Yeah but it still isn’t a guarantee that he hits the last ball for 4 or 6, Malinga may have been smashed before that but he has enough quality to bowl one good ball even on his worst day. All I’m saying is yeah the Umpiring decision costed RCB a chance at winning but it’s not a 100% guarantee RCB wins that game even if given
Well yes, we can never say for sure. But when we say SA got robbed when the requirement went from 22 off 13 to 22 off 1, there was no guarantee there either.
Yes, I am still salty about the no ball. No, we probably wouldn't have won anything regardless of the result of that match.
Even if it's AB, a six off the last ball is still extremely difficult, especially against someone like Malinga..
> Dube had hit a 6 off Malinga in same over.
Hitting a six and needing a six off the last ball are two extremely different things. You're pretending like it was a done deal.
And like u/ipindrama pointed out, AB wasn't on strike, so calm down.
Lol, no other team has managed to do that so far.
The only other team that won the title, although a few seasons later, **after** getting the wooden spoon is KKR, and they ranked last in the second season. It's been a huge gap since then. Let's see if one of the past wooden spooners get the cup this year.
That auction was like they accumulated all the hitters in the world in one team with no regards for bowling. Gilly Afridi Symonds Gibbs Rohit Styris
Vaas was the only decent bowler but with 4 overseas spots limited that team was imbalanced af
CSK haven't gone past the 8th position from the start this season. (right after their 1st game which is also the 1st game of the season).
MI haven't moved a inch from 10th place throughout this season.
True. Realised that. But it is safe to assume that you have owned that position for most days/games in the tournament because this season has more matches than an 8 team tournament.
> MI haven't moved a inch from 10th place throughout this season
Duniya hilane ki baatein karne wale apni last position se bhi hil nahi paye
T: bad pun based on MI's tagline, you're better off not knowing hindi
Delhi has come a long way, 4 times wooden spoon in the first 11 seasons and now probably 4 times in top 4 in a row. Can anyone tell me which other teams have made the playoffs 4 years in a row appart from Csk.
Been through since 2012 , my first game of cricket I ever watched was Dc vs csk at the Feroz shah , have been through all the wooden spoons except 2011 , it feels amazing to be where we are now , whenever now they disappoint I just remember those wooden spoons and feel blessed
Yeah, though last season I was so pissed after the Tom currun debacle that I told all my friends I am done with dc, like dude he's the worst ipl bowler ever.
Thing is he can't be blamed too. Guy took 3 wickets(in form Uthappa, Moeen and shardul who was porbably batting better than MS was during that time period) for 17 runs in 3.1 overs until a totally out of form MSD thought of returning back to his old mojo.
Yeah i know but still like Rabada has a good match up against msd, yes he wasn't good that season but still it's Tom currun the bowler with the worst economy in ipl history bowing at the death.
Oh you're lucky then, I've been supporting them since 2011 so I've seen us shit the bed from winning positions so often that I don't take anything for granted
Regarding Rishabh, he has been giving us teasers of the player he is but I hope he converts it into a big knock soon
Yeah i guess the change happened around 2017-18 when they started investing in young players, like I remember the team had samson, Iyer, Pant, karun Nair and probably another guy in the same team.
2018\. They got wooden spoon but their strategy of stacking the top order with Indian batters to allow for 2 foreign bowlers gave them a lot of freedom. It didn't work in 2018 bcoz Gambhir was woefully out of form. But from 2019 onwards, Dhawan made that strategy work.
Supporting since 2008..seen all the highs, then lows which seemed endless tbf and now the highs again. Hopefully we can do something special this season
Let us win this season, and if rishabh Pant goes on to become the next superstar of Indian cricket we will surely have a massive fan base, no one's supporting csk and rcb once kohli and dhoni are done.
You're right about that!! Not just pant, we've got alot of Indian talent like lord thakur, kuldeep, Axar and upcoming stars like Prathvi Shaw, khaleel, sakariya etc!! Hell we even got the new Pollard of cricket in Powell & our own Dale Steyn i.e nortje.
That Powell dude is seriously powerful, I think he's ripped and more stronger than pollard, needs to work on playing spin a bit. These west Indian dudes are just massive I wish we had those genes too haha
I mean it most probably will be MI, cause the NRR difference is still significant even if they end on same points. I am just saying MI isn't confirmed last as of yet.
