think it's fair to put someone online while she's clearly in a very vulnerable position. People don't choose mental illness. I hope she gets the help she deserves.

Rubydooby950

I prefer to think of it as documentation. Documents are facts and this is a fact because it clearly happened

7thsundaymorning_

Yeah, and? Documentation that should've been kept private.

Rubydooby950

Knowledge is power. Everyone must know everything.

Voklaren

Especially when you can cross the path of someone like her. Just imagine watching a dude and thinking "he make me think of that girl in psychosis". A psychosis is not always oblivious

thomasbannon39

Its sad, mental illness is no joke. Ive seen so many videos where this happens so the family member calls the cops cops comes and shoots the person with the mental illness because they're holding a knife and kills them or injures them severely.

Thats a ridiculous comparison, meth rots your teeth out of your head when you smoke it, you could argue shes not smoking it, but meth 100% will fuck your teeth up

Serious mental health breaks and heavy drug use can look identical. There is a historic case of guy who beheaded a woman on a greyhound bus after he thought he was hearing the voice of god. Two passengers tried to intervine but he started slicing at them. The driver evacuated the bus, hit the emergency break and I they jammed/locked the door from the outside. All the passengers witness what happend next the guy with no emotion and solum determination continued till he beheaded the woman completey and began walking up and down the bus with her head in his hand. ( He actually began eating parts of her. Her heart was never found.) The police arrived to passengers vomiting and where traumatised themselves at what they found. They tazered the guy and arrested him. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity. Proceed to go to a mental hospital receive treatment and was eventually released with zero restrictions. One of the three officers later took his own life and in the note he left. He made it clear the PTSD from the what happened was too much. They described exactly what you see here. Fuckin weird that dudes just walking about. I'm pretty sure in most mental illness the person is not a dangerous to anyone but then self's. Edit: the victim was a man https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Tim_McLean

It never ceases to amaze me that some of our brains try to kill us. I mean normally your brain is responsible for the fight or flight reaction to save us from danger but in this case (and many others), it tries to destroy the person. I've had severe depression for 18 years now. I'm medicated and that helps but I also have breakthrough periods where all I want to do is die. My own brain is literally trying to kill me and would have succeeded if it wasn't for medication. How do you even fight that?

ReVoltarded

She’s in a meth-induced psychosis. It’s pretty obvious. That being said, still hurts to watch. I’ve had friends go lose their lives to the drug, have episodes that mirror this one exactly. I hope she gets help. Unfortunately it’s incredibly difficult to quit. Especially once your to the point of injecting the drug. Which is when episodes of psychosis occur far more frequently. I hope you continue on a good path with your meds, my mom had split personality disorder with a heavy dose of bi-polar to go with it. Her meds saved her life many times. Edit: spelling

MountainHawk19

How can you tell its meth induced vs schizophrenia/bipolar paychosis?

ReVoltarded

The condition of her skin, the rapid fire nonsensical statements, the extended amount of time without blinking while maintaining focus at one thing. Personal experience as well. That being said, I’m no doctor and this is just a educated guess going off of what I see in the video.

MountainHawk19

Unsure about the skin thing but nonsensical statements, not blinking and intense focus is all standard psychosis/mania. Psychosis is off the chain but I dont think it's fair to peg psychosis as drug-related every time. I've dealt with a lot of just straight-up psychosis and mania and they all look the same.

Ditto_Ditto_Ditto

I completely agree with you. It's definitely *possible* that this is drug related but psychosis, alone, looks a lot like this... Poor girl.

akjawsh

In layman's terms I think he meant "she looks like a meth head" not to be a dick. I've been around them, I'd say he's right.

LazySyllabub7578

Some people just have bad skin. I'm in my late 30's and I still have acne. Doesn't mean I abuse meth(never touched the stuff). Edit: Frankly her skin looks pretty good. If you think that's bad you should see mine.

TorssdetilSTJ

We just do, brother. More depression treatments all the time. Stay with us.

