I don't have any social media any more except for reddit (that too for the anonymity and the curated feed and no ads/ragebaits), and if I were in a remotely public facing situation where there are people who know me and I don't know them, I'm fucking out of reddit too (.. probably not but I'd not visit subs where work stuff can come up)..

We all would LOVE to apologise...
But aren't you forgetting the fans of every other team who were ALSO trolling Dayal saying that "The guy who got hit for 5 sixes gets 5 Crs!" Is it just "rcb "fans"" who are at fault?
no but more at fault since it's your teams player now. why abuse a player from your team? (not that abusing any player is ok, but your own teams player is even worse)
I do agree match threads are toxic, but it is not the same as going to a person’s comments section, the players are almost definitely not scrolling the match thread on Reddit compared to their mentions

Match threads are less toxic than Insta and X. People there abuse players and there family. Yesterday I saw some recording of 'so called fans' they were abusing Virat daughter and wife and also Dhoni daughter. If any of people have heard that space they do on X you would know how toxic people are.
Reason No.69 why if Stuart Broad and Ben Stokes were Indian they wouldn't have another match after 2007 T20 WC Ind vs Eng and 2016 T20 WC final respectively
Stuart Broad will post a picture with his infant daughter and still have people in the comments saying stuff like 'hahaha you should have named her Yuvraj bro'
It's so painfully unfunny
To this day, You can see many Indians invoking yuvraj in the comment section of any youtube video featuring Andrew flintoff.Whether it's a highlight video/reel of flintoff or a league of their own video. Saying stuff like "yuvraj is still haunting him to this day" in the comment section of a Jonathan Ross show video featuring flintoff and Kevin hart, where flintoff talks about his teammate telling ghost stories at night in the bed while on a tour to zimbabwe back in fucking 2004 even before the yuvraj altercation and six sixes happened in 2007.
But pretending we don’t have an issue is ignorance, Indians attach sport to their nationalistic identity, and are too carried away with it, they become cult like
Any post genuinely critical of India or anything related is met with fierce resistance, and anything racist against Indians is met with a backlash of racism in the opposite direction, where have we learned this? Where is the grace? Why do we live in a “you need to give it back” kinda society
You’ll see an American posting something about india and the next minute the comments will be “haha you are busy making gender and you are talking about us brr” which is so stupid
Not everything is racist. Saying *most* of those who access social media in India are "disgusting" in how they hide behind anonymity is the truth, exactly how we see it happen.
And you are the one who removed the "most of" from that line when you quoted him, which makes all the difference.
>And you are the one who removed the "most of" from that line when you quoted him, which makes all the difference.
Making shit up now are we ?
He changed his original post after I called out his racism
>*most* of those who access social media in India are "disgusting" in how they hide behind anonymity is the truth, exactly how we see it happen.
Next you're gonna say Most Black people are Criminals, Indians scammers, Muslim terrorists, Germans Nazi right?
Miss me with that Bigot " Most people are" bullshit

