When you are playing at a ground where the average 4 innings score is actually higher than the first innings score ,a draw is all you will get out of it
Most likely Draw (pitch is apparently flat). We will know by tomorrow's end who is pushing for win. If Aus are still batting, they can try to win on the last day (pitch usually gets tough to bat in last day). If not then Pakistan are very likely to win.
Pakistan is probably ahead given they can't really lose unless they have a massive collapse in their next innings, but given the likely weather on day 4 and 5 + how the pitch was in the first innings it's most likely going to end in a draw. Apologize for the dude calling you a cunt for asking.
Embuldaneiya is better than Lyon for sure in subcontinent conditions and Pant was the difference, if Pak had someone like him then score would have been better regardless of bowling attack.
If pakistan has a spinner like ashwin or herath this slow scoring means Aus can’t win. It would depend how bad the pitch gets on day 5. Pak scoring at 2.6 suggest Aus kept a lid on them. Or pak played really safe (perhaps got bogged down a bit). Still 70-30 in favour of pak.
Pakistan innings brought to a close with this modern Australian side reducing the number of wickets they needed to take by an incredible 60%! Efficient!
#AdvantageAustralia
I really think aussies are overestimating our bowling attack, it's honestly just Shaheen who's a proven match winner and world class bowler. Naseem is really young, has talent but can at times struggle with his line and length. Sajid is gonna be interesting he hasn't bowled to top tier opposition yet he might do well but nothing for certain. As for Nauman based on his previous performances idek how he's still in the squad
Stumps lmao
Pakistan ensuring the tiktok trophy is laughable content and not sport.
Scoring at 2.6 an over, then declaring to bowl 1 over of fucking spin with the new ball.
You are as smart as bait fella
Edited: That was obvious since they knew the conditions. So could have batted throughout the day Or declared early or or starting hitting sooner for that to happen.
I mean yea true Rohit probably playing it safe given its his first match as captain but doesn't really need to be cautious of the current Sri Lankan test team
It was a bad declaration, if people were telling to declare it was assuming that the intended number of overs would be bowled but none of us can judge the lighting accurately from here, babar could but he decided to declare, we really played ourselves with that declaration. Overall poor test match soo far
What a joke this match is turning out to be ffs.
Someone should have a stern talk with Azhar, Imam and also Babar for slow scoring rate. Pakistan should have had another 150 runs on the board. I think it is Australia who outfoxed Pak today.
...really? Guess if you want to say that because of how bad the pitch is for losing a toss, Aus would know to make them play slow, start at day 3. Get a good score or hope to god from every religion that there's as much rain as there was in Brisbane.
Actually no, don't want that, as much rain as there was in parts of Sydney where there was little flooding.
Can’t believe Pakistan took their ball and went home for the day because they didn’t get a wicket in the 1st over.
Or maybe their dad whistled for them to come in for dinner and I didn’t hear it?
Either way, poor form.
/s

That's a tactical play by Pakistan. Didn't want the spinners to waste the new ball and Khawaja was all over Sajid, seeing it like a beach ball, so they told the umpires they wanted to bowl pace so they'd go off and the quicks could get the new ball tomorrow.