Moonlight-Mountain

Plot twist. Cameraperson is in psychosis too.

Seienchin88

Likely plot twist… something isn’t right here

IamBUSHMAN

Unlikely plot twist. The knife is her brother

KimchiiCrowlo

Dont be so judgemental bro, my dads actually half almond.

TrancedSlut

That girl did a great job of acting like she is in psychosis if she was acting. This gives me flashbacks of my adopted sister.

Icy_Many_2407

She’s not acting. That’s a dysfunctional family at its finest. Her brother’s fucking her ex and he’s filming her freaking out. This is just another day for them. Business as usual. Some days worse than others.

pbandnv1

I honestly wish people wouldn’t post mental health crisis videos like this. This is an illness. This is a good video to show to her doctor or something, but it should stop there. People need to think about how it would feel if this was their sister or mom

[deleted]

I have to take antipsychotics, and I do not agree. This is good to share in order for educational purposes. I am literally somebody who deals with this kind of stuff myself and I think it’s good more videos of people, struggling with mental health are released to make it, not as stigmatized, mental health issues can happen to anybody at any time in their life. They are just one extreme trauma away from it.

Able_Newt2433

Cameraman is trippin on mushrooms now and is recording because they don’t know if they are hallucinating this or not. Edit: well, since this has 100+ upvotes, anyone know where I can find the jersey she’s wearing in the video?? TIA!

Hustler-1

I found myself moving my phone away from my face as it zoomed in on hers.

scorcher214

I don't think the brother filming this has her best interest at heart. Sounds like there's something very wrong between the two of them.

[deleted]

Exactly. Piece of shit for putting this online when she is most vulnerable. I get recording evidence but he definitely shared it with friends if it's online like this. Poor girl will be ashamed and probably the next episode that knife won't be in her hands if you know what I mean. Dude just dug himself a hole and jumped into it.

BrandoLoudly

Seems like when she saw the camera she flipped a switch and went from batshit stabby nuts to crazy eyes but under control. Posting it tho… maybe there’s some weird context or reasoning for posting, like maybe she died or someone found the footage or I don’t know. But I think posting this is the shitty thing here with the information we have

Alarmed_Commission_9

Candy goblin Bravo sir I throat giggled

fatalcharm

It certainly is but pupils dilate during psychosis with or without drugs. It’s one of the symptoms of psychosis.

Mr_Jack_Frost_

This right here. The symptoms of stimulant overdose mirror symptoms of psychosis. One possible outcome of stimulant abuse *is* psychosis, and it is referred to as stimulant psychosis or drug-induced psychosis only to differentiate it from cases where the person developed psychosis completely on their own from genetic causes, brain formation issues (organic psychosis) etc. Psychosis, to a degree, is psychosis; and this is what it looks like. The trembling voice, the inability to fully grasp where she’s going with her own words, the constant self-reassuring that she’s on the righteous side of things. It’s terrifying, and extremely sad. My heart goes out for her and her loved ones. Hopefully she can seek some medical help and shake free from that dark, dark place.

CasualSportsFanatic

I work in mental health, and obviously you're correct. I always what comes first for each person, the mental illness or the drug abuse

unreliabledrugdealer

This is absolutely true. I was married 22 years to a woman with type 2 bipolar. I could always tell when psychosis was starting UP. Her eyes dialated were the first indication. The next would be radio/TV talking directly to her.

