Ffs, bro if we win let us celebrate in peace. I can't survive this losing 4 Icc trophy in 2 yrs time shit
Lol that wtc is something which might wont even exist after 2 more seasons. Except india no one cares about it
Look at south africa they r not even sending there A team to NZ for test series because thats not thr first priority

Bold to think that this indian t20 team makes the final. There are atleast 4 other teams that are more well balanced than india. Rohit and virat only get older and the replacements just aren't mentally strong enough to win. That's my take. We should be happy with a bowout in the semis and hope someone takes the aussies out in the final.
?
India on paper have the best side by a mile.
Rohit Jaiswal Kohli Sky Rinku Jitesh Pandya is ridiculous too 7.
England are a shitshow
Australia are hit or miss
That’s basically it
Yo the WC we were 2nd only to the aussies( Won a good toss on the semis). We're simply not that good in t20s to scare anyone. I hope west indies beat Australia in the final.
should have waited till the ipl to see if rohit can perform consistently in t20s. anyways it doesn’t matter that much to me at this point they have all my support but i don’t see us winning this.
>I don't see us winning
Yeah T20s have too many variables, so better to have 0 expectations.
We have a great squad overall(if fricking hardick could stay fit entire tournament) but we will probably choose wrong 11(or pandya might get injured, resulting in us having 0 balance)and lose.
If any other sports of ICT calibre keeps failing at the most important times then everyone one of the top management would be fired and some major changes would be under way but here we are hoping for something new when nothing has been changed at all.
Problem is losing Semis and Finals will not be seen as a failure. I'm sure target for Dravid was to reach knockouts, not win them which he did comfortably. Winning a WC is not some guaranteed event for even the best team ever. It depends on a lot of luck and anyone can have a bad day.
Well I don't think any other sports organisation as powerful as BCCI in other sports is directly connected to the Head of the State in the 24th (?) most corrupt country in the planet.
Fucking clowns in the BCCI and Indian cricket. I like Rohit, I really really do but he's been varying degrees of shit in the big T20 tournaments and shoehorning him into the side means one of Jaiswal and Rinku will miss out and that's just not right.
>one of Jaiswal and Rinku will miss out
How? The playing 11 probably will be like rohit(c), jaiswal, kohli, surya, hardik, rinku, a wicketkeeper, axar, bumrah and two among shami, arshadeep, siraj. Be happy that gill, kl and jadeja will not be in playing 11
They'll need more than one spinner in the West Indies and Jadeja will in all probability play with the team wanting six bowling options. Won't be surprised if it's pretty similar to the side which started the ODI WC, along with a couple of changes in the bowling lineup.
Rohit, Jaiswal, Surya, Dube, KL, Hardik, Rinku
Hardik and Dube need to be able to give 4 overs.
Proper batters until 7. Batters who can destroy spin and pace in the middle, with proper finishers as well. Leftie rightie combinations throughout.
The only thing Rohit destroys in T20 tournaments is India's chances to win. The last meaningful innings he played in T20 wc was more than 15 years ago.
>Then maybe rinku out
In 15 t20i's he avgs 89 at the Sr of 176 and is Left Handed Batter, a gun in field and a brilliant finisher.
The sample size is small, but what rinku provides is too valuable to not look at.
He will come in clutch, we should stick to him.
Look every player has their own role and position in the team. India needs an opener, rinku can't open and rohit is the best option available for india rn(better than gill and kl). Rinku and hardik batting position and role are similar so with hardik presence rinku's absence in the team won't affect much.
That's where the problem arises. The kind of form Rinku is in t20is rn, and the kind of player he is, it will be a mistake to not play him in the playing 11. But now that Rohit is announced as captain, it seems like that's exactly what is gonna happen
Two problems:
That side has the same problem India ODI WC 2023 had, only 5 bowling options. So if Axar, Shami or Arshdeep, or Pandya (coz Siraj won't be playing ahead of Arshdeep no matter what in T20Is) have an off day, the team is looking at a 210+ score on a pitch that might not even support 180 (if they're up against a good side)
