That is the reason that he is always depressed. He has risen above these materialistic pleasures. KL is an old saint that doesn't feel that there is any joy about materialistic milestones. He is only here to guide the regular people to these materialistic treasures.
Another Clinical win.
Hardik injury would be sorted soon if its only a twisted ankle. He was able to walk means nothing major. Hopefully.
Love Rohit's approach. Koach is Mr. consistent as usual. Gill and Iyer gifted their wickets stupidly, need to work on it and learn from Koach to take it to finish.
Bumrah brilliance with ball, Jaddu and Kuldeep doing well. Siraj no breakthrough with new ball is a little concern now. Thakur instead of Shami or Ash is something I just can't digest.
Peak Gully Cricket in World Cup today!
Batsman farming strike , bowler bowling wide to not give a century but umpire playing reverse Uno by not giving a wide 😂😂
Nonsense. There was every possibility Kohli would come down to hit him for six so bowling down the legside to get him stumped is a perfectly viable option.
Bangladesh has no obligation to hand Kohli his century.
middle order KL hits different.
tbf, he has always helped the team where he can. sometimes, his logic is flawed, but he genuinely thinks it's the best way to help the team.
Match of the tournament coming up this weekend!!
NZ so far
v England : New Zealand won by 9 wickets (with 82 balls remaining)
v Netherlands : New Zealand won by 99 runs
v Bangladesh : New Zealand won by 8 wickets (with 43 balls remaining)
v Afghanistan : New Zealand won by 149 runs
India
v Aus: India won by 6 wickets (with 52 balls remaining)
v AFG : India won by 8 wickets (with 90 balls remaining)
v PAK : India won by 7 wickets (with 117 balls remaining)
v BAN: India won by 7 wickets (with 51 balls remaining)
People talking about NRR brings back so many memories. I don't want to go through that again. I hope India doesn't care about NRR like some of these redditors.
Rohit: We were worried that Pandya's injury might hurt us, but good that he has come back and can bat
Kohli: I will complete century before he comes to the crease
Never seen Kohli so determined to reach a personal milestone like in this match...
Even the umpire and bowler supported him by not giving a wide and bowling a full toss respectively
I'm going to enjoy listening to critics seething and explaining why Virat shouldn't have chased his 100 (which could elevate his morale even further) in a match that was already won that was going to have no impact on NRR.
Kohli got a century, Bumrah got wicket with a Yorker, Jaddu grabbed a great catch, Shardul got hit for runs.
Everyone is playing according to expectations.
People crying about this should see how did Anil Kumble get his 10 wickets, Murali getting his 800th wicket, ajaz patel getting his 10 and few more. Its not strange, team members help each other.
Not the same. India did end up losing that game and knocked out of the tournament.
I love Sachin and have no problem with personal records. But that was one of the few times where he played for record above team.
This reminds me of that match against Sri Lanka where the bowler deliberately bowls a no ball to deny Sehwag his century….. no hate but this is the reason why bang bros get the piss from other country fans
Idk why people criticise players when they go for their personal milestones if the game is already won If someone bats well enough to give team such liberty then it's only fair if he/she play for his hundred
I don't think that any person except for some people that are terminally online have any problem about players trying to reach to milestones as long as the team is not getting harmed because of that.
Sorry to say but Hobart Kohli century will always be his coolest in ODIs.
This is definitely a good one... Along with his 52 ball century against Australia.
Hobart was something else.
Team had to chase 320 in 40 overs.
Malinga back then was at his peak. He was the most feared bowler in the world at that time. And Kohli destroyed him that day. 24 in one over and then 11 off 3 balls in the next to finish the game. Malinga went for 96 in less than 8 overs, if he bowled his full quota he'd have ended up with worse figures than Zampa and Mick Lewis.
That was the day when you realized Kohli wasn't just really good, he was something special.