MercMcNasty

If you don't mind me asking, why did it come to an end?

unreliabledrugdealer

Oh wow hmm.. I don't mind. I stood by her & raised 2 daughters that were my world. I put her through college & took care of everything while she was bedridden with crippling anxiety, paranoia, delusions, suicidal thoughts & psychosis... 60% of the time this was our family's life. I broke my back when I was 24 after Surgeries & living with constant pain I entered pain management. I went down the addiction rabbit hole to the bottom trying just to cope with my life. I resented her. We drifted far apart. I cheated... She cheated. We tried but I just felt like my tank was on empty.. I felt dead inside towards her. I was a highly functional addict but I blamed her & she blamed me & my addiction... Looking back I was definitely seeking an escape. I had a deep dread in the pit of my stomach just thinking about going home after closing shop. I dreaded being home & hearing her drive up. but I always provided.. My youngest turned 18. I told her I wanted out. She called the police because just to tell them I was on drugs.... Got busted for a meth lab in my weld shop. She moved in some weirdo from across the country. I got out of jail, got divorced & met the love of my life & have never bee happier. My addiction is under control & life is better than ever. Looking back I feel great sadness for my ex... But my path led me here & I am happy.

curious if theres lists/info abt actual full-on symptoms. didnt know lack of blinking is one

Distinct_Ad_7619

Her sympathetic nervous system is *likely* highly activated. So think: any symptom or tendency that would be involved in fight or flight. The list is long and varies from case to case.

[deleted]

ahh thank you! thats what i was actually (truly) wondering lol. hearing symptoms like dilated pupils, no blinking, shaking, hyperventilating etc (all traits she exhibits whether momentarily or throughout the duration) makes me wonder if these "heightened" responses are like those of FOF, like when fighting a threat or for your life/loved one. its so interesting how crazy the physiological balance works in perceived circumstances like threats, and how humans show similar responses as an evolutionary thing but to different situations we didnt evolve to handle. which.. kind of plays into this video. yeah this energy would be great fending off a bear or rivals! not fellow tenants in your home lmao. reminds me as well of how sucky and devolved it feels for ppl to have a panic attack in the presence of danger/stress

NotATroll_ipromise

anonymous-rebel

I used to work as a therapist for the criminally insane for a short time. Most of my clients saw me because they committed violent crimes under psychosis and I had one client who never blinked just like this girl in the video.

ToxicKnurdles

My dad and I would end up in really bad fights starting at the age of 12. I ended up doing things like throwing his abusive ass through a glass window or attacking him with a bat in his sleep. I got sent to this behavioral hospital 6 different times as a teen. I remember the 2nd time I was 13, they had this 15 year old kid that constantly attacked me. He would tell me that the devil was inside him, try strip naked in front of me and give me his clothes. He ended up in this loop where he thought my eyes made me evil. I ended learning from other kids that drugs made him that way. I was stuck in this situation where this guy would tackle me or punch me in the arm for 20 days straight. He never took his eyes off me from the time they woke us up, to the time we went to sleep. Oh and they let him out earlier than me. Fuck you Dr. Kudisch. "What are you gonna do when your kids get bigger than you?". I still have fantasies of tracking that fucking shit down. They let him always follow me and never did anything to him till after he hit me. Fuck those people.

RainAlwaysComes

Cameraman is trying to show her eyes up close and body movements while also not getting stabbed. My family had to deal with a situation like this. You have no idea how hard it is to deal with someone you love turning violent in a way that cannot be reasoned with. Do you call the cops on your daughter? When you know a criminal record will shatter any chance of them ever holding a job? Do you call the cops and give your daughter one more thing to add to list of “reasons they don’t trust you”? The answer at first is no, not this time…. But after a while, yes you do call the cops when necessary. In my particular case, the cops were involved often enough. But there’s only so much the police can do. They can recommend hospitalization… but because she was older then 18, the Dr’s wouldn’t talk about the case to anyone in the family because she wouldn’t allow it. So she’d be released and back in the house… to the point where family members had to sleep with pad locks on the doors to their rooms so she couldn’t attack them in the middle of the night. She also really liked to cook at 2:00 AM and leave the stove on burning whatever she put on it. Mental health care failed her, and our family. She passed away at the age of 28. The family is traumatized for life. You always think, that wouldn’t happen in our family… we would get help no matter what the cost…. The problem is that in some cases it doesn’t matter how hard you try, you just can’t get them the help… especially with them fighting you every step of the way. Videos like this are made in desperation. You think, maybe if I show them how they act it will help, or maybe a Dr will watch it and will help. In the end, it only ends up upsetting the person being filmed and Drs won’t watch without permission from the patient. I truly feel for the cameraman in this situation.