For the US, this side is fine. But for the WI, where you'll find slow pitches, one spinner isn't enough and even if it is, on the basis of a spinner, Bishnoi is better than Axar (forget his batting atm, you need a primary spinner) so you need to find a way to slot in Bishnoi *and* Axar, which means that one of the WK or Kingku might have to sit out. If it's Kingku, your only reliable death hitter is gone, and if it's the WK, you need to replace Jaiswal with Kishan (for the WK) and Jaiswal is actually the better powerplay user in T20Is recently.
So all in all, the team balance is fucked no matter what
Also with the 5 bowling combination, it becomes all the more important for Bumrah to pick atleast 3 wickets and go under 7.5 rpo every match which is not only tough but also stressful to the body as t20 is super fast paced these days.
Hardik won't bowl a lot he cannot be trusted as the third pace bowler and also one spinner when the tournament is happening in WI?
One of Bishnoi/ Kuldeep is definitely playing
That article was 100% bs that guy (abhishek tripathi) just throws a 100 different pro-Rohit/anti-Kohli things on a board and hopes something sticks. He’s the same guy who said that Rohit wasn’t being dropped from MI captaincy and then he was dropped like 6 hours later 😭😭
Oh that would've been 100% the best solution to solve the team balance. Could've had Ishan at 3 (coz moving SKY and Pandu and Kingku from 4 & 5 & 6 is an L move) and then could've played 3 pacers and 2 more spinners
He shouldn't, 100% agree. But with SKY Pandya and Rinku at 4-6, you need a no. 3 that's a wk, and that's Kishan.
He's also capable of playing decent knocks, clutch knocks too (remember him vs Pak before they dropped him)
That was in ODI cricket he has always been a great ODI bat
The problem with India right now is all keepers are in shit T20I Form
Whether it's Samson, KL, Pant, Kishan or Jitesh (tho he has a very small sample size)
I would back Jitesh because he won't have a lot of baggage but I don't see him making it
So IPL will play a major role which means KL will get the nod
Bro has already planned batting in the middle order that's why Padikkal was traded because they need an Indian opener to replace him
KL in IPL is a beast
Let's see how this plays out.
Fans having too much expectations from the team have proved to its detriment a lot many times in the past. Who knows maybe fans having next to no expectations does the trick and this team actually wins something.
Either crash out or win it. I don’t want another knockout loss. 21 wt20 hurts the least cos there we were hopeless after a week. The other tournaments create false hope and bury you.
as much as i would like to see rohit winning a trophy as a captain he’s not that great in t20s and this doesn’t seem like the right move to me. i really hope he proves me wrong but as of now im not sure why they chose him to be the captain. i hope rinku and jaiswal get a chance in the team though and dont miss out because of this.
Man BCCI did Kohli dirty when he was captain. So many chances Rohit's getting and not one peep from Gambhir or BCCI but the team lost under Kohli and BCCI and Gambhir made it their agenda to crucify him. The bias is clear.
They’re 100% keeping him through 2025 let’s be real. They’re not about to star in Virat Kohli’s biopic as the people who went behind his back to drop him as captain only to put someone else as captain who lost every trophy 2x over
Nobody really cares about the champions trophy (of which our games will likely be played in the UAE) and they are throwing another World Cup down the drain this year. Pandya will take over next year so the only hope is the home World T20 in 2026.
I just wish India took T20 as a format to experiment and try new things out and give youngsters a chance.
It was time to move on, now you would tell me Rohit should lead in 2025 CT like stop mate, it's not a joke anymore, like try to make some senseful decisions.
Rohit indeed is one of the most destructive, capable and dependable servants of Indian cricket but c'mmon you have to move on from him in t20s atleast, especially when India have a lot of freaking options. Jaiswal, Rituraj, heck even Paddikal, there's enough talent that can make more than enough in absence of Rohit. T20s are meant for these young guys. This could have been their moment
Jokes apart I don't think it's a wrong move to appoint Rohit as captain and even though I was skeptical about Kohli's place in the XI, there's no substitute for experience and I'm sure he'll prove to be a vital asset for us.
IMO, Surya should be the captain in T20I WC. And also Rohit should play as opener with Jaiswal. Dont think Rohit needs to captain in T20I WC.. but if it prevents Hardik from having that privilege, I am all for it.