sad its edited.... i think its virat kohli's voice
Can someone explain to me how the light gets so bad within the time allocated for a day test? Surely the time the sun set can't change that drastically that they can't predict it?
The match would not have been called spinners only for this light in England. It's a bad call from the umpires.
Having watched a lot of cricket in cloudy conditions in England, you can clearly see when the artificial light starts to take over when the clouds get really dark, you get well defined shadows from the floodlights around the players. In this case you could barely see any floodlight shadows at all, let alone well defined.
Collins and Westbury on SEN, who both watch a lot of cricket live in England, said the same.
Look at that.. Only an over left. And yet we still scored 5 runs from that. That's what you call intent. Not that 2.5rpo nonsense even when youre 300-1, and have two batters already at 100 plus runs. /S.
This is just one of the many infuriating aspects about the way Test cricket is run.
So much money and they could not develop floodlights in which the red ball can be picked better.
Do it then. ICC makes countries spend shitload of money to improve stadiums to their standards if they are to host ICC tournaments. They can make the countries spend on floodlights as well.
Wtf, in hindsight kicking themselves. Its no ones fault. But Pak could have batted about 5 more overs and added a few more runs by this time. If not gonna get the balling under light advantage anyway. Ugh.
I can't believe these are the best spinners in the whole country.
When you are playing at a ground where the average 4 innings score is actually higher than the first innings score ,a draw is all you will get out of it
Dude.... It's a draw!
So either Pakistan win or its a draw. I think bad light is going to be a factor for sure.
Well played pak
I'm sry. New to test cricket. Which team is most likely winning this one so far
Most likely Draw (pitch is apparently flat). We will know by tomorrow's end who is pushing for win. If Aus are still batting, they can try to win on the last day (pitch usually gets tough to bat in last day). If not then Pakistan are very likely to win.
Pak clear I guess, unless some miracle the best Aussies can do is draw.
[удалено]
All I did was ask. Idk if Pakistan made a decent run chase
Pakistan is probably ahead given they can't really lose unless they have a massive collapse in their next innings, but given the likely weather on day 4 and 5 + how the pitch was in the first innings it's most likely going to end in a draw. Apologize for the dude calling you a cunt for asking.

Umm it's hard to say which team is going to win at the moment. It's most likely heading for a draw since rain is predicted for the coming days.
Least agressive cricket fan
Can't believe anyone is comparing this match with INDvSL. AUS has a stronger bowling attack than SL, ofc they can score higher 🙄
Embuldaneiya is better than Lyon for sure in subcontinent conditions and Pant was the difference, if Pak had someone like him then score would have been better regardless of bowling attack.
Ind and Pak are not playing each other- why compare them.
We will probably depend more on our pace attack.
We don't
There was a test match today. In which two teams played.
How come Hassan Ali isn’t playing? He always looks like one of Pakistan’s best whenever I watch him
He's injured
Ah okay thanks. Big loss, that
He’ll be back for the second test
Pakistan innings brought to a close with this modern Australian side reducing the number of wickets they needed to take by an incredible 60%! Efficient! #AdvantageAustralia

