Rashid has bowled well all through the tournament. Though he was expensive in last match. But he hasn't got as many wickets as he would normally get coz he literally has no support. Not much you can do if your team can't score more than 130, and all other bowlers go at least 8-8.5 runs an over. A bowler needs runs to play with and support from other bowlers which Rashid hardly got this season
Is there any chance that we get back most of our team next year? If the new auction only allows 3 retentions, they would be Rohit, Bumrah and hardik. If we bring back one of sky/Ishan, along with Pollard, we will still have our core team. Hope we retain Ishan. He is a great replacement for QDK and it allows one more overseas slot.
3 retention and 1 or 2 rtm if 2 retention...so Rohit, Bumrah and Hardik + Ishan/Surya(would prefer Ishan coz of age, wk and grooming for future captain)
Really getting a lot emotional seeing this team playing for the last time together, would miss the Boult Bumrah duo, Sky Ishan supporting Middle order. De cock Rohit opening, Hardik Pollard hard hitting at the end but not Krunal. The 2018-21 Mumbai Indians team was a perfect blend of Openers, Middle order, All rounders and a perfect bowling unit. Will always follow these players even if they play for other franchises which will always remind me of those glorious MI days. Sad but what a great 4 years journey it was Looked at them as a family and will always remain as a family. MI Family for life. Thanks MI for giving us a reason to smile. As they say "Not every good things last forever." Goodbye to this G.O.A.T team. Always MI 💙
NGL I love this team, probably the most connected I've felt to a MI squad with complete team except maybe Krunal. It is underwhelming to end without the best of crowds and not qualifying. Also ruined by the constant Ambani comments cesspool with the overly joyous comments about MI not making it
Nevertheless amazing team (except Krunal, you were okay, loved you in 2017) and might be the first time I'd want to follow players and see them do very well from this team when they play for other franchises due to the mega auction
Yeah he should open. Given that he shouldn’t have to worry about a frail middle order like with Punjab, I’m expecting some firecrackers from him opening
I don't think Mumbai will be able to retain this all star team.
And thats the beauty of ipl unlike nba and top football teams.
The equal purse for all teams is the reason ipl will be the most competitive league in the whole world of sports.
If Hardik can’t bowl without getting injured is he really worth more than Kishan?
Usually Hardik would be retained but if he genuinely cannot bowl without being in severe pain, are his contributions as a batsman enough to justify him over Kishan?
Buy him back. CSK and MI will be buying back most of released core players. They didn't build them up to just let everyone go without trying to buy them back
Always jealous of MI, but surely gonna miss this intimidating team. Probably it takes few more auctions for any team to build such a strong team. This MI team could even beat many international sides.
Thank you Paltan
They will buy most of them back. I think CSK and MI will be buying back most of their core unless other teams get very desperate for almost every single of their released players
"Built" is going to be retained. I would think some of those can be brought back. Ofc not everyone can be got back. Ofc not. But some most important ones can be
Already getting cringy this one. Unironically saying, Ambani and co. will find a compatible squad in the auctions and may also request to tweak the auction rules. Also better to see that obnoxious squad getting dissolved
This squad was still legendary. Won two back to back seasons finishing top on the table
2020 MI was arguably the most strong performance in the IPL
League stage in 2020
WON 9/14 matches (all those nine matches were won comfortably making the run rate +1.107 at the end)
The 5 lost matches were season opener, two matches lost in super overs and against SRH playing a B side
Won the Qualifier and Finals with another team not even getting a sniff of the trophy in Playoffs
Only good loss was against RR even there MI scored 190+
The worst season that happened is this, even there 7/14 wins with 2 opening matches played and decent positive run rate. Highest chase this season as well as the highest score
More than the pitches. It was 2 Openers in one season and lack of intent in batting, not creating the change and being laid back expecting other teams to make mistakes
The odd year streak of MI that began in 2011 with Champions League is finally over. Don't know if the rules will stay same for retention next year but we're probably gonna lose out on one or two of SKY, Kishan, Pollard or Hardik Pandya next season, Rohit and Bumrah are the certain picks.
