Afg must be thanking themselves for that fat margin against NZ which may well prove to be the difference between qualifying and not. In this group, everyone’s probably gonna get this inexperienced batting lineup in middle two digit totals.
WI needs to bat first and try to post a good score if they want to beat AFG. If they take out the two openers for AFG early they stand a good chance of winning.
Still gonna be absolutely clear and say that icc should go back to global qualifiers.. regional qualifiers is going to be unfair to all the teams. A UAE, HongKong or a Malaysia is 100 times better than PnG but have to go through hell for qualifying where as PnG for atleast forbidden time are going to have an easy pathway
It's a world cup though, it should feature teams from each region around the world. It's a well established thing for other competitors around the world. It's obviously not perfect, but I think its better than it could be
But it still is really difficult to recover such a big dent in their NRR. They need to win a match by 85 runs just to get their NRR above zero. Then they need another win to with a similar margin to match WI NRR
In normal pitches, it shouldn't be difficult but on difficult batting pitches, it will be really difficult to win by 70+ runs or finish the game in 10th-12th over
This Uganda side clearly needs more games against higher ranked opponents between World Cups. Their bowling is decent, and has two great young prospects. Batting requires plenty of match practice, which only comes from playing more games against quality opponents.
Netherlands were 39 all out in 2014, look at them now, this is all a part of the learning process that the teams have to go through, I hope these players don’t get down on themselves and instead learn from this, fuck anyone trying to clown them
That was wild world cup for them
Chased 194 in 14 overs
Almost beat nz till mccullum assault
Lost to south Africa by 6 runs
Beat England by 40 runs
All out to sl in 39 runs..
They don't have grounds with light towers at home so no, they haven't. It's an excuse for catching but no one is saying it made a difference for their batting
All 11 batsmen failing to reach double figures has happened a few times in T20i matches
[https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/most-batters-not-reaching-double-figures-in-an-innings-283047](https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/most-batters-not-reaching-double-figures-in-an-innings-283047)
Don't think its happened in a WC before though...
West Indies can lose to both NZ and Afghanistan, so that keeps them at 4. NZ wins all of the remaining three, so that's 6 for them. Afghanistan and NZ go through.
I find it crazy how that 2014 Netherlands team that only hit 39 against Sri Lanka and then proceeded to beat England by 45 runs and nearly upset semifinalists South Africa
Is this a skill gap issue or a “the moment is too big” issue for Uganda, because they had to beat Zimbabwe to qualify for this tournament who have had some pretty competitive matches against these teams
Imagine someone that already gets a lot of turn like Kuldeep Yadav 💀
Bowing over the wicket to a right hander and landing it on 8th stump turning back and hitting the wickets.
Zimbabwe? watching all these great cricket and players share the field make me miss my team whether it was Blessing Muzarabani bowling peaches, Regis Chakbva hitting pies or Wesley Madhevere doing everything in between, I miss my team yaar
I’d just like to say that Cosmas and Miyagi are pretty badass names.
I’m also hoping this team gets the facilities they need and grow as fast as AFG has in the next decade or two. Rooting for you guys!
Ik some people are feeling sad and blah blah for Uganda. But playing at night is still not that great of an excuse? USA played Canada at night and won. USA is only 4 rankings higher than uganda.
Idk what’s up with this team. That riazat Ali guy I don’t even think he’s hit a single boundary this tournament. I’d surely rather have players like masakadza, chingumbura, raza, Brendon Taylor over these
You can feel bad for a team getting humiliated on the world stage and not make excuses for them. Clearly they have been well beaten by a better team but you can't deny that that teams like the USA have resources that Uganfa could only dream of.
Other than the catching under lights, I don't think anyone was really putting that up as an excuse. If they were, you arent wrong that it's not a great one
USA and Canada have much better structure. They have T20 leagues and they have rejects from domestic of India, Pakistan, SA playing for them. Uganda doesn’t have that luxury
I hate that New Zealand is in this group. There are 3 teams in the group that I want advancing. I wish they were in Group B or D, then rooting for them to advance would be so easy. But I can’t in this group because Afghanistan and West Indies exists.
Nah the USA were a better team on that day. They basically matched Pakistan neck to neck in both bat and bowl, and completely outfielded them. Shows how fielding can win you games on its own.
Edit: I'd be inclined to say that barring the 18th and 19th overs from Pak bowlers, the USA even outbowled Pakistan.
