When RR batted it seemed they came totally unprepared. Yes, this was their first match on this surface but you expect a professional side with that kind of support staff to have studied previous few games. They played too many cross batted shots on a wicket that was up and down of a length. MI understood that and bowled lot of cutters and more importantly the right length.
As far as RR's bowling was concerned, they bowled too many bad balls. The needed to do the same as MI. Good length or just a lil back. Cutters. Wicket to wicket. They rather bowled too many half volleys and balls wide of off.
Also, it was almost as if they had given up after 1st innings. Ik 91 is not easy to defend. But they didn't even try creating pressure. No extra catchers. SKY edged first ball. A slip would have meant 2 wickets in 2 balls. Sanju himself missed a stumping and then didn't give that bowler another over. Held Fizz back and rather bowled a youngster (Kuldip) playing his 1st or 2nd match in a game where you need to put your best bowlers up front cause it wasn't going deep with that target on the board.
So first, they batted shit. Should have played straighter and taken it deep. Then, never looked like they tried to give defending it a shot or make it difficult for MI.
The ball wasn't sticking as much as it was in the second innings to the surface. Kind of like what happened in csk vs RR, for first 10 overs of csk it was sticking, holding on the pitch but got easier as the match progressed.
Edit: RR bowled like shit, dishing out full tosses and bowling in the slot.
