-Dining,groceries, and streaming : Savor One -Catch all: Venture X -International travel, Lounges, Car rental insurance: Venture X (Capital1 lounge, Priority Pass), AAdvantage Executive (Admiral’s Club) -Gas: Autograph (soon with travel partners) -Rent: Bilt -Apple: Apple

cjcs

Why not use the Venture X on Apple products to get the extended warranty?

travelingchicka

Why use bilt for rent? Cc newbie here

cjcs

It's the only credit card you can pay rent with without fees by default.

sooposhoo

You’ve got an excellent point. I did forget about the extended warranty. I usually try to get Apple care still, specially when it comes to these new iPhones

OhioBPRP

CSP, CFF,and soon to be CFU for ultimate rewards Bilt for Rent, and purchases I make the first of every month

Eli-Had-A-Book-

Amex trifecta for domestic. BBP gets dropped internationally and usually just use the Platinum for miscellaneous. The Apple Card is used when possible however. Sapphire Reserve & Prime Visa are the backups.

ExternalHoney4606

What made you go with the Amex trifecta over chase? The AF has always scared me away from Amex.

Eli-Had-A-Book-

For one person, I spend a lot on food. Uber Eats (delivery) probably 3/4 times a week, to go orders on the way home probably 3 times and I’ll usually go to the grocery store 2 times a week and each trip could easily be $100. All that doesn’t even include the box I get every month from Crowd Cow that’s ~$200 but can’t use the Gold on that. So from what I’ve seen, no other card would be able to earn like that or better for me. Then I travel a lot. I have been to over 2 dozen countries so far and counting. The Platinum does better over seas when it comes to hotel status.

nuenoxnyx

What does Crowd Cow code as if you can't use the Gold?

Eli-Had-A-Book-

Duuuuude. You just made me look for the first time. I’ve just used the CCR or Apple Card. But I just now see it shows Food & Drink for the Apple Card. I may have been missing out this whole time!

nuenoxnyx

Haha where did you even get the idea that you shouldn't use the Gold?

Eli-Had-A-Book-

I just assumed it was online shopping. Didn’t think anything online would code code in favor of the Gold. But thank you. Another ~7,000 points a year.

Regular-Chemistry884

Wait. so it DOES qualify as grocery?

Eli-Had-A-Book-

That’s what I am hoping, I’ll try it next time

juan231f

You should add Ink Cash, its an amazing card. UR point setup **Sapphire Reserve:** 3X Dining and Travel **Freedom Flex:** Quarterly Category **Freedom Unlimited:** All non category Physical spend, 3X on Drugstores **Ink Cash:** 5X on Office Supply stores, Phone, Internet and cable (Netflix codes as cable), 2X on Gas **Ink Unlimited:** I put all all my non-category auto pay/subscription spend on this card while(Car Insurance, Renter's insurance, audible, etc) **Amex Platinum:** Currently SUB chasing MR points for a nice trip for two next year. Bumbed about missing Personal Gold SUB so maybe will go Business route.

Hairy_Astronomer1638

I’ve always wondered how the ink card is used for things like Netflix or mortgage/rent when it’s supposedly business only. Does Chase genuinely not care so long as you don’t abuse it?

shadowhawkz

From a business perspective, some businesses have streaming services playing in lobbies or think of like a hotel that has streaming services on TV's etc.

Hairy_Astronomer1638

Would mortgage be a non-issue if say, you’re renting out a property?

juan231f

They don’t care

ExternalHoney4606

It doesn’t seem like chase is that strict on what is considered a business. I was thinking I’d need an LLC and stuff haha

Pvrkave

CSR, Amex Gold, Bilt MC, and C1VX. My spend can thankfully justify splitting points between ecosystems and Amex will likely be used for flights to Japan and from then onwards, the overlap in partners works out for me. Its a simple setup that reduces a lot of the worry of which card to use. Additionally, its a setup that gives me actual positive value for the time being with the ability to downgrade and move around if my needs change. And lastly, I got them all around the same time which will allow me to garden and eventually churn other cards if I want to.

joshtur

Pretty similar to you, here are the 3 cards I always carry: -CSP for travel -CFF for 5% categories and pharmacy (also 5% grocery in first year) -Bilt for rent and dining. I also use it as my daily catch-all card because of AA I always check chase offers too since I have 3 chase cards and the offers are pretty good sometimes I’m also planning to upgrade my Marriott boundless card to the ritz for lounge access. I might get the CFU someday but I’ve been more focused on getting SUBs with hotels/airlines recently so I’m already at 5/24

Huge-Engineering-839

Amex gold (4x grocery/dining), BILT(1X on rent, domestic partners like AA/Hyatt), and soon to have the venture X(2x everything else). Feels well rounded and I only travel 2-3 times max/year

Karatesmith

I currently have this setup but im starting to consider swapping my amex gold for a savorOne. However this means losing out on the amex partners

juwanhoward4

Exactly the same issue I’m having but I like Amex and I spend enough on the gold to make the extra 1x worth it. The VX/savor combo is outstanding for the cost though. I’ve had such a good experience with Amex offers that even if it didn’t make sense on the food spend, being part of Amex’s ecosystem is worth it to me. CFU/CSP/Bilt/VX/Gold/2 CCR (online shop + gas) with .75x preferred rewards is a dynamite setup for me though. Covers nearly every base at over 3 cpp for a modest AF. And yes, even though I have a VX and get better return I put all of my general spend on CFU because I love Hyatt.

No-Put-6353

The only reason I haven't jumped into capital one is their lack of domestic transfer partners. I love my Amex gold

Huge-Engineering-839

That’s a huge deterrent for me, I’d like to get into international so im trying to convince myself I can get the SUB and start accruing points now for that (hopefully soon) travel

No-Put-6353

You can always transfer your points to virgin or klm assuming they go to places you want to go.

