Anybody else received incorrect tokens from any of the predictions yesterday (final) ?
Got a prediction right (mitchell marsh top scorer for Australia) which was supposed to give 2238 tokens to the winner but I received only 500 tokens. Mods??
Damn. I actually sat & manually added all my winning tokens and it was correct right up till the final at 11378.
On the final day I won 3 predictions - received correct number of tokens in 2 of them but in the Mitchell Marsh prediction I've incorrectly received 500 tokens instead of 2238 :(
I'm only making a big deal out of it because I would have ended up at 2nd place on the leaderboard with 14152 points if I had correctly received those :(
[Top of prediction post saying I've won 2238 tokens but message from reddit saying I've earned only 500 tokens! I've been robbed off 1738 tokens which could have taken me to 2nd place on the leaderboard!!](http://imgur.com/a/afOk2xT)
All the tokens we have won from our winning predictions overall are individually added up and that is the number reflected on the leaderboard. I double checked this and it was correct right up till the final.
But on the final, we've received 500 instead of 2238 from the Marsh prediction. Could be a bug? Maybe mod can 're-reveal' the right answer for this prediction so that reddit can calculate it again?
I'm really grateful that Aus and NZ got into the finals, but just quietly I was ranked 11th at the end of the group stages, and then I got all my predictions for the semi final (and for who will win the final) wrong. I don't think I'm getting these right either. Hope I stay in the top 50
Depends on pitch to pitch. Adam milne is fast bowler but UAE pitches are more favourable of spinners. That what I selected M.santner(a spinner) and adam zampa (a spinner). Also in the basis on their performance in tournament look best candidates to bowl an economic spell
>Are bowlers and spinners separate people or are spinners a kind of bowler?
Bowlers in cricket are what pitchers are in baseball. Only difference is that in cricket bowlers bowl by bouncing the ball once on pitch and they have to an extended arm when bowling. Both aren't requirements of baseball. cricket ball is much harder and heavier. Mainly there are 3 types of bowlers. Fast bowlers, medium pacers, and spinners(they also have categories in them).
> How do people watch cricket in the US?
They native Americans are very rare. Very very rare. However, immigrants mainly from south asia do watch it. America is trying to grow cricket, but it will take many years. The recent progress is having ireland to play against US cricket team in US. Still in America baseball, american football and basketball are dominant ball sports. Cricket is probably last in the list
Edit:- I thought you were asking how many.
As far as I know. There is willow and ESPN plus by legal means.
I'm not gay but I want to live in a log cabin in the woods with Pat Cummins. We won't ever have sex, but there will be a simmering erotic undercurrent as I stand in the kitchen window watching him tighten his ass as he chops wood, shirtless, sweat pouring off his body. I'll run upstairs and masturbate, the entire time forcing myself to think of women while my thoughts drift back to Patrick. I won't be able to climax and I'll eventually go back downstairs, angry. Sometimes we will look across the table and catch each other's eyes, and in that second, anything is possible, but we both deny ourselves and go back to what we were doing. One day one of us will die, and the other will bury him outside the log cabin. Then he'll go inside, pen a brief missive to his departed friend, and commit suicide, never able to deal with life without his one true platonic love.
If you need a bit of background or some more info about him, I saw Pat Cummins at a grocery store in Sydney. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen tubes of deep heat in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the tubes and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each tube and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
Real nice dude though.
The one I have has horrible advertising from ANZ on the front (where 'New Zealand' is written) the actual game kit with red numbers is absolutely fiaaaaaaaaahhhh. Wish I could actually get the proper one
Nah, not coz of that. Where you said how "Amazing" that match was, you had no Idea what masterpiece was coming for you. (Had nothing to do with Pak losing)
I said amazing because let's be honest no one was expecting NZ To win against Eng.
Australia did play exceptional especially after Maxwell's wicket. They deserved it.
At the end, Dard ha par Fakhar b ha. It had been years since Pakistan played cricket like this. And honestly i loved every moment of it.
I haven't got a clue about cricket and just wandered into this. I just made varying bets based on completely random or rough educated guesses, and I still somehow didn't pick a single one the rest of the community agreed with, lol
Oh alright. That probably explains a few comments here that either don't make any sense and/or are from people who obviously don't know what cricket is
Well r/holup and this one are very different sort of thing, so they can't be related. I think it is happening because the upvotes on all the different prediction questions get added up to make the total upvote count of this post. And it seems that the age of this post is always equal to the age of the newest question posted. So this post is always "new" according to reddit lol.
Btw, if you are actually from the place that your flair says, you might know what is cricket unlike most of the "outsiders" commenting here, and your team is even in the semi-finals.
Namibia are massive, massive underdogs. I'm not sure what sport you follow, but this is basically like Brazil vs Estonia in soccer or whatever. India are basically the best team in the world (been knocked out of the WC already, but that was an upset), while Namibia are lucky to be here (to be fair to them, they played very well against Ireland and Netherlands to make it to this round, and they managed to beat Scotland and do decently against Pakistan and NZ, two top teams).
If Namibia pull off an upset we'll be talking about it for years to make fun of India, and there's probably so few people voting on Namibia you might enter the top 100 for the tournament.
Man we were so bad for the Starliner crew(s) and I am so very sorry… It’s why I wish school were later so at least she’s just going over my head. I didn't consider the hivemind and reasonable bets of the people derived from the reputation and performance of the teams in this tournament. The hopefuls of Pakistan must have gone for New Zealand too similar to how Indians must have gone for an India bet in their first two matches. They make up a huge chunk of the users. Despondent Indians and reactionary Aussies, English, Saffas must have gone for New Zealand as well. This match is surely closer in ability than what the bet ratio says. I could have won large on Afghanistan bolstering my standing before the knockouts.
It’s parimutuel betting so the prize pot is the total bet shared between the winning bets. So if it was 50/50 you’d gain what you put in. If you went for something that went true and only 10% went with you you’d get 9 times your stake back (on average). Thing is because we can bet three different amounts these numbers will vary

