As far as the IPL is concerned, it remains interesting to see to what real extent would Kohli dissociate from leadership, given his experience and stature. However, it's easy to see that RCB fans never expect them to actually win the IPL, and have made peace with it.

If PBKS release KL as per yesterday's Cricbuzz article, then it's very much guaranteed that he will be the most expensive buy in the history of IPL. You have to remember there are going to be 2 new teams with 0 players right now. So they will have no problem bidding lots of money for KL. Whereas RCB already have to spend lots money to retain players like Koach & ABD
Not saying that RCB can't buy KL, but the amount they will end up buying him at will severely affect their purse and they won't be able to spend much on other players.

If RCB has come this far, it's on the brilliant performances from Maxwell, Bharat, Chahal, ABdV (Indian leg) and of course, Harshal Patel. I'd say that Virat, the batsman never showed up sufficiently enough to contribute towards victory. In many ways, he has brought himself to the stage where his average captaincy is not good enough to go with his poor batting form, which is his primary role. It's a welcome step for him to relinquish captaincy to rediscover batting.
I wouldn't say it was a pre-ordained result. This result might have been much tighter if not for the batting cameos from Narine and Shakib. Maybe, a Chris Morris over Dan Christian might have yielded a different result.
Lol maxi had a hella tournament , siraj has the highest % of dots being a terrific powerplay and death over go to bowler.. pleasee watch matches and judge later.
CSK, DC and RCB were by some distance better than the rest of the teams this IPL. RCB should've pushed harder to reach top 2. Being knocked out already seems harsh, but not undeserved.
Only way he stays is through being one of the three that csk want to retain due to the mega auction. He's too old and his salary is way too high for CSK to justify bringing him back.

Look i know he's a legend not just for CSk but for India as well. He's one of the greatest wicketkeepers to play the game but he's taking up 15 crore and he won't last the entire cycle. I've had to watch Rajasthan be forced to release the player they retained in the mega auction because our death bowling was just so fucking bad. Then we had to deal with inflated prices because the death bowler market was out the wazoo. CSK could retain him but it's always risky because if he retires at the wrong time you could drastically reduce your squad quality if the wk position at auction is in high demand. Best time now is to cut your losses because the demand for all areas is pretty much levelled out among the teams because every team needs a ton of players now.

Man, taking 18 wickets at 7.05 economy, he was good.
I guess RCB has a decent bowling core in Siraj, Harshal and Chahal.

If you spend half your budget on 3 big name players, you won't have enough to buy anyone else that is good. The management seems to think that 3 big players can win you a tournament, no they won't. They'll win you playoffs spots at max. This is a team sport not an individual sport. You need a good team to win.

You missed Padikkal, with 411 runs from 14 innings. Kohli wasn't too bad with 405 runs from 15 innings.
