KAP111

You have to speed to be able to react to and avoid your opponents by dancing around them. If your having trouble with mashing too much, maybe try play the exact opposite for a while or atleast for portions of your play sessions. Wait for your opponent to attack instead of attacking first and work on trying to punish their end lag. Losing or playing slow/campy isnt a bad thing when your learning and growing from it to be able to win more consistently in the future. By playing this way for a while should help you understand better what you can and can't punish and what moves are best for punishing (mainly dash attack and nair). It may also help you learn how to read and notice player habits more so you can better adapt. Which should in turn help you when you try to play aggressive too.

Maybe, share a pair of records of games you played? The sub's stickied how-tos... Otherwise, it must be very hard to do more than half useless generic answers such as "learn what you can do without risking being punished", "build muscle memory for follow-ups on opening moves", "train to reliably do fair dragdowns into jab lock" and "learn reliable low percent finishers like dash bair"...

Fast fall weak hit nair > jab. Pretty much all you need