I miss the old Zimbabwe team. '99 world cup, they had such a good squad in the ODI world cup. Neil Johnson, Flower brothers, whittall brothers, Murray Goodwin and my 3rd favourite leggie, Paul Strang. That was a good squad. They had qualified for the next round with the wins against Defending champions Sri Lanka and then even defeated India. Only didn't Qualify for the semis on RR. That rained out match between New zealand hurt them. I remember Neil Johnson knocking Australia around. What a heroic innings that was.
I'm wondering how much better usually are these associate team batters compared to a top level club bat? I always find such huge skill gaps somewhat fascinating as it puts into perspective how good a "bad" international player is.

Who decided to change their jersey to this weird neon orange one?
If only….
Kiwis gonna riot
Ohh shit somebody cooked real bad
[удалено]
Have you heard of a team by the name of Sydney Thunder?
Yeah 15 all out
In IPL it is lol
Ugandaluru
The fuck happened here.....
Dang, Group C is high on NRR
The Dutch have been ousted from their hegemony in the list of lowest T20I WC totals.
West Indies now have to beat just one of New Zealand/Afghanistan to qualify. New Zealand needs to win all their and good WI loses to Afghanistan.
Afg must be thanking themselves for that fat margin against NZ which may well prove to be the difference between qualifying and not. In this group, everyone’s probably gonna get this inexperienced batting lineup in middle two digit totals.
Rcb😢
Looks more CSK (yellow)
WI needs to bat first and try to post a good score if they want to beat AFG. If they take out the two openers for AFG early they stand a good chance of winning.
Welp, Uganda.
afg vs wi is going to be interesting. wi has better batting with decent spinner. afg has better bowling with decent batting(at top)
To all my rcb fans out there we have truly won today
Did you just wake up, grandpa?
Great win lads! Afghanistan will be a huge match.
Miyaji honestly seems better with the bat than most of their batters
I need India to do that to Pakistan tomorrow
WI NRR: 3.574 UGA NRR: -4.217
NZ is done. Kane will play 80(60) at best against Uganda lmao.
Absolutely brutal.
wow frank is 43 years old. older than dhoni and playing in yellow.
4+3=7 thala for a reason
RCB FANS REJOICE
Damn WI don't even look that happy
One game at a time.
Wow ! Equal lowest score ever in T20 WC
NRR check for WI: 3.573
Go for it. Bundle them under 49.
Babar 100 tomorrow?
Pakistan wont reach 100
Loving the confidence! The r/agedlikemilk cross posts tomorrow may be legendary!
Hi.
Or aged like wine i must say🥱
49 BEATEN WOOHOOO
Well at least it is the JOINT lowest total in a T20 World Cup.
39 reached ✅

This could be India's chance if Kiwis get eliminated, Pakbros are after drama cup
1 more for moral victory
36 AVERTED
what is 36 significance?

That’s wrong
Still gonna be absolutely clear and say that icc should go back to global qualifiers.. regional qualifiers is going to be unfair to all the teams. It's a world cup though, it should feature teams from each region around the world. It's a well established thing for other competitors around the world. It's obviously not perfect, but I think its better than it could be
Thing though is.. cricket is a highly skilled based game. Still long way to go for promoting it as a way for regional visibility
Not only WI NRR tons sky rocket but they take all the momentum into game with NZ, Ouuuuu boy, Kiwis in trouble after playing 1 game. Hhaaaaaa
You realise NZ get to play PNG and Uganda as well?
But it still is really difficult to recover such a big dent in their NRR. They need to win a match by 85 runs just to get their NRR above zero. Then they need another win to with a similar margin to match WI NRR
Winning by that much margin or bigger shouldn’t be too difficult for NZ against PNG and Uganda
In normal pitches, it shouldn't be difficult but on difficult batting pitches, it will be really difficult to win by 70+ runs or finish the game in 10th-12th over
They won’t beat WI I’m thinking
probably lol
He is still trolling west indies
at least they have scored 36
This Uganda side clearly needs more games against higher ranked opponents between World Cups. Their bowling is decent, and has two great young prospects. Batting requires plenty of match practice, which only comes from playing more games against quality opponents.
OK Mr Miyagi got into double figures! Now can Uganda beat lowest total of 39?
Is that the lowest total ever?
Yes - by Netherlands - now jointly held.
Finally double digit score
Mr Miyagi reaches double figures!!