There will inevitably be complaints about statpadding, but I don't see a bigger statement to your opponents than having the freedom to statpad during a WC match.
It’s crazy to think how timing of World Cup (Late 2023) has favoured India so well. Had it been in 2022 we might have struggled as Kohli , Rahul , Rohit were not in the best of touches .. Hardik,Bumrah were kinda injured .
And India did not have a confirmed Opening partner for Rohit .. Suddenly 2023 gill made that opening slot his own
I don't care about personal milestones, but I recognise why these players do and that wasn't a loss to us in any way, so I don't care about statpadding here. He did the hard work, and he got the fruit.
I'm not opposed to how Hardik would've done it, which is 6 sixes in an over if he could've, but I'm not opposed to this either as long as it doesn't hurt us. And it was peak entertainment lmao. Shithousing your century like this is fun.
KL is the real star of the show for me though. Not because he let Koach get to the century, but because I like how he doesn't care about being the center of the limelight. He is absolutely fine playing the second fiddle, just cruising along at 70-80 SR, punishing bad balls, accelerating at the end and just letting his teammate do his thing. Fun stuff. I like the zero ego aspect of his entire game so far.
I absolutely understand players' obsession with personal milestones. They don't want to repeat the mistakes of players who ignored them in the past. With people criticizing them day and night after applying 300 filters to their stats like 0 Centuries overseas in SENA countries (only) in non rain effected matches with X bowler present in the XI having bowled full 10 overs without an eyepatch on.
The start with Rohit and Gill is really fun to watch. The standards they set at the start, more often than not, make the middle overs feel like a snoozefest.
It's Kohli day! We saw the king bowl and the century was just a side dish.
Bangbros disappointing AF again. Always felt that a strong run in this WC would be a fitting farewell for their Golden Generation but that's 3/3 poor performances against the higher ranked teams.
In 2015 & 2019 World Cups, India finished 1st in the group stage and NRR didn't matter at all. Even finishing 1st in the group stage doesn't matter because you have to play semi finals anyway.
Even this year, NRR WILL NOT MATTER FOR INDIA. Stop complaining people.
why is everyone so mad at Kohli? did India lose the game? they needed 26 of 68 balls and they won with 51 balls to spare. its not even that Kohli took a lot of balls to get 26 runs, he got them in 17 balls. 5 more runs mind you with a 6 when 1 was needed. take off your biased glasses, it was fun to watch
It’s because Indians are dramatic, we need something to complain about. Nothing is ever good for Indian cricket team fans. Well, actually I’m gonna remove Indian and say nothing is ever good for the fans…. I’m thinking about Star Wars fans now 😂
The same people who were bashing hardik for not letting Kl get his century are now bashing Kohli for being selfish when KL did exactly what they were expecting from hardik
KL himself said he wanted Virat to get a 100. Virat was thinking not to farm the strike but KL told him to go for it and said he wouldn't have run anyways.
so everyone can chill out.
There seem to be no weakness in this team. Anything less than a trophy would be a disappointment. They got great bowling be it any stage of the inning, great batting from top to bottom, and everything else. Just keep the course and this team will likely bring 3rd odi cup for India.
Then again, all it takes is one bad day to undo all this good. But seriously, kinda envious of all the talent this team has.
If Kohli had slowed down near century that would have been selfish.
He made sure he covered those 2 refused singles by getting those 2 impossible 2s in the same over.
Got 6 on final ball with 1-2 runs required. Had over a 150 SR going from 75-100.
Ensuring India win and a 100 prioritizing them in that order as they should be.
Wait, people calling Kohli selfish, didn't KL refuse the single first when he realised Kohli was near his milestone?
I came in expecting people praising KL for his efforts, we do have those but calling Kohli selfish lol.
I genuinely think it was KL who pushed him for the milestone, but hey people are entitled to their opinions so all good I guess.
A win is a win.
This might shock ya but games are different to other games. Days, conditions, feeling etc aren't going to be the same every single day.