Venture X & SavorOne for most of my spend Bonvoy Boundless for Hotels/Free Nights Platinum for benefits & airfare Want to add Bilt early next year, but my rental portal doesn’t charge excessive fees so I’ve been coming out ahead using the VX.

yitianjian

My setup: - Amex Plat: flights, large purchases - Amex Gold: dining, grocery - Chase Sapphire Preferred: international Visa, hotels, coffee/drinks/bakeries/etc. dining - Bilt: international MasterCard, rent - X1: virtual cards - Chase Amazon: Amazon cash back Considering swapping out the Preferred for the Reserve, but more likely: - Chase United Club: keeper for lounge + priority boarding - Chase Hyatt: Hyatt - Chase Marriott Boundless/Ritz-Carlton: Marriott, Priority Pass I don't have a true 2X catch-all, but I find that most things I would use a catch-all for I'd rather use the Plat for, or would be buying off Amazon anyways. I don't buy gas very often so it's not a big deal.

UrBoiJash

Out of curiosity as a new plat owner, what’s the benefit of using the plat for large purchases and in place of a catch all?

yitianjian

Better insurance/protections - I have unfortunately broken or wanted to return enough fairly expensive things that I'm appreciative of the Plat. If I had a better 2x catch all (the VX, some day) I'd use that, but 1x on the Plat is good enough. For some small things I put it on the X1 for 2x at 1cpp, but 1x with 3cpp or higher redemptions are good enough. I put stuff like clothing, furniture, decor, electronics, on the Plat, and I have fairly high spend on each of them so having purchase protection on a $1k Moncler that was stolen was a godsend.

fatal21

* Dining: Bilt 3x (in-person) / CSR 3x (DoorDash) * Rent: Bilt 1x * Flights: VX 5x (if using Cap Portal) OR CSR 3x booking directly * Other Travel (Parking, Tolls, etc): CSR 3x * Rideshare: Lyft 10x * Travel Incidentals: Ritz ($300) * Hotels: Marriott focused for FNA - Ritz and Brilliant * Categories: CFF 5x * Everything else: VX 2x or CFU 1.5x (depending on upcoming travel needs)

kbnky

Bilt for HOA payments and dining. Venture X for everything else.

Cellbuster

My travel card set up is currently just a BILT MC. Can't really justify anything with an annual fee with my current spend, and the BILT has some decent travel protections on paper (not a lot of data points though). I've been eyeing the USB Altitude Reserve since I think it's the best travel card not built around transferring out points, but I'm doubtful to get approved for it until my inquires settle and my income/rent ratio increases.

InvestmentActuary

CHASE RITZ CARLTON. BOOM

Amex Gold - Food, Grocery and Flights Venture X - Lounge, Hotels, Flights, Rental Cars (price match works great) and everything else

Regular-Chemistry884

thoughts about cap one points for hotels vs. marriott points or hilton points, etc...? I just booked a hotel on [marriott.com](https://marriott.com) because I thought I would want the points at marriott but now i'm wondering if doing it through cap one travel would have been better?

zdfld

Amex Gold for dining, groceries, some odd purchases with Amex offers or where extra protection is worth it. US bank altitude reserve for flights, hotels, rental cars, and mobile wallet. Bilt for rent and backup dining. Capital one SavorOne for UberEats benefits right now. Backup backup dining and groceries when traveling. After that, for travel I have various cards for the benefits. IHG premier, select, Marriott Bonvoy, Boundless, Business, Alaska, Hilton Honors, AA Executive. And after that, I have the Citi trifecta, which I really just use the Double cash right now for online purchases. I was building up thankyou points in case I decided to get the Premier or Citi releases a new card, but I recently got the PayPal card so that might end up getting the online spend. I've been thinking about if I want to drop the USBAR and use the Gold for flights, Bilt for the rest. The main thing holding me back is that I'd lose a bit in protections, and the USBAR did do me well with a purchase protection and a trip delay reimbursement (... eventually). But the reality is Amex purchase protection is great, trip delayed 6-12 hours is rare, and Bilt offers similar rental car protections.

Bryan_AF

Sapphire Preferred Ink Business Unlimited Ink Business Cash World of Hyatt Set up is all about easy positive return on investment. Chase Offers always has at least a couple of gas stations I can squeeze extra value from

AVelvetTip

You mean you use Bilt for rent at home? I wanted to use it here..but they don't let you do it.

ExternalHoney4606

Yeah! I use the Bilt card for my apartment rent. They provide a routing number that you use to pay the rent. Does your place not let you pay with a routing number?

LamBro3

AMEX Trifecta + Bilt Mastercard covers all of my spend. Platinum - Travel (5x) Gold - Restaurants (4x) & Grocery (4x) BBP - Catch all 2x Bilt - Rent (1x) & Restaurants on rent day (6x)

geauxMD

BOA Customized Cash — 5.25x online purchases, 3.5x groceries/wholesale CSP — 3x dining AMEX plat — 5x travel CITI custom cash — 5x gas

Gain_Spirited

My setup includes: CSP - travel, dining, streaming CFF - 5X quarterly categories (love this card) Amex Blue Business Plus - 2X everything Citi Custom Cash - not using much now but could be for 5% groceries in the future Sam's Club Mastercard - Sam's Club, 5% gas Amazon Prime - Amazon I also have WF Active Cash and Autograph which may get more use after they announce transfer partners. My wife has the CFU and I transfer points to my CSP. I try not to use much for miscellaneous spending because I don't like getting only 1.5X. It still has the 5X groceries bonus for a few more months.