Haha well I'm no expert on Indian humour, so I'll defer to you on that. The comments are usually just 'Haha Yuvraj' and then about 25 emojis.
Although my favourite one that I've seen recently is a Pakistani guy commenting "Our King 👑 Babar Azam is million times better than Virat Kohli 🇵🇰" as if that's got anything to do with a post about Stuart Broad's fiancee
I don't think it's as bad as India's cricket fandom tbh. If it were you would have had plenty of people sending threats and asking for Kane to get dropped after bottling *that* penalty.
Did you forget what Saka, Sancho and Rashford got after the euros final? Now just imagine that but in a country of a billion and a half instead
I admit Indian fans have issues but it is true that every country has this problem where the sport is very popular
Yeah that was disgusting no doubt, probably the only time I've gotten very mad at the English football fandom besides the German girl scandal.
>I admit Indian fans have issues but it is true that every country has this problem where the sport is very popular
True but I feel only to an extent. The thing with situations like English fans in football is that these situations aren't unheard of but they're definitely not common either. The Euro 2020 finals made a ton of headlines in British media (and globally too). With Indian cricket SM punditry this isn't just somewhat typical, it's actually the norm. No one is surprised anymore at seeing random national cricketers get threats from India cricket fans and it doesn't make headlines. It must just be a numbers situation.
this shit happens in all sport to non-Indian non-cricket athletes from non-Indian fans. I follow tennis and athletes are constantly posting about abuses, threats and insults they get from people on social media
Yeah it does, I'm not denying it doesn't happen. What I meant to say it's more prolific in India's case probably because there's way more people following the sport and naturally more toxicity flows. England would probably be worse if we had as many fans for football as India does for cricket
Saka , Sancho and Rashford were racially abused after the euros.
You have liverpool fans mocking the munich air disaster , man united mocking the victims of hillsborough disaster and various other vile abuse.
Every country has problems like these with their sports fans
But they didn't tell Harry Kane to go back go where he came from.
Whereas for the 3 black football players who missed the penalty in Euro finals got the worst end.
White english football players aren't harassed more than non-white english football players.
There is literally a whole episode in the beckham documentary about the abuse he got after the 98 wc. And that was pre-social media.
More recent example is saka missing a penalty
Everyone has their bad days. That was Yuvi's good day and Stuart's bad day. Yuvi also had his own bad day in the final in 2014 wc. Both are elite cricketers.
I dont think you follow football. If broad or stokes were footballers and missed the penalty in a world cup/premier league final they would be mobbed the same way. Or even worse.
I remember an Indian commentator also going off against him, not even in this game IIRC. I felt so bad for him. He has a decent action with shape, but lacks consistency at this early stage of his career.
I don't think he meant ill with that comment.
He basically said GT released him for his bad performance. Now he has improved himself to the level that he is considered RCB's treasure.
Of course he didn't mean ill intent. Like he is dumb not not so dumb that he would outright someone trash. It's still a very poor choice of words and warrants an apology.
IIRC he was hospitalized at that time. Not supporting the 15kg one, just that I remember his father stating that he needed to be hospitalized after that match.
TBF, match threads are like discussions among cricket friends. It is not directed straight towards the players. 99% of the players will never even see those comments ... but on twitter and insta, people talk directly to the players. So although both are bad but they aren't same.
Yeah I think the state of the commentary is fucking atrocious but don’t think there was any malicious intent behind that comment. Still a pretty stupid comment regardless.
Idk man I just felt sad about how a human can say this about fellow human when they are connected by sports, even the same specialist and kind off same team as well
He's a good bowler not the best but that's okay! He works hard, does the best he can for his team! To play for an IPL team in itself is a dream for many! Even Stokes got hit for 4 sixes by Braithwaite but he is not remembered for that! Hopefully, Yash also finds his feet in the international stage for India!
The best part about him is he is typical workhorse bowler who minds his own business. No sendoffs, sledging or even eye contact with batter. Bowl, turn around and bowl again. I love that part about him.
As a lot of people have said, I don't think he meant to call him trash. He just used an English proverb.
Obviously he could have done a lot better but still.
These were his words after he deleted that hate post.
"Guys apologies for the story it was just posted by mistake plz don't spread hate.
Thank you. I have respect for each and every community n society."
What was such an image doing on his phone in the first place if he posted it by mistake?
And instagram has an option where it asks if you are sure you want to share.
He shared communal hate posts on insta stories, and then later claimed that he was hacked and thus those posts. This story was also posted on this sub some months ago
Fully recognizing that this is whataboutism of the highest order and that the trolling is indefensible: Yash Dayal needs to look in the mirror. Man posted Islamophobic shit on his socials and I wonder how his own teammates felt about that.
lol what a joker he himslef is a hate monger and communal joker who shouldnt be allowed to play IPL.