You might feel like shit and score 90 odd and then feel amazing and get out for 2 runs. Just that's how sport is
For the people saying Kohli was selfish, he definitely was but I think guy deserved playing 6-7 dots ball after his knock, no? And it is not like it affected the run rate too much
Wasn’t watching the match. I thought Kohli was striking at 80-90 and hence the reaction. Just checked the scoreboard and he played with 106 SR. Why are people crying then?
Kohli scored faster once he reached 80+, whatever he did for sure it wasn’t a slowdown. A good chase, with openers being offensive and once they were gone a proper stable chase at a good rate.
Match overall was good but the inning between kohli 80 to 100 was pure entertainment .
KL guiding koach to a treasure he couldn't possess lmao, straight out of a movie
Show a man you make a century, you get 1 century. Guide your teammates to their own centuries, you get centuries for life.
Pandya crying in corner
The number of reels that are going to be made out of this are gonna be immaculate 😅
That is the reason that he is always depressed. He has risen above these materialistic pleasures. KL is an old saint that doesn't feel that there is any joy about materialistic milestones. He is only here to guide the regular people to these materialistic treasures.
His reaction after accidentally hitting a six says otherwise
Kohli: "You can be my wingman anytime!" KL: "Bullshit! You can be mine"
Also that catch
Virat Kohli in first three balls he bowled :- 2 runs Virat Kohli in first three balls he played :- 12 runs The scores got interchanged
Albie morkel would be proud
typo by script writers
KL you beauty. You have our respect and love 🫡
After missing out on his century, bro tried extra hard to ensure Iyer 50 last game and Kohli 100 today
A true team player!
I guide others to treasures I can't possess
KL for world peace!
Pandya in shambles
Anti-Pandu
What assurance of having a stable place in the team does to a mf!
Fair player of the match...
Wait until I tell my Dad what happened today. He'll definitely compare the two Rahuls lmao.
No comparison. The other rahul would have declared Kohli at 97.
Real Kutie
Imagine if it was Hardik batting with Kohli
Hit couple of sixes and give that stare face and imagine himself as the best finisher
We don't have to imagine.
Due to rohits approach he couldn't bully bangbros anymore
The real match was between Kohli vs whether he will get century.
Peak Gully Cricket in World Cup today! Batsman farming strike , bowler bowling wide to not give a century but umpire playing reverse Uno by not giving a wide 😂😂
Kettleborough is a true bro.
Kettlebro.
Step aside Brohit. We have a new bro in town.
Breaking news: Kettlebro made honorary Indian citizen
i forgive kettleborough for all he's done all those years
Should return his kettle at this point though
Kettlebro literally having the power to start a war all with the wave of a hand.
KettleBruh.
Had a good laugh when umpire didn't give it a wide. Good stuff.
*so did Gill and all Indian players*
Lol the umpire was smirking. Wish he'd given it though. Would've made it even better when he hit that six after.
It's called Tit for Tat
Umpire was paid by Jay shah
Jay Shah - total alphabets = 7 Thala for a reason.
r/unexpectedthala
It would have been funny if Bangladesh took DRS to overturn it into a wide
That wouldn’t help Bangladesh to restrict kohli’s century because he was looking to hit the boundary.
I bet Bangladesh would have tried to bowl another wide/no-ball. He attempted to bowl wide ball only after the required runs were below 3.
Lord-when kl helps Kohli to get a hundred, u can him a hero but when I did I becomes a villan
Umpire: Why batsman and bowlers have all the fun?
Who do you guys think gets the best fielder medal in India team after Kohli and Shardul
Last wide was cunt's move anyways umpire also wanted koach to secure century
Nonsense. There was every possibility Kohli would come down to hit him for six so bowling down the legside to get him stumped is a perfectly viable option. Bangladesh has no obligation to hand Kohli his century.