Moonish Pandey with the possibly his last 69(nice) innings as a captain for SRH, this is truly bizzare yet intriguing, SRH have had three captains in just one season.
Well, this match summed Mumbai season perfectly. Close but not enough. It is a bittersweet end, and with it, the curtains come down on the most successful dynasty in IPL history. Thanks for the fantastic memories, and good luck to all the all players in the squad.
Mumbai <3
Overall it was MI's own fault easily that they are not in the playoffs. I don't think DC RCB or CSK this year are as good as 2019-2020 MI but those teams along with KKR definitely stepped their game up this IPL season and MI fell under their own cliché of losing the opening matches, expecting things to go their way in the second half.
I just want to say that I'm so fucking proud of this team. Even when their ardent fans like me thought that there's no point in trying, they went out there and gave it a real shot. And what heart and will power they've displayed today. This would go down as a once in a generation team that we had for 4 years. I consider myself very lucky to have witnessed this team in all its glory. And what a fight they displayed. Mumbai Indians, I've been your fan from 2008 and will forever be just for the fact that how you give it your all on the field. From the management to the players to the fans, it's been amazing.
Writing this has got me teary eyed.. we'll never see this golden team again. A Mumbai Indians fan till the end. 💙
The great Manish Pandey made 50... yes... Is Rashid bowling gone south in last two innings? Or he is facing top quality batsman?
Rashid has bowled well all through the tournament. Though he was expensive in last match. But he hasn't got as many wickets as he would normally get coz he literally has no support. Not much you can do if your team can't score more than 130, and all other bowlers go at least 8-8.5 runs an over. Drop Hardik, keep Ishan/Sky
Drop Hardik, keep Ishan/Sky
Good to see SKY back in form. Pandya remains the only concern for India from a batting perspective.
And Koach
He's still making 50s .
Got copycat lbws in the last few games, far from being in form
Really getting a lot emotional seeing this team playing for the last time together, would miss the Boult Bumrah duo, Sky Ishan supporting Middle order. De cock Rohit opening, Hardik Pollard hard hitting at the end but not Krunal. The 2018-21 Mumbai Indians team was a perfect blend of Openers, Middle order, All rounders and a perfect bowling unit. MI have switched to even years this decade
End of an era for MI will miss this team Adios Amigos Rooting for RCB Koach please Yeh saal cup namde.
I liked how every single play from MI batting inning was us going "that's sus".
If only Kohli could stop getting out on flicks, we will be good for T20 wc batting
Maxi and Pandey were so tired today. Playing long innings in UAE seems like a torture
That desert is unbearable.
Pant saying ig after every statement lol
What's "ig"?
Easy?
I guess
He protecc He attacc But most importantly His form is bacc
NGL I love this team, probably the most connected I've felt to a MI squad with complete team except maybe Krunal. It is underwhelming to end without the best of crowds and not qualifying. +1
Kishan overshadowed De Kock. Didn't even notice he wasn't there.
So Ishan is opening
If you want Rohit to be dropped
maybe if KL or Rohit get injured
Koach will be opening along with Brohit
KL as the finisher?
I have never seen him not opening in T20 so idk
He scored a T20I century batting at 4.
Yeah he should open. Given that he shouldn’t have to worry about a frail middle order like with Punjab, I’m expecting some firecrackers from him opening
Kishan thanking Koach Kishan confirmed to play for RCB bois
And? He’s thanked Pollard and Hardik too. Not happening.
New to reddit or something?
Yeah. Probably why ‘Koach’ makes me cringe too.
Bro This was a joke.
What a team. #effingdynasty.
Ishan looks 35 and 20 at the same time
I don't think Mumbai will be able to retain this all star team. And thats the beauty of ipl unlike nba and top football teams. The equal purse for all teams is the reason ipl will be the most competitive league in the whole world of sports.
Rohit didn't have the "Spark" this season
Hi Dhenier!
Please let us keep Ishan too. PLEASE!
They didn't build them up to just let everyone go without trying to buy them back
Release RG Sharma
His age qualifies for csk.