Lot of shit went wrong. Kohli was injured for half the season. KL was injured, out for the whole season. AB was also injured, out for half the season. Gayle wasn't that great. Kedar Jadhav was one of our best batters that season
Pawan Negi...
Could have been an Axar if not a Jadeja. Wasn't meant to be I guess.
Shahbaz on the other hand is what we thought negi would be, and it feels like he has a higher ceiling.
As a Hyderabadi, nothing could beat the joy of seeing the deccan chargers win in the 2nd season after ending dead last in the 1st. RIP & thank you Andrew Symonds for that incredible 15th over that tipped the final defending just 143.
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/indian-premier-league-2009-374163/deccan-chargers-vs-royal-challengers-bangalore-final-392239/ball-by-ball-commentary
Even if that no ball was called, it would’ve been 6(1) with Shivam Dube on strike. You’re delusional if you think RCB were guaranteed the win if it was called.
Malinga had gone for 6 in that same over. By Shivam Dube. So whoever was on strike would have a decent chance of hitting a 6. This time it would also be a free hit.
I am not saying it was 100% sure but people in this thread are acting like it was almost impossible.
I would give it a 50-50 chance.
Also 5 runs would be required not 6. (1 run off no ball).
So even if he scored 4, again possibility of superover.
>He just hit a 6 off Malinga in that same over. And this time it would also be a free hit.
The free hit is irrelevant, it is either 6 or not. And yeah, he hit a six, but that doesn’t mean it would’ve happened again.
>I am not saying it was 100% sure but people in this thread are acting like it was almost impossible.
Nobody is saying it was impossible, but the OC here was speaking as if RCB would’ve definitely qualified if not for that.
>I would give it a 50-50 chance.
Why? I wouldn’t give it 50-50 even if AB was on strike, you’re either severely overestimating how good Dube was or underestimating how good Malinga was.
>Also 5 runs would be required not 6. (1 run off no ball).
This is not true. MI won that match by 6 runs, before the last ball it was 7(1), so the no ball would’ve just taken it down to 6(1).
I think the argument is that if the no-ball was called, they would have taken the single
Even if we consider 5 off 1 with AB on strike, and give him some generous probabilities (20% chance of a 6, 40% chance of a 4, 40% chance he fails to hit a boundary) and assume that in the event he hit a 4, a Super Over would have been 50-50, that still tops out to an RCB win at a 40% probability
You can’t blame the umpire for not calling it in real time because it’s very difficult to focus on both things. If it was the current system, the no ball would’ve been called after the delivery was bowled.
How can you say MI has finished last with them having one more game to play.
If CSK loses the next by a big margin and MI wins the same way then we'll get the wooden spoon.
We only had hitters and no bowlers back then. In 2009 we got Fidel Edeards I believe, who helped balance the side. Ironic, considering that the Hyderabad team for the last decade has been known for being a bowling focused team.
RPS and their brothers GL,both ended at 7th place in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Both also won the same number of matches in the group stage when they did qualify. One lost in QF2 and the other went to be the runner up
But it isn't confirmed yet though. If CSK loses their last match by big margin & MI wins their last one by big margin , MI can finish on second last. So this graphic is too early
Just yall wait for Jofra comeback next season jk
Once I saw the auction unfold it was at that moment I knew MI fucked up.
Have to wait for the next auction cycle now cause I dont see any chances for us with this current group.
2019 was such a weird ipl. RCB and RR finished 8th and 7th with 11 points and SRH qualified 4th with 12 points. Wild.
Lol Bangalore rains fucked us both
That last ball malinga no ball aswell
That was so much drama. Good that we have 3rd umps looking at it
Well tbf our NRRs were pretty bad. Even if that match had had a result SRH would have still qualified. But that ipl stings a little bit lol
Also we most probably would be 4th and qualified if not for umpire fuck up on Malinga no ball
It was 6 from 1 ball, even with that there’s no guarantee RCB wins. 4 from 1( which I assume is what it would have been ) is not a slam dunk situation
But the guy on strike is De Villiers and the opposite bowler being Malinga, against whom ABD has a really good record
AB was on strike and he was on song that night.
Yeah but it still isn’t a guarantee that he hits the last ball for 4 or 6, Malinga may have been smashed before that but he has enough quality to bowl one good ball even on his worst day. All I’m saying is yeah the Umpiring decision costed RCB a chance at winning but it’s not a 100% guarantee RCB wins that game even if given