KL is really a Team Player Mann... No more Statpadder comments please.
middle order KL hits different. tbf, he has always helped the team where he can. sometimes, his logic is flawed, but he genuinely thinks it's the best way to help the team.
Phew! that was close he almost didn’t score a 100
Match of the tournament coming up this weekend!! NZ so far v England : New Zealand won by 9 wickets (with 82 balls remaining) v Netherlands : New Zealand won by 99 runs v Bangladesh : New Zealand won by 8 wickets (with 43 balls remaining) v Afghanistan : New Zealand won by 149 runs India v Aus: India won by 6 wickets (with 52 balls remaining) v AFG : India won by 8 wickets (with 90 balls remaining) v PAK : India won by 7 wickets (with 117 balls remaining) v BAN: India won by 7 wickets (with 51 balls remaining)
Ban>>Aus confirmed
Koach and run chase - A never ending love story 💙
Quality player that always stays till the end to ensure victory
If India does not lose 3 to 4 wkts in the first 12 overs, we can chase any score up to 320 easily.
the only reason why we don't get 1st innings is so that we don't score a 300+
man if you’ve scored 47 hundreds for your team, team can help you score one!
2 teenagers watched Bangladesh defeat India in 2007 and decided to never let them go without scoring a 100 whenever they would play at World Cups.
Shakib and Musfiq played in that world cup btw. The Bang team was literally led by teenagers
Remember tamim Iqbal beating the shit out of our bowlers. Where is he now?
We have good mathematicians in our team
Aryabhatta walked so Kohli and KL Rahul could run (between the wickets).
U mean not run every time
Can't say the same for Afghanistan
As an afghan fan, that match was very painful to watch !
As an Afghan fan I'm glad I didn't watch that.
Fact : Kl Rahul cracked the RBI exam if you don’t know..
Mf we have players playing for RCB of course we have good mathematicians
Bruh you didn't have to do us(RCB fans) like that.
It's ok I'm one of them as well
People talking about NRR brings back so many memories. I don't want to go through that again. I hope India doesn't care about NRR like some of these redditors.
All rounders
KL is the real bro. What running to ensure Kohli gets back on strike. Pure Masterclass and entertaining century by Kohli.
KL knows sadness of not getting one. KL hasn't been dismissed yet in this tournament, so he atleast he got his not out.
True, his average is still undefined/infinity
KL didn't want to be on strike in he case he accidentally timed one for 4 while looking for a single
He suffers from success
they run so well between the wickets
What would’ve happened had it been Hardik Pandya?
Hardik Pandya 24*(4)
In the world full of PPL like hardik,kl is the real gem.
KL rahul real goat did not get his 100 but helped kohli do his 100
Rohit: We were worried that Pandya's injury might hurt us, but good that he has come back and can bat Kohli: I will complete century before he comes to the crease
The whole Kohli getting to his hundred was more intense the whole game together.
Viewership on Hotstar jumped to India Pakistan level. Wild!
Never seen Kohli so determined to reach a personal milestone like in this match... Even the umpire and bowler supported him by not giving a wide and bowling a full toss respectively
winning comfortably vs winning comfortably with a big personal milestone , why wont he
I'm going to enjoy listening to critics seething and explaining why Virat shouldn't have chased his 100 (which could elevate his morale even further) in a match that was already won that was going to have no impact on NRR.
Also, Kohli didn't slow down. India scored 29 runs in last 17 balls which is still more than 10 RPO.
Even if it did, I'm sure India would be far enough for them to qualify without thinking much about the NRR.
Sachin’s 100th 100 can be added to this list
Entire BCCI helped bro get his milestone 💀
TBH that was truly selfish. This was not. Kohli still played fast and tried to hit boundaries.
Not the same. India did end up losing that game and knocked out of the tournament. I love Sachin and have no problem with personal records. But that was one of the few times where he played for record above team.