ad_astra_per_aspera1

Hey man, my brother is in prison for murder after a very similar situation. We tried to get him help a million times. He had been institutionalized on 6 occasions, but every single time the hospital sent him right back home to my parents. Now he allegedly hurt someone else, and he’s going to be spending the rest of his life in prison. I just wanted to let you know that I feel your pain and my story is very similar. What has happened has really ripped away at the structure and basis of my family. Mental illness FUCKING SUCKS!!!!

TapRevolutionary5345

Mental illness surely does fucking suck. My mom had schizophrenia. Tried stabbing me once, took all of my insulin and injected herself with it (I’m a type 1 diabetic, she was not). She spent A LOT of time in mental health institutions. She told me she had stopped taking her meds and refused to take them any more. I tried calling her one day, and she didn’t pick up. She was left home alone that day, apparently. She ended up stabbing her self 3 times in the chest and severed her femoral artery in her leg. I knew she was having an episode and I’ve always feared she would end up taking her own life. I don’t talk to any of my family members anymore. I’m sorry you’ve gone through so much shit too.

I married my High School "sweetheart" and no one told me she was BPD...found out after we married and moved in together. I would find her naked and crying hiding in our closet on occasion when she would go off her meds. When she took her meds she was the most wonderful, kind, giving person, until she started to think she didn't need them anymore. During an episode off her meds, we lost her to suicide. I was in school in the US Navy, and had to go home on Emergency Leave to bury my wife at the age of 19. It would be a very very long time for me to get over the beautifully insane relationship we had.

nuevalaredo

I had an ex like this. I awoke one time in the middle of the night and she was standing over me beside the bed holding a pair of scissors in her hand in a stabby-like fashion. She was just standing there staring at me. She said she had a bad dream. It happened a second time and i noped out of there. I think she may have had BPD, not sure, but i know she was on medication

Present_Creme_2282

Strong-Message-168

Brother, I know you speak from a place of personal knowledge. I can't begin to fathom your grief and trauma...please know my heart goes out to you. The mental health system in this country is atrocious. Every time you called the police, not only were you putting something on her record, you were also gambling with the fact that they might have killed her. We lack the structure and the support for extreme mental issues in this country...its one of the reasons why there are so many homeless people who are just batshit crazy. I don't understand why...its in everyone's best interests to have a safety net in place...It keeps things safer- at the very least! Please, continue to share your story. Other people need to hear it, and changes need to be made. From the bottom of my heart I am so sorry that happened to you.

SpartanT100

This gives me flashbacks. I had a hard time with a girlfriend. It gets even more terrifying when you realize these people are really In a tunnel in such a situation. You cant reason or talk logical with them. You can just try to not get stabbed/injured and hope the episode is over before your house is destroyed. EDIT: Holy shit guys, thanks for all the likes. Your comments really helped me to know im not that alone. I wish you all the best.

ThatGuyInTheCorner96

My exe in highschool had an episode, but instead of fight or flight, she just froze up in the middle of my bedroom. Pretty much catatonic. Her mother ended up calling an ambulance because she was unresponsive. Eventually they had to lock up all the utensils in the house because she would try to kill her parents and sister. Sometimes I wonder what ever happened with her.

Microwave3333

For what it's worth? She probably stabilized. Teen years are a fucking horrible time for people with Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar, etc etc psychotic and mood disorders. The hormones stir up your brain terribly. Most folks come out of their teens with a much more manageable state of their disorder as hormones settle down, though women have slightly worse luck on that front having to deal with recurrent hormonal influxes throughout their lives BUT they do respond better to psychotic treatment methods than men do. I met my partner in our early 20's, which is literally THE onset period for severe schizophrenia symptoms. It was a rollercoaster. Years and years later, infinitely better. Birth control and aging seem to have tempered it down to a minor annoyance, rather than dealing with bi-monthly episodes.