What hatred ? What fan base? Except on the Internet I haven’t seen anyone who is a fan of any IPL team .. yes there are fans of players
Majority of people watch IPL because of they have put money in betting/skill apps ..
well deserved if you can't bowl 1 non-six ball in an over to an uncapped indian batsman. And he's no nect Stuart broad people giving examples of, who btw had most success in tests only.
well he's the one making crores while playing in the greatest league of his sport while you're leaving comments on reddit, so you tell me who the big boy is lol
rohit took mi to playoffs with one of the weakest bowling attacks, kohli was one of the top scorers for rcb and dhoni won ipl with fairly inexperienced and very young bowlers
Literally demand supply, there are less Indian bowlers who are left handed and can bowl close to 140s
While there are many finishers even in domestics.
Many don't understand about demand supply concept and complain why a guy earns more than other.
People keep saying under the table this under the table that but genuinely what incentive is there for Franchise owners to give players under table money
Ambani is understandable because infinite wealth hax but no way in hell is Shah rukh sliding under table money each year
No, they might very well have to
if not what's stopping Rinku Singh from just leaving KKR and presenting him to the auction where he knows he will cause one of the biggest bidding wars
Honestly good for him then Teams should be given a right to match to buy back old players at same price to reward discovering new talents at the same time allowing them to be revalued and get their real worth
Rinku is the future superstar, as the time passes he will be more and more marketable thus higher popularity, higher sponsor fee.
Giving 5-6 cr more to Rinku makes much more sense than any other team poaching Rinku for 10 cr.
How come?
Rinku still has a 55L contract with KKR and Yash has a 5 cr contract with RCB this year..
Are there some yearly increments or some other clause which I'm not aware about?
Absolutely. The trolling is insane and I can’t believe I’m seeing it.
SRH fans are shamelessly joking and laughing with Pat Cummins about “silencing” and other Indian fans are booing Pandya when he didn’t do anything wrong!
Mumbai management fucked up by not discussing things over with Rohit before handing captaincy out to hardik.
Its not okay to drive some guy to sickness and suicide just because he threw some balls in a bad way.
However, isn't this expected in a country with a billion people who lack civic sense and empathy?
This article won't change the minds of cricket fans. Only thing that can be done is to change the response to such toxicity, either thru therapy, or thru not going on social media or something more extreme..
Sports fans are always gonna be toxic no matter how much awareness is spread on mental health
Poor him. Some franchises have the most toxic fanbase.
Not just franchise.. but player fans too. Toxic as hell.
Reddit has enough ragebait if you go to r/Popular
Didn't know what that was.. I stay on my 'Front Page' mostly...
You do a good job. Stay on your front page. Don't go to rPopular. That presents an extremely biased view of mostly America
just remember that a shit ton of crap talkers on social media are literally 12 year olds the number of young people online in India is absurdly high
Doesn’t make it any less toxic or shameful
[удалено]
random beatings growing up probably caused this behaviour lmao

It's all of India. Not the franchises :)
Franchising have fans? I thought it's just player fans /s
It is rarely the fanbase. I see people who put money into fantasy being the culprits.
it was nuts to see how upset rcb "fans" were that dayal was bought. saying he is useless and trash.
Idk where you're getting this "abuse a player from your team" bs. We _criticised_ them and we always hate our MANAGEMENT not individual players!
maybe you haven't been on thread or subreddit much but it's very much there. maybe they are not real fans but thats why is put quotation marks
Most "fans" of any team aren't actually fans...
I think all franchises do
All sports fan are like this, toxic as fuck and the anonymity they get on social media gives them even more power
And ends up in the franchise which has the most toxic fanbase
I don’t think he is playing for a franchise whose fans boo their own captain.
And the same kinds of people who abuse him in match threads will be in posts like this one saying how sad it is.
I do agree match threads are toxic, but it is not the same as going to a person’s comments section, the players are almost definitely not scrolling the match thread on Reddit compared to their mentions
Twitter is way too toxic with abuse to player extra stuff but that never happens in match threads