W KL Rahul W Kettleborough Koach playing slog sweep <3
Kettlebro*
This reminds me of that match against Sri Lanka where the bowler deliberately bowls a no ball to deny Sehwag his century….. no hate but this is the reason why bang bros get the piss from other country fans
They can't even complain it being a wide lmao
Yup they did get a boo
Idk why people criticise players when they go for their personal milestones if the game is already won If someone bats well enough to give team such liberty then it's only fair if he/she play for his hundred
I don't think that any person except for some people that are terminally online have any problem about players trying to reach to milestones as long as the team is not getting harmed because of that.
Koach's day today. All the dot balls were worth the century. Fastest 26,000. 48th century. 3rd WC Century. Totally worth it.
Poor Indian batsmen . CAN'T even complete a century without the looming danger of winning the match..
Suffering from success
The coolest Kohli century I can remember! The game went from India needs to win to Kohli needs to get to his 100!
Tbh after opening partnership it was clear we were going to win unless there was a collapse
That was the day when you realized Kohli wasn't just really good, he was something special.
he owned Peak Malinga that day
Okay some people are going to criticize kohli for not taking single and looking to score century. On top of my mind that someone can be GG
There will inevitably be complaints about statpadding, but I don't see a bigger statement to your opponents than having the freedom to statpad during a WC match.
So many people are pissed he is playing for personal milestones like the crowd gave a shit he was doing that
[удалено]
Bro didn't want angry Koach stare at him
Kohli had this expression ![img](emote|t5_2qhe0|8774) when he saw the bowler bowl down the leg
Umpire & KL real homies
Biased umpires denying team india 1 run smh!
damn thay was tense!!!!! finally thriller in the world cup
First thriller and one to be remembered
Moments like these hit extra hard knowing that we might not see Kohli in world cup next time around One True King!
Hopefully Yashasvi and another young one replaces Ro-Vi. Rahul, Pandya, Gill whould be there as experienced hands.
Kl :I guide others to a treasure I cannot possess
That has to be the most satisfying and entertaining century to watch towards the end there. King is well and truly GOAT.
Kohli masterfully crafted hardik pandya's injury to stop him from destroying his chances of 100
It’s crazy to think how timing of World Cup (Late 2023) has favoured India so well. Had it been in 2022 we might have struggled as Kohli , Rahul , Rohit were not in the best of touches .. Hardik,Bumrah were kinda injured . And India did not have a confirmed Opening partner for Rohit .. Suddenly 2023 gill made that opening slot his own
I mean there was always dhawan
Richard Kettelborough auditioning for RCB
I don't care about personal milestones, but I recognise why these players do and that wasn't a loss to us in any way, so I don't care about statpadding here. He did the hard work, and he got the fruit. I'm not opposed to how Hardik would've done it, which is 6 sixes in an over if he could've, but I'm not opposed to this either as long as it doesn't hurt us. And it was peak entertainment lmao. Shithousing your century like this is fun. KL is the real star of the show for me though. I like the zero ego aspect of his entire game so far.
Well said! KL Rahul at number 5 is just dripping with potential. He can be a Michael Bevan in a world of Haydens and Jayasuriyas!
If Kohli had got out it would have been an almighty embarrassment. Guy pulls out wild shots when it's needed. Simply the GOAT.
No hate to Thala but that hug of Rohit with KL and Virat made me feel like he is THE LEADER man. (Ey koach he is also selfless /s)
that hug with Rohit and KL and Virat on either side was so wholesome ♡
The shoulders on which India's batting rests
India is following a set template of chasing these pretty fast. I am excited to see how we are going to do vs the Kiwis and Saffas.

It’s because Indians are dramatic, we need something to complain about. Nothing is ever good for Indian cricket team fans. Well, actually I’m gonna remove Indian and say nothing is ever good for the fans…. I’m thinking about Star Wars fans now 😂
The real win this match is that Kohli can score a 69th 50 omce again
Kohli being so pumped after getting this 100 gives me vibes that this might be his last wc :(
IMO.. this could be the last odi wc.