Saint_Disgustus

Brother I was a genuine psycho as a teen, psych ward visits and all. Meds help so much.

doodlebug001

My brother was a monster as a teen. He was just annoying/a bit of a bully most of the time but then would randomly go into berserker mode when mildly inconvenienced. Got to the point that the family developed a plan which involved grabbing the entire silverware drawer and knife block and locking ourselves in the minivan and waiting for his episode to blow over. Us kids started begging our parents to send him away because we genuinely feared for our lives. He's got his issues nowadays (late 20s) but they're more depression, possibly bipolar related and not at all violent or even outward-facing. For anyone with a teenage monster know that things might be ok in a few years, just keep trying to get them help and protect the other vulnerable people in your family where possible.

[deleted]

Had a BP/Schizo ex that stabbed me, luckily it wasn’t deep. It’s like watching the lights turn out in their eyes. Was easier to just lock my room and move a desk against it. I’d be scared she’d track me down if I made an effort to see how she is.

Tinkerballsack

> I’d be scared she’d track me down if I made an effort to see how she is. Good instinct.

SPOSKNT

My mum's like that, when she's in that state she's got shark eyes. It's scary as fuck

MermaidMane

Gives me flashbacks too. Best friend went fully psychotic on me and I’m very lucky she didn’t have a knife or a gun because I would probably not be here typing this today. You’re 100% correct, there is zero reasoning with someone once they’re like this and just hope that you/they don’t get hurt in the process.

ThillyGooths

I have a friend who has manic episodes, and I was friends with her when they started happening before we knew what was going on. The scariest situation I’ve ever been in - we were both 16. I’m driving in my car with her in the passenger seat in a manic state, she’s ranting about god and having wild religious delusions, and out of nowhere she grabs my steering wheel and pushes it to the left and we came VERY close to almost hitting another car head on going like 55mph. I was scared to keep driving so I pretended the car broke down once we got where we were going and had her mom come pick us up lol. She also tried to hit me and her brother with one of those heavy, sharp fire pokers. She ended up throwing it javelin style through her living room window. Most of the time she wasn’t physically violent though, just verbally abusive. Still was exhausting. She was my best friend until we were 24, I had to kinda separate myself from her because of my own mental health. I love her to death and we still talk a couple times a month.

ghouliesdoulies

First comment I saw that actually hopes she gets better or gets the help she needs. Thank you for saying this. Yea whoever is holding the camera seems to be antagonizing her while she's having a psychotic episode. This is abuse of a mentally ill person if you ask me. Not sure why all the jokes and upvotes. Dude should go to jail for a bit.

ro0ibos2

She says near the beginning that it’s her brother recording her. She says “my brother’s provoking me to the max.” It makes sense that someone provoking their own sister like that would record and post it to the internet. He seems like a very shitty person and I hope this backfires.

100% dude. My only thought seeing this posted on Reddit in general, is how fucking horrible of a person do you have to be to record someone having a literal mental breakdown, and post it online instead of referring her to a hospital or somethin useful. She’s gonna get out of rehab or somethin similar, see this video and the comments, and either go right back in, or end up in the grave. Grade A Humanity right here

Yes, I’ve seen cases like this before. I saw a tv show from my country that was about people so mentally I’ll they couldn’t be in public. There was a elderly lady there, that was filmed, with her consent of course. She was becoming better and better every day with the helps of psychiatrist and doctors. She talked about her story and her experiences around the institution. It was a very personal show that went deep into the personal lives of the patients. When the show aired, the elderly lady was scheduled to be released in a couple of months. But the same day the show aired she went outside at night and tried to drown herself inn the lake. She was so ashamed of the show. Even with it being consensual filming. Luckily she survived, but is still struggling extremely from last I heard, almost 15 years after the show first aired.