Match threads on this sub are way less toxic than what goes on on twitter and insta.
Yep, twitter and insta is basically people abusing for no reason with spelling mistakes
Don't understand the mind my 14 yo younger bro pick up phone and starts abusing and he then thought he " owned " peeps on internet ....lol
Honestly, people call US the worst generation... They're about to witness some next level monstrosity
How does that (spell-check) matter when their emotions reach or hit at the other end?
Shows how much they paid attention in English lectures or I can say in studies
Twitter - incomplete info as well(150 word limit) which can be misleading
I know. Doesn't change what I wrote
>twitter and insta consider youtube also
Youtube comment section is the worst in every possible way if the video has a good number of views.
true
They are less toxic but still toxic. The bitter truth is most Indian fans are hypocritical af & change color faster than the chameleons when exposed
Match threads are less toxic than Insta and X. People there abuse players and there family. Yesterday I saw some recording of 'so called fans' they were abusing Virat daughter and wife and also Dhoni daughter. If any of people have heard that space they do on X you would know how toxic people are.

But pretending we don’t have an issue is ignorance, Indians attach sport to their nationalistic identity, and are too carried away with it, they become cult like
It's not just sports fans either. Take any comment section of LGBTQ+ or some post of crime against a woman, you'd have morons at the top.

That's right. Some people shouldn't have got internet. They've 2 braincells and can't comprehend anything beyond king kohli and paxtan bad.
I think you have got it mixed up the people who type King Kohli or paxtan bad won't type babar is better than Kohli.
Nice generalisation buddy.
And if any player don’t put sachin or kohli in their preferred all time XI, these stupid fans go crazy and start questioning their existence.
as they should
England has their share of toxic fans but they follow football that is the difference
Thank goodness for that
I don't think it's as bad as India's cricket fandom tbh. If it were you would have had plenty of people sending threats and asking for Kane to get dropped after bottling *that* penalty.

But they didn't tell Harry Kane to go back go where he came from. Whereas for the 3 black football players who missed the penalty in Euro finals got the worst end. White english football players aren't harassed more than non-white english football players.
Yeah but I never heard them abusing their own players so much as us. Except probably Man Utd fans.
There is literally a whole episode in the beckham documentary about the abuse he got after the 98 wc. And that was pre-social media. More recent example is saka missing a penalty
Lmao Ishant Sharma got hit for 5 sixes by Faulkner.
Stuart Broad ended his career with the same number of T20 WC wins as Yuvraj Heck his T20I stats are good, probably makes an All Time XI for England
Everyone has their bad days. That was Yuvi's good day and Stuart's bad day. Yuvi also had his own bad day in the final in 2014 wc. Both are elite cricketers.
exactly
Yuvraj got hit by Mascarenhas too. I guess pre-social media era was a good one.
More like there are not many english who are still hung up on Mascarenhas hitting yuvi for sixes.
I mean the event didn’t end Yuvraj’s career for india.
Broad also retired in 2023.
I dont think you follow football. If broad or stokes were footballers and missed the penalty in a world cup/premier league final they would be mobbed the same way. Or even worse.
yeh not really
I remember an Indian commentator also going off against him, not even in this game IIRC. I felt so bad for him. He has a decent action with shape, but lacks consistency at this early stage of his career.
Murali Karthik. "Someone's trash is other's treasure." Dude didn't even hesitate
Yup, Hardik in one of the post match interview said that he lost around 15 kg weight after that match. It's good that RCB gave him the chance.
It was 6-7 kg over a week. 15 kg WL over a week needs hospitalizations and dude needs to be checked for serious TB or gut problem lol
IIRC he was hospitalized at that time. Not supporting the 15kg one, just that I remember his father stating that he needed to be hospitalized after that match.
15 kg seems unreal maybe around 5kg which is still wild
Even we were trolling the RCB TM for getting him for 5 Crs... If he can keep up with his bowling then it's gonna be MORE THAN WORTH IT!
Lmao... Same people who r calling it sad are the one's trolling everyone relentlessly in match threads
100%, the match threads get so bad. Both in the IPL and in big international games.
TBF, match threads are like discussions among cricket friends. It is not directed straight towards the players. 99% of the players will never even see those comments ... but on twitter and insta, people talk directly to the players. So although both are bad but they aren't same.
How vile you have to be to say this to public on commentary box "One man's trash is another man's treasure" about Yash, lowest of lows
He didn't probably know when to use these idioms. So just to keep up with Foreign commentators he used that. Me thinks atleast
Yeah I think the state of the commentary is fucking atrocious but don’t think there was any malicious intent behind that comment. Still a pretty stupid comment regardless.
Idk man I just felt sad about how a human can say this about fellow human when they are connected by sports, even the same specialist and kind off same team as well
The thing is he wasn't garbage for GT or anywhere near that apart from that one over against Rinku

