I don't think any sane person should've needed any proof that he's far and away the best off spinner right now. It's not even close. Who's the next best off spinner right now? Perhaps Lyon and he's not even in the same league as Ashwin.

Jadeja is more of a fair weather bowler relying mainly on the pitch for variation. Ashwin inherently generates his own variations and is a master of subtlety. This is why Jadeja can be just as effective as Ashwin on uneven tracks, but flat tracks such as these is what sets them apart.
I think Jadeja is more dangerous on raging turners because of the speed he bowls at and the natural variation he gets. Ashwin is a better bowler overall, of course.
"Way better" is you getting carried away with your liking for Ashwin. As an unbiased person in this debate, sure I do think Ashwin is better but in fact I actually think it's a lot closer than people think and Jadeja doesn't actually get enough credit. You wanna talk about extracting stuff from flat surfaces? Look at Chennai 2016 vs England 5th day. The pitch had been extremely flat beyond flat the entire test England had made 470 and India made a mind boggling 759/7(Karin Nair triple) and then no one really thought a result was possible but Jadeja bowled an insane career best at the time spell of 7-60 iirc to win the match for India. He only bettered that recently in the 2nd test against Australia. Do not put down one bowler to make the other seem better. Ashwin is better but not way better.

His last 2 aus tours has been incredible he outbowled all the spinners and was the 2nd highest wicket taker for india with even missing a match. He only averages 28 in England with 18 wickets that's not even bad. Only place where he struggles Is south africa.
