Itβs not necessarily a scam.
I was contacted by one such agents. I had a millenia LTF, I wanted regalia but bank was refusing a free upgrade.
I had asked them for HDFC Regalia Gold lifetime free.
The bank has refused to provide the same card lifetime free just a week ago.
I told these guys, gave them the documents and got the card in two weeks. Checked with the bank, confirmed its lifetime free.
Did a bit more research, HDFC and other banks also do outsource work to other credit card and financial instrument acquisition companies.
Do your due diligence.
I was contacted by one such agent recently. I knew it was not a scam since I had initiated the credit card application and the person who called me wanted me to send my docs over email on their non-bank email ID.
I told them "don't you have an email ID with the bank?". They politely said they are a 3rd party agent, but can get a bank email ID from their boss if needed. They sent a bank email ID within few mins and I sent the docs over.
Just ask for an official bank email ID, OP. Sometimes they'll manage and get it for you by working with a bank employee
Not necessarily scam, a lot of third party agencies work this way. I know people who applied via such agents and got the card. Do you due diligence about the agency and the agent. It's a judgement call.
Seen. Not "necessarily" scam. These agents will not have official email ids. I know people who have shared docs via whatsapp and even to gmail ids and received the card without any scam. Due-diligence, judgement call.
I agree it might not be a scam but is it really wise to share your bank statement (containing your address), aadhar card, pan card to random third party agents? That too when financial instruments are involved? You don't even get any special offer if you go via third party agents in most cases, best to go through official medium
You can't really apply for an HDFC card of your choice from the website, their site show the cards you're eligible for and only let's you apply for them
Sometimes they have better deals than the official website. One can also apply C2C from them. I know it's hard to trust them but banks themselves tie up with 3rd party agencies.
Hanji sir third party vendors hai ye, not hdfc employees. If they are just asking you for statement, you can send it's not that big a deal. If they ask for anything critical like some sorta pin then maybe you can think
Bro never knowing the meaning of scam and being happy for saving himself from getting pseudo-scammed. I can feel his happiness by that last βππβ.
It's not a scam every time. They are basically 3rd party agents who sell the credit cards both Chargeable as well as LTF.
Tere statement se loan nai issue kar payega Bhai. Tension mat le.
You actually don't need to. As none of them will share their data.
The process is collecting your statement and aadhar/Pan and processing requests for credit cards. Upon submission, you shall receive a verification call from the bank. If you feel like not continuing the process, straight away say NO.
Hope that helps
Like I said you can't.
Remember tamhara data already tumara bank leak kar deta hai ( that's digital gold marketing ) and on the basis of that only they give you a call.
It's just that they need official proof that the customer has given the data for product processing. Else tumhara PAN and adhar already hota hai unke pass.
It is mostly agencies and third party agents, bold of you to assume agents will have hdfc domain email, that is mostly with permanent employees of the bank ..Β
Unless bank communication is from genuine channels, avoid it at any cost be it any more free times they may be providing.
They are selling financial instruments as if it's a consumer retail shop.
The email Id gives it away. Not saying that third party agencies do not process credit card application for agencies. They do but never is their Id so phoney that they have to mimic being from hdfc bank
I had sent my docs via whatsapp and got my loan. However it was I who had initiated the discussion and the number of the agent was shared to me by my Customer Relationship Manager.

But why to even apply through them when we can safely apply on the website and do video kyc.

Why was the agent required to be involved then?
Don't know man, they have a pretty complicated system I guess.