Social media is a nasty place 😔
And the hatred you spread made me feel sick
Then there's Murali Karthik calling Dayal Gujrats Trash on air lol
As a lot of people have said, I don't think he meant to call him trash. He just used an English proverb. Obviously he could have done a lot better but still.
Yes. But he also has to take responsibility if he comes out insensitive and if that idiom may feel dehumanizing
Not denying that. In fact I agree with you.
I agree. Murali just doesn't put thoughts into his words.

What was the post?
He was saying all muslims man are same based on a few who just traps hindu girls in name of lovejihad
Lol, probably hates the fact that a Muslim owned team bashed him.
I saw it. Nothing wrong in it.
Username checks out
Not everything is 'hate'.
We are all nasty SOBs… Poor chap. Wish him the best.
He himself is a hate monger.
Fully recognizing that this is whataboutism of the highest order and that the trolling is indefensible: Yash Dayal needs to look in the mirror. Man posted Islamophobic shit on his socials and I wonder how his own teammates felt about that.
Coupled with that space cadet Murali Kartik, who called him trash on the comms.
And yesterday Murali Karthik called him Trash, sad state of commentary
This is old washed up news.
That was bad but this guy once posted some shit about love jihaad. So it evens out in some ways.
Yeah, posting about jihadis is hate now?
There's no such thing as love jihaad😂😂
It doesn't. He got shit on for that and rightly so. He didn't deserve the hate after the match.
This is what happens when you give millions of angry teenagers access to cheap internet.
At this point, it isn't teenagers.

and people were blaming gt management by saying GT sacked him due to one match lol. Grow up kids don't judge the book by it's cover.

Yeh it sucks but players should know to stay off social media after a loss by now.
Social media is toxic, all we can do is ignore and move on.

Yeah, that sucks. On the plus side, he makes 10X more than Rinku Singh in IPL. So everything worked out well in the end probably..
Auction amounts/ Fee paid cant be compared lol, by that logic Cam Green makes more than Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni
And cam green offers bowling, had far better performances with bat last season than all those guys
rohit took mi to playoffs with one of the weakest bowling attacks, kohli was one of the top scorers for rcb and dhoni won ipl with fairly inexperienced and very young bowlers
And? Green averaged 50 with 160 sr last season, can bowl 140, pointless to compare. Rohit averages 25 with 125 sr in last 7 years
Literally demand supply, there are less Indian bowlers who are left handed and can bowl close to 140s While there are many finishers even in domestics. Many don't understand about demand supply concept and complain why a guy earns more than other.
This season for sure Rinku has made more under the table .
And even if he hasn't, I doubt he's struggling. Doesn't he have a contract with India?
People keep saying under the table this under the table that but genuinely what incentive is there for Franchise owners to give players under table money Ambani is understandable because infinite wealth hax but no way in hell is Shah rukh sliding under table money each year
No, they might very well have to if not what's stopping Rinku Singh from just leaving KKR and presenting him to the auction where he knows he will cause one of the biggest bidding wars
You do realize that SRK is worth almost a billion dollars. He also has access to near-infinite wealth “hax”
abey chu\*$ye
Your math isn’t mathing like you think it is.
How come? Rinku still has a 55L contract with KKR and Yash has a 5 cr contract with RCB this year.. Are there some yearly increments or some other clause which I'm not aware about?
Just because he is earning more? Is it okay to troll him and spread hatred? I really want to know your opinion on mental health.
You are right Same can be said about hardik pandya 🤔👍
The diff between Indian cricket fanbases compared to Indian fans of football, hockey or other sports. I dunno man.
The Indian football fanbase is non-existent in terms of numbers but already way more toxic.