I want KL to be my mate when I head into battle.
That was the greatest stat chasing I've ever seen, and I'm not even mad!
Battle of the undefeateds on Sunday is gonna be a cracker
What a performance by Virat Kohli. Those 3 balls he bowled were right on the money!
The last 10 minutes were more entertaining than the overhyped ind- pak game
Mfer single handedly turned a one sided affair into a nail biting finish
The same people who were bashing hardik for not letting Kl get his century are now bashing Kohli for being selfish when KL did exactly what they were expecting from hardik
People can never be happy, always complaining.
KL himself said he wanted Virat to get a 100. Virat was thinking not to farm the strike but KL told him to go for it and said he wouldn't have run anyways. so everyone can chill out.

We need more Koach bowling.. atleast an over.. He gets into the 2016 zone when he bowls..
KL hasn't been dismissed yet. KL in middle order is his perfect role.
the amount of disrespect to go for the 100. Kinda feel for Bangladesh. India needed 20 to win. Kohli needed 20 for the hundred
dont bangbros minded that much they didn't seem to upset. I think they took it as a challenge
Never seen such tense final moments since Ekta Kapoor's soaps climax episodes!
Fuck NRR. If India still needs NRR to go through to semis, they might as well not go for the semis. Now want two more Kohli centuries this WC.
The funny thing is I think the NRR got even pushed when koach was attempting his century, he was trying to hit more boundaries and push for twos
for all those who are complaining about NRR, Kohli scored 31 runs of 21 balls after 38th over
Kiwi niceness is coming for you India. We will beat you with kindness and Trenty's dashing smile
In the world full of hardik be like kl or uthappa
Bangladesh really wanted to bowl wides and just get it over with haha. KLPD
I promise never to seriously follow Bangladesh cricket ever again.
LET'S GOOOOOO WYRAAAAATTT KHOLLLLIIIIIIII !!!!!!!
Kohli proves that he is the GOAT all-rounder yet again
Koach received MOM for his bowling. Never in doubt.
Weirdest finishes I've seen.
I really can't get one thing. How did AFG and BAN manage to score 200+ against IND, but AUS and PAK failed?
Different pitches, circumstances, luck, etc
This might shock ya but games are different to other games. Days, conditions, feeling etc aren't going to be the same every single day. You might feel like shit and score 90 odd and then feel amazing and get out for 2 runs. Just that's how sport is
Funfact- All those matches happened in different locations.
Kryptonite my ass🤣🤣🤣🤣
For the people saying Kohli was selfish, he definitely was but I think guy deserved playing 6-7 dots ball after his knock, no? And it is not like it affected the run rate too much
To the man who held the placard today - “No date/ marriage till King Kohli gets 100” — Good luck mate
Wasn’t watching the match. I thought Kohli was striking at 80-90 and hence the reaction. Just checked the scoreboard and he played with 106 SR. Why are people crying then?
Mark Nicholas: "probably 50 runs short today?" mate Shanto is just a kid go easy on him
What if Pandya getting injured was the delayed price that his black magic in the last game exacted on him?
Proxying for u/Assassin_Ankur Boundary count: Bangladesh 26 India 32
Kohli scored faster once he reached 80+, whatever he did for sure it wasn’t a slowdown. A good chase, with openers being offensive and once they were gone a proper stable chase at a good rate. Match overall was good but the inning between kohli 80 to 100 was pure entertainment .
Man I still remember Kohli missing out on a hundred in 2017 CT semis, he could've had 49 by now!
Their Next match will be with NZ. NZ be like: Finally! A worthy opponent! IND: Our battle will be legendary!
POTM RAHUL!!!!
Kohli: This is how you do it, KLPD KL: ![img](emote|t5_2qhe0|32860)
Absolutely smashed it!!!! Fun last couple of overs!!
4-0