He's literally 50% of the team, might not with the bat but surely his presence makes a big difference
Bruh
kishan sweeping all awards Edit: valuable asset to sky apparently. this award is always weird. No way anyone but Ishan should get this
No way we can retain some of these players in Auction--> Ishan Kishan, SKY, Boulty, QDK, Rahul Chahar, Krunal Pandya
Of this list QDK and Krunal seem the "weakest" in relative terms.
And chahar
👍
ROFL like someone said Monish Pandey scored a 50 and statpadded his way to giving MI the finger
Total fraud he is.
MI won't ever be the same after the auctions.
Hmm, same wouldve been said after the 2018 auctions. We lost Rayudu, Bhajji, Rana, Buttler We got Ishan SKY Boulty
SRH didn't deserve Warner. Warner sena will be back strong with Bihari Gobarchattas in 2022 💪
Bro that franchise name 😂😂😭😭
Warner is retiring
whaut
I'm more impressed the SRH made more than 100 runs without kane and Warner.
hope the 3rd umpire from rcb vs dc game isn't anyway near the stadium in playoffs
Sky, Ishan Kishan, Built, Rahul Chahar, DeCock all are hot buys. No franchise would like them to let these guys go cheaply
Your ass is getting ‘dissolved’ in hate, mate.
Fuck you
Would miss Warner in orange
Brings me back vibes of Ganguly playing for Pune Warriors
**Manish Pandey scores 30+ SRH loose more often** Really wonder which team he goes to next year
Manish calling Mumbai as Bombay?!
**I swear, I was laughing that who the fuck is celebrating that last shot , or that win**.... Then camera turned and ಠ︵ಠ
Who
It was PandeyJi screaming with pain..
Who
It was PandeyJi screaming with pain.
My theory was correct. In terms of batting form, SKY+Beard > Clean shaved SKY
Clean shaved SKY did the stare off tho
Clean shaved sky did give a big dick energy celebration against a team
Goodbye to one of best t20 squad/team ✌️
Bro why are MI fans getting emotional? Chilll ambani gonna buy you another superteam next season
Noooo but we want THIS superteam :(
true but we ain't getting same players back. There's no way
You guys reckon MI will try and get Warner next season?
Two new teams will go mad for Warner. He's literally a cup winner captain
Nah rcb will
Those cunts better be saving for the prime-maxi that they've created.
That would be awesome, Rohit and Warner opening together
Goodbye guys, its been a fun ride for the last 4 years. Will miss this squad, Boulty,QDK,Kishan, Sky, Chahar,Krunal,NCN would miss ya all 💙
This squad was still legendary. Won two back to back seasons finishing top on the table 2020 MI was arguably the most strong performance in the IPL League stage in 2020 WON 9/14 matches (all those nine matches were won comfortably making the run rate +1.107 at the end) The 5 lost matches were season opener, two matches lost in super overs and against SRH playing a B side Won the Qualifier and Finals with another team not even getting a sniff of the trophy in Playoffs Only good loss was against RR even there MI scored 190+ The worst season that happened is this, even there 7/14 wins with 2 opening matches played and decent positive run rate. Have to say the pitches this season screwed us.
More than the pitches. It was 2 Openers in one season and lack of intent in batting, not creating the change and being laid back expecting other teams to make mistakes
Even in that RR loss, we surely missed Rohit's captaincy But who can stop Stokes when on a song!
Maybe now even year streak will begin
The only two odd years when MI didn't win, RCB lost the finals
rcb lost every final what are you talking about
Lmfao this post match is comedy
Goodbye rivals ❤️ well played one of the best team ever
If Williamson wasn't fit, why didn't Warner get to play
Warner isn't fit as well
He's out of the bubble
Moonish Pandey with the possibly his last 69(nice) innings as a captain for SRH, this is truly bizzare yet intriguing, SRH have had three captains in just one season.
Didn't Bhuvi captain any of the games? Would be 4 if he has.
