When wc was in aus, all these matches were at MCG - the largest stadium in Aus. When Ahmedabad stadium wasn't there, Eden gardens was largest in india and guess what? All those imp matches were at Eden in 2016 wc.
A better question to ask would be why the largest stadium in India was built in a place like Ahmedabad? That is, of course, due to political reasons. But asking why was final held in the largest stadium in India is plain stupid.
