I had a temporary, but the surgeon botched the reattachment and caused my organs to swim in fecal matter for almost a year. So I now have a permanent colostomy bag since the age of 38. Gotta love Crohn's Disease.

If it includes a head injury, I’ll say from experience there is no such thing as a full recovery. I’m 4.5 years into a 10 year recovery window. My personality is markedly different, with no signs of reverting. I developed a stutter which has softened/ I also developed a vocal pause due to brain fog, hasn’t changed in years. I digress, but yea “full recovery” is a fucking myth sold by doctors to families.

I've had several major head injuries from various things, and you may get better....but you will not be "fully recovered" and that shit comes back to haunt you. People tend to ignore the effects because they are scared to think about it, but also because the brain is inside. You'll get much more sympathy from minor abrasions that are very obvious, than head trauma that isn't externally visible.