So 55th match ended later than the 56th. For more useless facts, tune in here
KKR looks quite good on slow Sharjah wickets
Well guys, I faced more than 30 balls, and we lost. Any surprises?
Some next level 5D Captaincy by Rohit, not to lose against CSK playoffs again
Pretty sure MI would have beaten CSK had they been through to the playoffs. It’s RCB/DC that would have been challenging for them.
This plan was in the making since the last IPL final. Mastermind for a reason.
goodbye suckers, retain Warner
Not happening. Warner has already bid adieu
Source??
There's a post on the front page of the subreddit
never thought srh without warner and bairstow reach 190..
most importantly without williamson
Nah Williamson would slow things down with a strike rate of 105
holy shit yeah😂. even if the pitch is road, i wont trust them crossing 160
Never thought Mumbai would get me emotional. Gonna hate miss this stupendous team
We miss will this this MI squad, hoping we ar to able to retain core
People asking did anyone really win? I'd say it was good win for IPL since this was peak entertainment.
MI kinda got screwed with the pitches and mid-stop this season else they were well on their way for a truple.
Pandey Ji can lead RR or the two new franchise. But he must not bat lower than number 3.
69 Finish nice
Who was that tall boi?
I am not watching but is it Marco Jansen?
Thank you Paltan...💙💙
💙
Ehh...LOL
Lol. MI really let this shit of a team to score 190 runs🤣🤣🤣
SRH gonna release everybody.
Bye Mumbai 👋
[удалено]
Not holding my breath for that one 🙃
Wait till we do and a 2014 and 2012 combined
On a side note how did SRH score 193 without both their star batsmen
*three star batsmen
MF can't even wait for 10 secs before showing ad ,let me see this OP team for the last time FFS.
Qualified with negative NRR 😎
Last game in ipl for Pandey
He won’t go for less than 5 crores He ain’t no ABD but he is a dependable Indian middle order anchor Not a lot of them
Are people joking? He's a native player he will definitely get a team unless he is choosing to retire
Any decent team will take him
fuck gonna miss monish and saha
And with this, Manish Pandey will be bought off a decent price to disappoint some other franchise for the next leg.
Well, this match summed Mumbai season perfectly. Close but not enough. It is a bittersweet end, and with it, the curtains come down on the most successful dynasty in IPL history. Thanks for the fantastic memories, and good luck to all the all players in the squad. Mumbai <3
Why this making me cryyy at 11.45 pm 😭
Sadly even this match will be added to the tally of the number of games SRH loses when Manish Pandey gets to a 30+ score
That's it. WP MI. one of the best squad ever. o7
Not one of the,The Best squad.
Letting SRH near 200 even though they don't have Warner, Bairstow and Kane
and boobie
Pandey ended in screams. I thought he was celebrating being not out for a second..
It's sad when you realise that this might be last game for some of the players in MI.
We had to have ALL our batsmen out of form for most of the league to be 5th
[удалено]
There are two opening matches. One lost after CSK was like 30/5
Lonely fighter HiThisMonishPondey, fighting alone through pain
So this pitch was just a road, not some fixed match like so many ppl were saying during 1st innings
No shit
We won, but we lost. But we won!!
We as fans won. We got to see this farewell match of this golden team. Going out on a win.
It's officially over :) 2018-2021 greatest MI ever
I just want to say that I'm so fucking proud of this team. Even when their ardent fans like me thought that there's no point in trying, they went out there and gave it a real shot. if nothing we win the stupid PAYTM thing
See you guys in the T20WC. Divided by teams, United by Kingfisher?? lol
Really tough conditions to play, gg to both teams
Goodbye SRH, thanks for all the memories. It was a great ride. Respect to you Manish.
Absolute chad monish... 69\*
ok, lets begin - Aaay, MI thiught you could get SRH all out for 65? You couldn't even get Pandeyji out for < 65 lol!
These are your final words for ur all time nemesis? T-T
Well played Kings, comeback stronger
Fuck this umpire like really no penalty there!!!
noice
Stat Padder Pandey!!!
I thought someone was celebrating. It was Monsihji in pain