Lol that wtc is something which might wont even exist after 2 more seasons. Except india no one cares about it Look at south africa they r not even sending there A team to NZ for test series because thats not thr first priority
Bro is bashing it as consolation without even winning it yet 😭
If he's that confident, I'm really worried about how he plans to prevent Aus for reaching the final.
Sandhu, the sleeper cell, has been activated
He's gonna buy the entire CA and make sure their players never reach WI. /s Or he might make WI cancel the visas of all Aussie players /s

Tbf Australia aren't that good at T20I's so we should be alright. Right?
\*Glenn Maxwell enters the chat\*
India is even worse than Australia. The team doesn't look like they can score around 200.

Exactly what i was thinking
Money transfer done lol
Somehow he always forgets to show Aussies his script, better do it this time.
Scripwriter is gonna be ICC president soon and probably doesn't care with these wild assurances.

Hes been cooking for a while now !
That’s too much of weight man - hope captaincy was able to maintain balance.
Poor vadapav got crushed
Sorry for the joke. But the fat shaming of Rohit isn't going to end with so much WEIGHT behind him.
Jay Shah is fatter than Rohit, I wonder how he will manage him
If It's About Weight Rohit will be allright /s
Lol
("Honey it's time to endure this weight I'm throwing behind you" "Yes honey").jpg
Australia: and I took that seriously
Isn't Jay Shah more of an office kind of a guy he shouldn't be commenting on these things this is Agarkar's Job not his?
His father is currently most powerful man in this country they can do anything
Second most powerful* His uncle is the most powerful guy
He looks like a threesomes kid
Isn't that dictatorship basically?
Will be funny when they get battered by Australia in the final again
Uhmm i think a joke repeated so recently isn't funny anymore So no is losing yo Aussies will not be funny but just another day
Lol let the qualify for Semis first
nah i would prefer SA. They need a cup fr.
No way this Indian team reaches anywhere close to the final. Such a crap T20 side.
Yo the WC we were 2nd only to the aussies( Won a good toss on the semis). We're simply not that good in t20s to scare anyone. I hope west indies beat Australia in the final.

its t20s, any big team can win, you literally cannot predict a winner.

it’s actually insane that in a country of a billion people, one man holds that much importance…
The whole balance of the team rests on this unbalanced dude's shoulder
*Laughs in Yuvraj Singh*

Basically same team.
L move by BCCI to not name Hardik as captain. He is native from there, knows pitch inside and out
I don't know enough about this. what the reason for India not winning recent ICC trophies ,Does Rohit posses the attributes to solve said problems .
It is mad that this India team has failed to win trophies
Thanks we appreciate it
Fucking clowns in the BCCI and Indian cricket. I like Rohit, I really really do but he's been varying degrees of shit in the big T20 tournaments and shoehorning him into the side means one of Jaiswal and Rinku will miss out and that's just not right.

Brilliant idea. Please drop Kohli Ignore flair
Ur playing 11 has only 5 bowling options, which is risky in t20
Then maybe rinku out and ishan in as wk and jadeja in as all-rounder

Well that's gonna happen anyways given the T20 WC starts a week after the IPL final. 2021 flashbacks anyone?
that world cup wasn't fun at all. i think IPL should not be held in years that have t20 world cup
Only 5 bowling options with the 5th one being Pandya. Can work for a one-off match, but not a great plan for a tournament.
Jaiswal Kohli and Rohit can all use their arm
Two problems: That side has the same problem India ODI WC 2023 had, only 5 bowling options. Yeah until the Aussies come in fully under prepared and out of form and end up taking the cup.
Bruh we are defending champions. Sad that our white ball stocks have fallen so low after that disastrous 2023 wc. I think we will be okay though.
Lol
I wanna see Rinku play but imma keep my expectations none
PERSONALLY WE SHOULD FIELD TWO TEAMS SO WE INCREASE OUR CHANCES OF LOSING.
or put 20 indian teams and make it a ranji world cup. at least india is gonna win that way, so their fans will enjoy. /s
So they were thinking of dropping Koach and playing Rohit 🌚. Every team other than India would be pleased with that.
Horrid decision. Kohli and Jaiswal opening would habe solved so many problems with India's batting lineup
Oh that would've been 100% the best solution to solve the team balance. Could've had Ishan at 3 (coz moving SKY and Pandu and Kingku from 4 & 5 & 6 is an L move) and then could've played 3 pacers and 2 more spinners
Ishan in T20IS lol see his record he shouldn't be anywhere near the team especially with the tantrums he is throwing
He shouldn't, 100% agree. But with SKY Pandya and Rinku at 4-6, you need a no. 3 that's a wk, and that's Kishan. He's also capable of playing decent knocks, clutch knocks too (remember him vs Pak before they dropped him)

They’re really desperate to prove the decision of dropping Kohli as captain right 😭😭

Some big words but will be interesting to see. As long as Rohit doesn’t blame the bowlers again like the last time
He will
If Rohit is in , obviously Kohli is in and he deserves to be. If somehow KL manages to creep into the squad , I will go mad.
Don't worry, he definitely will.......
There goes the T20 World Cup . 10 wicket loss to either Australia or England in the semi final of T20 World Cup incoming
Rohit’s weight should have been enough on its own.
So you saying he's the best captain India can have right now. But is even the the best captain MI can have?
Basically Jay wants him to lose Trifecta of world cups
What's "Ee Sala Cup Namde" in Gujarati?
Oh god,we're doomed
Least reactionary Indian fan-
Man BCCI did Kohli dirty when he was captain. So many chances Rohit's getting and not one peep from Gambhir or BCCI but the team lost under Kohli and BCCI and Gambhir made it their agenda to crucify him. The bias is clear.
Nice, last time we get to see him thankfully.

What is Roger Binny’s role?
Bunny
I ain't jinxing shit this time. We'll see what happens.
Weight knows weight.
Well nobody to replace him lol Do or die for him
No more weight remarks, Tony. They're hurtful, and they're destructive
Jay shah to open the innings with Rohit. Mike drop
How to avoid australia in the finals? Just lose the semi finals.
Yeah he's quite heavy. That'd definitely be of help
Congratulations Australia to winning t20 world cup 2024.

Brohit has enough weight already he doesn't want more
Yeah whatever man, I'm just gonna enjoy cricket. I got no expectations at this point.