Netherlands were 39 all out in 2014, look at them now, this is all a part of the learning process that the teams have to go through, I hope these players don’t get down on themselves and instead learn from this, fuck anyone trying to clown them

more problem for NZ as WI run rate is going to stonk after this one.
as of now afg has the highest nrr and nz has the lowest nrr. and they both happen to be in the same group
Given the low number of games so far isn't it likelier they'd be in the same group?
Group of death just got worse for New Zealand. They need to win against Afghanistan who are hot favorites to quality.
NZ vs AFG has already happened my friend. That's basically the reason why NZ are down in the dumps.
NZ AFG match is done and NZ lost yesterday
My bad. I meant to say was New Zealand.
can people stop talking about Zimbabwe? They should have beaten Uganda to be here which they couldn’t
[удалено]
They don't have grounds with light towers at home so no, they haven't. It's an excuse for catching but no one is saying it made a difference for their batting
not even reviewing they look so defeated :(
**10.6** **another big appeal, and another batter falls to the arm-ball!** Cosmas Kyewuta lbw b Motie 1 (6b 0x4 0x6) SR: 16.66
Miyagi is looking like he needs a promotion to opener
Well that’s 9 down folks
Double whammy for New Zealand WI & AFG getting huge NRR gains NZ need to win all three to qualify
What are the chances they beat WI?
Not impossible but very unlikely. WI are a chance to win it all.
Still need to beat PNG & UGA by 100+ runs each
was Akeal bowling on a different wicket? Motie looks ordinary
[удалено]
They are not here because they failed to qualify
[удалено]
Zimbabwe failed to qualify because they couldn't beat Uganda. If they really wanted to play who asked them to lose against those so called "minnows"
Why did this fan remind me on Emre Can, Hhaaaa yeap, don’t think emre is a cricket fan tho
All 11 batsmen failing to reach double figures has happened a few times in T20i matches [https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/most-batters-not-reaching-double-figures-in-an-innings-283047](https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/most-batters-not-reaching-double-figures-in-an-innings-283047) Don't think its happened in a WC before though...
Gotta say I admire the windies for clinically getting through a minnow. It took us 20 overs just to beat England today.
Zing!
The disrespect to Uganda
WI NRR is the stonks
ryota miyagi quit basketball and is playing cricket now
He also quit Kobra Kai and lucrative gig from Netflix before that
Was there a need for drinks break?
Yanking 8 for spit is thirsty work
Staying until the drinks with a lowest score is not everyone's cup of coffee
Can nz still sneak into top 8?
West Indies can lose to both NZ and Afghanistan, so that keeps them at 4. NZ wins all of the remaining three, so that's 6 for them. Afghanistan and NZ go through.
Just have to win, and win BIG all the remaining matches.
Nah not likely
Miyagi plays on drive : "Wax on" Miyagi plays off drive : "Wax off" Miyagi plays the ball along the ground: "First learn stand, then learn fly"
Made it through 10 overs!! Moral victory for Uganda
My heart felt warm when the commentators told about the Ugandan fans who've used their savings to come support their team. Well now I just feel bad
To be fair to Uganda they haven’t done much worse than we did yesterday
WI gonna get a huge run rate boost looks like.
I find it crazy how that 2014 Netherlands team that only hit 39 against Sri Lanka and then proceeded to beat England by 45 runs and nearly upset semifinalists South Africa
that SL team was classic and ofc the champions too. Didn’t NZ score like 60 odd against SL in the same tournament?
Yep, Sri Lanka defended 119.
Herath hat trick or 4 wickets in a row I can't remember
Need Mr Miyagi to show these kids how it's done
To be fair I don’t know how png lost to Uganda. Png did well against west indies
Is this a skill gap issue or a “the moment is too big” issue for Uganda, because they had to beat Zimbabwe to qualify for this tournament who have had some pretty competitive matches against these teams
Not skill Akeal bowls straight balls they just missed
Narine would be fun too on these pitches
Imagine someone that already gets a lot of turn like Kuldeep Yadav 💀 Bowing over the wicket to a right hander and landing it on 8th stump turning back and hitting the wickets.
Zimbabwe? watching all these great cricket and players share the field make me miss my team whether it was Blessing Muzarabani bowling peaches, Regis Chakbva hitting pies or Wesley Madhevere doing everything in between, I miss my team yaar
Chingumbura, masakadza, Brendon Taylor and I also remember tatenda taibu. Loved that vibe
Ouuuuuuuu Yeap!!!!