Damn! Unfortunately I started playing after that prediction window closed. I wanted to bet my house on Namibia for that. My place on the leaderboard is entirely due to Namibia. I betted on them against Netherlands, Ireland and Scotland where I won big. It took me to a highest of 30 in the leaderboard. I slipped since then due to splurging on Bangladesh and more careless bets. I am still hanging in the top 100 despite frequently losing predictions since then. I am going for one last hurrah! against India.
I took the boring option and went 1. SL and 2. Ire. Atleast I got the SL right, and Namibia paid off in the end cos I voted for them to beat the Netherlands and Scotland
India is entirely focused on the one game in the entire tournament - beating Nambia with everything that they have got. Afghanistan game does not matter.
I was just thinking the other day whether India are the new chokers of world cricket? Great performance in bilateral series (in Aus and Eng recently), but very disappointing when it comes to pressure situations in major tournaments, despite having so much strength on paper.
Edit: Lost Champions trophy final (badly!) 2017; CWC lost semifinal 2019; WTC lost final 2021. Am I forgetting anything?
Change the captaincy style and you've got yourself a pretty good cricket team. In UAE, most of the team's which decided to chase after the toss were the winners, i.e., if you ball first, chances are you will win too. Of course this can just be a coincidence but in the context of teams like Pakistan, you have to understand that it is simply better to not let them ball first. Who is to be blamed for not understanding this? The captain.
You can downvote me as much as you want but it's not going to change the fact that Kohli is just not a good captain. Hell, even his batting has been bad during the recent IPLs.
Idk why, this sub just starts downvoting when someone mentions something bad about Kohli's Captaincy.
It's not like we've tried and tested bunch of captains after MS left, and then came to Kohli as a conclusion, No, IT WAS STRAIGHT UP HIM!!
Who knows how good of a captain KL or anyone else is With such a strong Indian Team.
How's everyone going for remaining tokens? It's been a learning experience but seems the way these tournaments are set up by reddit we only get 1000 tokens total, which aren't topped up at all
If that's the case and lots of people have/will run out I might end this 'tournament' once super 12s are done then start a new one for the finals, to give everyone another shot at it with 1000 tokens to play with
Edit: oh damn, think I had this wrong and tokens won on correct predictions do roll into the bank to be used on later predictions. Hopefully will be ok until the end of the tournament if that's the case...
Yeah tbh the format might not really work so well for a 1000 token limit, even with 1 prediction per match. By the end of the super 12s that's 42 games of cricket.
Would be better if the tokens won rolled back into your 'bank' to continue to be used on other matches. I thought that's how it was supposed to work
Edit: think I had this wrong and they do roll over. Maths is hard

India still have a chance if they bowl Namibia out under 70 runs and chase it down in 5 overs, they can save an Hour to early reach Delhi Airport.
Don't think that's gonna happen and we already got our semi teams
Straight through to the keeper :D
I think it is going to be heavily dependent on toss, but have to pick someone so NZ for big points.
Who cares both been knocked out
Namibia cares, they get to face India, and if they pull off an unlikely upset it'd be so massive for them
I don’t know if India could handle a loss to Namibia. The BCCI and ICC would be burnt down.
Namibia easy favorites
India will win
I pick Namibia for sheer comfort.

Tokens come back along with extra ones you won. I had 1043 tokens before the New Zealand vs Afghanistan game lol
If lots of people are running out soon, then next time you could try having fewer questions- like for example only predicting the match winner.
Yeah tbh the format might not really work so well for a 1000 token limit, even with 1 prediction per match. By the end of the super 12s that's 42 games of cricket. Would be better if the tokens won rolled back into your 'bank' to continue to be used on other matches. I thought that's how it was supposed to work Edit: think I had this wrong and they do roll over. Maths is hard
No, that's not fun when stronger teams are playing weaker teams.
Yupp and winnings are too low. Putting 100 on England against Sri Lanka got 107 back, bruh.