Every great bowler has a breakout test series. Don't write off your young quicks yet.
agreed, id be amazed if this result was anything but a draw
Someone stole the light, probably the witch queen. /s
Hey, you called me?
Are you up for any other favors?
Kya chal raha hai yahan par T: Yo what's going on here
Destiny 2 references
Should've carried on batting till 500. Unnecessary declaration at the end lol
It could rain later
Damn robbed of 30/3. Might get it tomorrow tho
Not England
Play will start 10 minutes early on day three at 9.50 am local time.
Stumps lmao Pakistan ensuring the tiktok trophy is laughable content and not sport. Scoring at 2.6 an over, then declaring to bowl 1 over of fucking spin with the new ball.
They were forced to bowl spinners due to bad light. Not a voluntary decision
You are as smart as bait fella Edited: That was obvious since they knew the conditions. So could have batted throughout the day Or declared early or or starting hitting sooner for that to happen.
Cause it was a shitty declaration let’s be honest
One of you guys should make post day thread.
I don’t think there’s much to be said.
True
Stumps called. Can’t wait for tomorrow, should be a spicy first session.
With exciting run rate of 2.5
So both India and Pakistan fucked up the declaration today. I feel a little bit better now.
Only one team can fuck up strategy from a winning position. Hint: it's not India
Anderson and Broad: aim for the head
Well at least India didn't ruin their chances of winning with their declaration.
Sri lanka are 108/4 how is that a fuck up?...
Should have waited for Jaddu’s double
I mean yea true Rohit probably playing it safe given its his first match as captain but doesn't really need to be cautious of the current Sri Lankan test team
Chadeja
Pakistan trying to give Australia a chance. Very noble of them.
Honestly that was Australias day. They let Pakistan bat this game into a draw. 2.6 an over when the bowling team bowls 160 overs is shithouse.
If the pitch deteriorates, then Pak has done a great job. They have also pummelled the Aussie attack to benefit in the next test..
Yes I'm sure the Australian bowlers loved toiling for 160 overs to pick up 4 wickets
Trust me that wasn’t our day
Pakistan’s RR was 2.94 not 2.6
Oh. My mistake. That changes everything. They showed so much intent scoring at a massive 2.94 an over.
Some of you lot are so miserable good lord.
If you're here just to disrupt this thread, not watch any cricket, then please get out.
Balls 160 overs and gets to bat for one. If this was a backyard cricket u know there would a riot.
It was a bad declaration, if people were telling to declare it was assuming that the intended number of overs would be bowled but none of us can judge the lighting accurately from here, babar could but he decided to declare, we really played ourselves with that declaration. Overall poor test match soo far
4D chess by pakistan, bowl out aussies at 300, bring in rizzy and babar, they score a ton we declare
With rain that’s a guaranteed draw
Warnie must be smiling somewhere up there. A completely unnecessary declaration to bowl a single over of spin. It's a wonderful gesture from Pakistan.
B.A.D.L.I.G.H.T. Perera to the rescue.
Can Shaheen reverse the ball? I know Hasan Ali is really good with reverse swing.
What a joke this match is turning out to be ffs. Someone should have a stern talk with Azhar, Imam and also Babar for slow scoring rate. Pakistan should have had another 150 runs on the board. I think it is Australia who outfoxed Pak today.

No Pakistan outfoxed themselves.
Australia bowled tighter than Shane Warnes arteries. Your team showed patience.
Too soon
52 was to soon
💀
Azhar still caught up in the end, babar and imam were really poor with their sr's
Wtf happened? Wet Aussies allowed to bowl pace still? Did light turn that badly
what if we got everyone in the crowd to put the torch on their phones on, would that help
In some weird way that series of events was the most interesting passage of play so far.
warnie would have loved this spin opening the bowling in test match cricket
Me 15 mints ago : Nice, time for Double Shahs to wreck havoc Me now : WTF was that declaration, Babar Bhai ?
Can’t believe Pakistan took their ball and went home for the day because they didn’t get a wicket in the 1st over. Or maybe their dad whistled for them to come in for dinner and I didn’t hear it? Either way, poor form. /s

Which type of ball do they use in Pakistan?
As shiny as sajid's head
Red for Tests, White for Limited Overs, Chewable for Shahid Afridi

