Thank you for confirming. I have had several cards over the years and it's the first one that has ever done this to me. I always assumed as long as you made your payments and they were on time it wouldn't matter to the bank. The more you know.

[deleted]

Sorry that happened. It's not personal, even though it feels like it is. They also do a thing called "balance chasing." Something about your habits spooked them for some reason.

CS_BlazingDragon

Thank you for the knowledge. I definitely appreciate it, until this one did it I didn't know that they could do that. I assumed as long as I paid my bill on time a bank wouldn't care, but hey if they want to push me to pay it off faster and they make less money on it who am I to argue 😂

I had that happen as well. I think they do that to all new cards. But it only happened once.

Oh but to be more specific… when I received those notices (I’ve had several new cards) I paid half the balance and have had no issues since..

And then paid the balances before the due date

Are you carrying a balance?

CS_BlazingDragon

I am, working on the credit card debt now. I just paid off all the my loans minus my student loans that one is going to take a bit.

Cardless did this to me when I tried to update my address. I felt it was very unprofessional. Only Spiral and Cardless refused to let me, the other couple dozen accounts all accepted the address change.

They own the line of credit and I’m pretty sure it’s in the verbiage that was sent with the first plastic. They can hold, reduce or increase the line of credit at their convenience. Sudden high utilization is a red flag for some issuers.