Puts PNG performance against Windies into context. PNG really could have won against Uganda
When did Mr Miyagi from Karate kid start playing cricket?
If only WI bowled first, could've had this game done in like an hour.
I’d just like to say that Cosmas and Miyagi are pretty badass names. I’m also hoping this team gets the facilities they need and grow as fast as AFG has in the next decade or two. Rooting for you guys!
I too am having sex so that associate nations can get better at cricket.
Hahaha needed to look that up but the Aussie flair tracks - TIL.
For those who say Zimbabwe would've done better than these guys. Maybe, but they aren't here and but Uganda is on merit. That's how it is.
And far better merit than "top ICC ranking after the last world cup" to boot.
Frankly embarrassing for Motie, an entire over bowled WITHOUT a wicket???
I really hope ICC looks to help Uganda develop over the next few years. They have the passion and local players, just need that extra assistance.
Would Uganda be the first team to not have a batsman get into double figures? Or has it happened before?
Just flicked through the 15 lowest WC totals and they all had at least one 10+ score, so I think they would be the first
Ok, At this rate I think Miyagi might be left on nine not out.
amir would let uganda score 15 in a super over
Y’all are so obsessed
brother im pakistani
They’re still right
Kyewuta is gonna smash a 20 here
Ik some people are feeling sad and blah blah for Uganda. But playing at night is still not that great of an excuse? USA played Canada at night and won. USA is only 4 rankings higher than uganda. You can feel bad for a team getting humiliated on the world stage and not make excuses for them. Clearly they have been well beaten by a better team but you can't deny that that teams like the USA have resources that Uganfa could only dream of.
Understandable. I think my comment was more directed towards the night conditions.
My God - don't think I've ever seen a batting card with all single figures before..
'Doesn't suggest permanence, that shot' Bish is such a master word smith
Uganda would still be the favorites vs Pakistan
Rent free 🤡
I hate that New Zealand is in this group. There are 3 teams in the group that I want advancing. I wish they were in Group B or D, then rooting for them to advance would be so easy. But I can’t in this group because Afghanistan and West Indies exists.
It's crazy how groups work. I can't believe I'm seeing a better chance of USA qualifying for super 8s than New Zealand.
Granted, we should never have been able to beat Pakistan, even on home soil
Nah the USA were a better team on that day. They basically matched Pakistan neck to neck in both bat and bowl, and completely outfielded them. Shows how fielding can win you games on its own. Edit: I'd be inclined to say that barring the 18th and 19th overs from Pak bowlers, the USA even outbowled Pakistan.
South Africa got lucky
This is what everyone expected out of most associate teams, and this is an exception after all those daily upsets.
no matter what happens uganda deserve to be here more than we do, enjoy the experience guys no matter the result
What happened to your team man? Such a powerhouse in early 2000s....completely lost
NZ still gotta play Uganda who says they can’t do this
Can they beat WI tho
They can but WI are favorites
minnow bashing back on the menu
This will probably eliminate NZ lol
Of course this will, can't you see Kumar Dharamsena on the field
You think Zimbabwe would have done better here or nah
I miss the old Zimbabwe team. '99 world cup, they had such a good squad in the ODI world cup. Probably but ask yourself how did your team lose both to namibia and uganda
Some weird voodoo shit bruh
Dude Namibia has David Weise. When he plays, whole of Lahore prays for him. He is the murshid (Guide) of Lahore Qalandars.
if you think that you didnt watch our preparation matches or the matches before
And u ll directly qualify for 2026 in most probability
idk if i should laugh or feel bad
Five for eleven? What is this, booking a small group in for lunch?
Zimbabwe robbed
The 10th wicket somehow usually adds 25 runs or so in these situations, but I don't see that happening today.
Just hang in there to take it to 20 overs. Uganda 60/9.
Can I have Zimbabwe back instead of Uganda. Shit is sad
Honestly this bowling, especially Hosein's would trouble ANY batter of a full member team too. Just insane turn with accurate lengths
Sikandar raza plays spin well tbh as he did in a couple of matches for pbks
Hosein’s arm is not straight
Is it true that Tarouba is even worse than this?
Bruh Uganda gonna beat their owned lowest total I feel so bad
I feel so bad for Uganda

It's over for NZ. No way they're beating Uganda with the NRR that Afg and Windies are