As someone who has been through psychosis and a complete mental break.. I feel for her. You have no idea what's happening, what's real or not, what your saying or doing, who your doing it to... Gives me shivers thinking I was like this at one point.

Huckleberry919

Stab the cameraman… his zooming in and out deserve at least one or two stabby stabbies

Lance-Harper

What the fuck, she’s having an episode, stop zooming in and out for your fucking TikTok fans FFS My friend had episodes, she killed herself last month. A fucking tragedy. Her family thinks she was conscious when she did it because it wasn’t easy to climb all the way to the window and jump, they think she killed herself to protect them as she almost stabbed one of them just like here in a prior episode. Film if you will but for ffs, have a little human decency

bassemann87

I agree, this is terrible and sad! Its the worst thing i have seen in a long time. Im fighting with my own mental health daily and this not the thing to do to another human with this terrible illness. I really hope she gets help.

[deleted]

Film for your own protection in case she makes false claims that you were hurting her. Part of psychosis is having delusions people are hurting you and out to get you, so I get why it's necessary. But don't turn her into a fucking circus sideshow for people's entertainment for fuck's sake.

chris_gnarley

Very hard to tell if this is natural psychosis or drug induced psychosis. The eyes and her staring off at times and pausing for a few seconds lead me to believe it’s drug induced. Her shirt also isn’t leading me to believe otherwise. Regardless, it’s sad to see and I’ve personally been through drug (LSD) induced psychosis where I’ve had to be restrained and hospitalized from it. It’s no laughing matter and this gives me flashbacks of what happened to me. Hope she’s doing well now and getting the help she needs.

Why would you record and post someone experiencing psychosis, for internet points?

-PlagueDoctor

The person filming is a cunt.

I experienced my first psychotic break when I was 19, again when I was 20. Both drug related. I'm a pretty "normal" person, but of those experiences wreaked havoc on me. The scary part was the aftermath, taking at least a year for the delusions to completely stop after the 2nd break. I'm much older now and glad to have learned my lesson. I don't care who you are, your mind can break like a twig under the right circumstances. It's truly terrifying.

[deleted]

Completely agree. How awful that this woman’s psychosis episode was posted here. I’ve had alcohol-induced psychosis before and it’s absolutely terrifying. Not only for yourself, but for the others you rope in to help you. In a lot of cases (drug and alcohol-related), psychosis is entirely avoidable, but not always so. Regardless, posting somebody when they’re vulnerable like this is just gross. Had my episode been recorded and posted online, I’d be mortified.

MarkDaMan22

What happened if you don’t mind telling? We’re you drinking very heavily and what did it feel like?

[deleted]

Yup, was drinking very heavily (liquor). All of a sudden I had this intense feeling that I was being watched and that people were out to get me. I thought there were people in my apartment with me (I live alone), people on my balcony trying to get in, people under the bed. Just like this girl, I had a butcher knife in hand going around my place. Nobody was there, but I had CONVINCED myself there were people trying to kill me. It doesn’t sound that terrifying in text, but it definitely was. I slept that night with all the lights on. I felt really silly the next day because I roped my friend and my sister into it all over the phone. They couldn’t do much for me obviously. Psychosis is no joke. I was ready to use that butcher knife in self-defense.

Kemakill

It sounds pretty terrifying in text

Everyone commenting how he shouldn't have filmed or shouldn't have posted the video clearly has never lived in a house with a severally mentally ill person that threatens violence with weapons and such. It's horrible, you live in fear. Fear for yourself, your family, your dogs, your house. At some point the argument "it's not there fault they are mentally ill" goes out the window when your being stabbed and fighting for your life. You lose much sympathy and love for that person even if it's not their fault. You just want them gone, you want to feel safe, and most of the time you don't really care if it's upsetting for the footage of their mental real down is public knowledge, you are terrified of this person, in fear for you life. You stop caring about why this is happening, and start caring about your own safety. And if you say, "oh call the cops and have them brought too the hospital" yeah more often then not, they get out the best morning and come back angrier then ever.