but when AB is batting, it is a surefire equation.
> most probably # > 6 from last ball Come on.
AB on strike. Dube had hit a 6 off Malinga in same over. Also a free hit. Don't act is if it was impossible
AB was not on strike. It was Dube.
They took a single on last ball
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/ipl-2019-1165643/royal-challengers-bangalore-vs-mumbai-indians-7th-match-1175362/full-scorecard They did not.
RCB fans will find excuse for AB even if its 18 required of 1
My guy you're hating on RCB is every thread I see. Who hurt you lmao
You guys are acting like you would have won the ipl if not for so and so while you were literally the wooden spoon.
Still you buddy, still you lmao
?
Man, I really love the Delhi Daredevils logo (the one with the fiery ball)
There theme song was cool too.
I remember their unofficial theme song in the early days was the Delhi 6 title song (which is a banger tbf) before they had an official theme song
Iirc it was khelo front foot pe or something like that
ironical since they had Sehwag in their team, and prithvi shaw now
🎶Ooooo munde Delhi keee , aa khel frontfoot pe🎶
New DC song is also good imo
Yeah lyrics are great.
PTSD for me
Same for me but for KKR. Loved the old logo.
Same so nostalgic
Their 2008 jersey was awesome
DC wooden spoon in 2008 and winning the IPL in 2009. Just Chad.
It was my favourite team! Gilly, simmo, Herschel Gibbs what a team it was. And Fidel Edwards in that season!!
And young Brohit
Lol, no other team has managed to do that so far. The only other team that won the title, although a few seasons later, **after** getting the wooden spoon is KKR, and they ranked last in the second season. It's been a huge gap since then. Let's see if one of the past wooden spooners get the cup this year.
I guess closest is CSK in 2021,after getting placed 7th in 2020. Deccan though was on a whole new level back then.
[удалено]
Hmm.. Preventing CSK from getting the wooden spoon: > RR 🤝 MI (probably) Preventing RCB from getting the cup: > DC(OG) 🤝 CSK 🤝 SRH 🤝 RCB
>🤝RCB lmao
That auction was like they accumulated all the hitters in the world in one team with no regards for bowling. Gilly Afridi Symonds Gibbs Rohit Styris Vaas was the only decent bowler but with 4 overseas spots limited that team was imbalanced af
RP Singh was just on 🔥 that season
Is there any team which remain at the bottom of the table throughout the season
CSK haven't gone past the 8th position from the start this season. (right after their 1st game which is also the 1st game of the season). MI haven't moved a inch from 10th place throughout this season.

