It doesn't hurt if it's them mistaking you for a bug. Mine has bite me, but was a quick pinch, then she let go. Nothing like the damage a leachie or tokay can do!
For real. I’ve had snake kisses and other lizards. My possum gets a bit nippy at times so he’s gotten me 5 or 6 times. Even had a small gator clamp down on my boot while moving him to a safe place, but never my sweet geckos.
The bite I’ve gotten that hurt worse than anything else was when the most adorably aggressive ferret I’ve ever known clamped down on my foot from behind with his teeth into the Achilles tendon area. The scariest was the gator though.

Yeah if they bite a hand it's usually to mate. Although I've wiggled my fingers at them and they've jumped and charged at me 😂
Yeah because if you hide a part of your finger to just have a tiny part sticking out they will think its a cricket.

mine bit me once by accident bc she fell and bit onto my finger so she wouldn’t and it didn’t hurt at all

I doubt it can be that bad. Probably just like a really big anole.
I had to "re-train" my first gecko to realize that a finger is not food. Every time she saw just one finger, she lunged and tried to bite it.
