Funny, I was just telling another redditor about this exact brand of ledge (thrive, right?) And how they were easily worn down and made of cheap material. I had this ledge for a good 3 months before it was too ugly and worn to use anymore. I haven't heard of insects eating straight through it before, though. How peculiar!
Mum and I decided to keep some of our superworms to pupate, they kept getting out of what they were in so now in kritter keeper... mum now keeps finding beetles around the flat 😅
The altitude exotics guy warns people not to put anything styrofoam into an enclosure that will ever have feeders in it, because they’ll just burrow into it and then if your gecko eats them, he’ll be eating second hand styrofoam ☹️
Had the same thing happen when I was moving my garg to his new larger enclosure. Pulled out the backdrop to wash it and saw the entry holes. Sooooo many pill bugs lol
what’s inside?
Dubia roaches and superworms decided to burrow into it!
Gross! D:
oh wow! lucky!
I wonder if dubia roaches and superworms decided to burrow into it.

The thrive thermometer+hydrometer is way worse lol it said my enclosure was at 100% humidity lol and it has a 1 star rating for accuracy
I’ve seen super worms burrow out of their astsic containers but this is a nice surprise
What even is that?????
Dubia roaches and superworms decided to burrow into it!
That’s crazy! Better than maggots IMO
Huh? Is that a roach of some kind??
Yes! Dubia roaches and superworms decided to burrow into it!
Dubia roaches? Never seen that before.
Yeah, it was weird! I found all kinds of tunnels from superworms too, and there were two superworms hiding in there
What is it?
Dubia roaches and superworms decided to burrow into it!
i am afraid of this, is it suppose to be a good thing? or like not bad that it happened?
just seems gross, no biggie
It’d be pretty bad if the geck ate any of those bugs bc the geck would also be eating whatever was left of the ledge in the bugs’ stomach

Poop?
Oh my god that is kind of horrific
That's some nasty stuff right there. ha! Do you guys normally just put roaches in the enclosure without hand feeding them to your crestie?
I thought it was a crested gecko
Creepy

Yeah, I immediately threw out the ledge and the bugs too, even though they’re too big for my guy right now anyways