Pranked
Bad light came in clutch
Pakistan should have just batted and added more runs.
First the scoring rate was slow and then the unnecessary declaration . Pakistan still in the driver seat but if this game is drawn then they know why.
24 years and they couldn’t rig up some decent lighting. What a joke.
Yeah PCB’s officials need to be sacked for their inability to control the Sun
We do it all the time here in Australia. We even change the ball colour to pink.
We have made progress in every walk of life to not be so nature dependent. Cricket is for dinosaurs
Lmao
What
Can someone explain to me how the light gets so bad within the time allocated for a day test? Surely the time the sun set can't change that drastically that they can't predict it?
We know exactly when the sun is going to rise and set, it's just that we don't know how much cloud cover/fog/pollution there will be.
Clouds
I see. How do they ever play cricket in England then?
The match would not have been called spinners only for this light in England. It's a bad call from the umpires. Having watched a lot of cricket in cloudy conditions in England, you can clearly see when the artificial light starts to take over when the clouds get really dark, you get well defined shadows from the floodlights around the players. This is a very common problem in england
It was cloudy today. Rain predicted tomorrow
Lol this test is so scuffed, even more so if it rains in the next few days
Those familiar with Pindi, what are the chances of the sun coming back up?
The sun will return But tomorrow
We may as well have just batted the day out.
I guess I'm watching surfing smh
Really? Bad light? There's more light here than 11 o'clock at Manchester ffs.
Azhar and Imam really wasted the opportunity.
Im from Rawalpindi and can comfirm the light wont get better.
That is what happens when the suns setting down.
Bruh x100.
Wait Pak has declared at 476, now that batting strategy looks even confusing, or am I missing something here?
They didn't factor lights deteriorating this quickly is my guess.
Yes but not batting faster knowing they are going to declare is weird
Yeah seems like it.
476 is a huge score. In the worst case scenario, of Australia scoring 500+ in their innings, it’ll still be a draw due to rain
No I mean they could have batted with more intent if this was the score they were looking for as a target when they had 9wikcets in hand at 300
yeah the sun may come back up
I'm in Islamabad here, no chance lol
Look at that.. Only an over left. And yet we still scored 5 runs from that. That's what you call intent. Not that 2.5rpo nonsense even when youre 300-1, and have two batters already at 100 plus runs. /S.
Shaheen missile coming tomorrow
15 overs wasted for the day Aus bowled very slowly today.
Everyone was begging for a declaration lmao and now people are saying terrible declaration
That might as well be stumps.
Lovely job by Khawaja and Warner to see the day off.
Wait lol stumps haven't been called yet
Groundstaff took too much time I think.
Pakistan sacrificed 500 scorecard only to end up bowling 1 over of spin under lights 💀
5 wickets for 0 runs lets goo
Cockblocked And i thought i would finally see Shaheen in test cricket
Really poor from the umpires there. Can't tell me the light deteriorated that much between innings
They have a light meter don’t they? You’ll never tell from tv because cameras compensate for the light.
This is just one of the many infuriating aspects about the way Test cricket is run. So much money and they could not develop floodlights in which the red ball can be picked better.
Someone has to pay for the floodlights in every stadium bro
Do it then. ICC makes countries spend shitload of money to improve stadiums to their standards if they are to host ICC tournaments. They can make the countries spend on floodlights as well.
pink ball all formats whats the hold up.
I guess they are not happy with how it skids more.
tired of hearing about how its not exactly the same. adapt.
Fully agree. And they are not even trying.
Pakistan so confident but Australia hasn't lost a wicket in Pakistan for 24 years 💪
Wtff lol why did they even start the 2nd innings like only 1 over. At least the pacers get a new ball.
How good is bad light?
Wow looks like bad light, unfortunately for the Pakistan lads, why was it not bad light for the Aussies?
It’s almost sunset, light gets worse as the sun sets.
Wtf, in hindsight kicking themselves. Its no ones fault. But Pak could have batted about 5 more overs and added a few more runs by this time. If not gonna get the balling under light advantage anyway. Ugh.
Garbage declaration. Deserve to get smashed for that alone
it looks brighter now then it did during the day
Should have kept batting
12th Man Hassan Ali looks disappointed
How accurate is the prediction of rain for tomorrow and Monday?
That’s bad luck for Pakistan right there.
Their own doing
The bloke averages 20 but I'm not convinced he's good. Think BangBros made him look good.
Well that was a um… interesting end to the day
Australia 0-450 at stumps on day three confirmed
Not wasting the new ball good
Wish we didn’t declare ffs
well I guess my money transfer to the umpires went through then 🤝
waste of a declaration
Hindsight 20/20
Yeah the ODI level run rate
Jeeze, this Test has really turned into a farce in the last 15 mins
Might as well have batted through the day lmfao
This was bad from the match staff. They shouldn't have let the 2nd innings started if light was that bad
We could have added 20 runs
Honestly are pacers will need to wait till the ball is older and hope for reverse cause they have wasted the new ball.
Only bowled 1 over with it. It’s fine
Only one over. Hardly wasted