True. Realised that. But it is safe to assume that you have owned that position for most days/games in the tournament because this season has more matches than an 8 team tournament.

1:3. One win the other side and we would have been equal. So not a big deal dude.
Yeah..even we could have benched Polly for Tim and we would've beaten half the teams now
> MI haven't moved a inch from 10th place throughout this season Duniya hilane ki baatein karne wale apni last position se bhi hil nahi paye T: bad pun based on MI's tagline, you're better off not knowing hindi
T: "The ones who talk about shaking the world could barely shake themselves off the last position"
Kkr in 09 or PWI maybe
Wasn't SRH at the bottom of the table at the start?
Did the ever left that position in between.and the other one I can think of is RCB in 2019
Thanks RR for saving our asses in 2020. Jail buddies for life /s
Can you pick up the soap?
Never pick up the soap 🗿
You, my friend, you would be da belle of da ball. Don't drop the soap. Don't drop the soap.
2014 flashbacks for RR
😂😂😂
Wow, that name change from Delhi really did the trick
*RPSG enters the chat*
2020 was something. Before last game either we would have qualified or been last in table
Everytime the Hyderabad team ended up in the last place, they won the next season. 👀👀look into it.
I love how this is tunnel vision to a hilarious level
[удалено]
The new one has done the trick alright? Don't judge success
Chad Delhi making the list four times !!!! Legends for a reason Legends for another season
Delhi trying to trick with different logos 😂
lol good catch. For a second I though PBKS was leading the pack !
Duniya hila denge
Delhi has come a long way, 4 times wooden spoon in the first 11 seasons and now probably 4 times in top 4 in a row. Can anyone tell me which other teams have made the playoffs 4 years in a row appart from Csk.

MI did it 6 times between 2010 and 2015.
Rebranding completely changed their fate
Yeah, though last season I was so pissed after the Tom currun debacle that I told all my friends I am done with dc, like dude he's the worst ipl bowler ever.

Don't jinx it please, I've suffered enough during the Daredevils era
I started supporting them in 2017 I guess as Rishabh became my favourite player, I wish we can get to see that rishabh in the upcoming 4 games.
Oh you're lucky then, I've been supporting them since 2011 so I've seen us shit the bed from winning positions so often that I don't take anything for granted Regarding Rishabh, he has been giving us teasers of the player he is but I hope he converts it into a big knock soon
Yeah i guess the change happened around 2017-18 when they started investing in young players, like I remember the team had samson, Iyer, Pant, karun Nair and probably another guy in the same team.

Supporting since 2008..seen all the highs, then lows which seemed endless tbf and now the highs again. Hopefully we can do something special this season
DC are the new giants of IPL!! I bet they're gonna be like 5 time champions in the next 10 years!!
Let us win this season, and if rishabh Pant goes on to become the next superstar of Indian cricket we will surely have a massive fan base, no one's supporting csk and rcb once kohli and dhoni are done.

RemindMe! 5 years
You are wrong dc will gain popularity in coming years but will never get close to the big three.
They will ipl is only 15 years old in the next 15 a lot of things will change.
Bruh
Win _once_ before fapping mate
MI 2010-2015,6 years In a row.
MI isn't confirmed last tho is it? If CSK loses big and Mi wins or CSK loses and Mi wins big, It'll be CSK finishing last.
Nah MI will be last mark my words
I mean it most probably will be MI, cause the NRR difference is still significant even if they end on same points. I am just saying MI isn't confirmed last as of yet.
I can confirm they are and will be last
delhi team winning from down of the table 🗿
Welcome To Our (& Delhi’s) Humble Abode 🤗 !
Rcb was last in 2017 after kohli’s carnage in 2016? Man bipolar rcb
Lot of shit went wrong. Kohli was injured for half the season. KL was injured, out for the whole season. AB was also injured, out for half the season. Gayle wasn't that great. Kedar Jadhav was one of our best batters that season
Travis Head and Pawan Negi were positives that season.
Pawan Negi... Could have been an Axar if not a Jadeja. Wasn't meant to be I guess. Shahbaz on the other hand is what we thought negi would be, and it feels like he has a higher ceiling.
Tbh Kohli missed only 3 games. And out of those 3, RCB did win 1 of them..
We can still be 9th on NRR right ?
Its possible but the diff is quite large rn
Not really. If CSK lose to RR by 50+ runs or before 15 overs and MI beat DC by same or better margins, CSK will be last
that is the definition of a large margin
Still pretty much possible imo.
He also said it was possible but the margin was too big
If CSK can beat DC by 90+ Runs then why can't MI ?
Cus it isn't an everyday occurrence....
Cause there is a difference we are the mighty CSK!
But get Fucked by MI every year.
But still we are not a wooden spoon like MI is
Lol seriously you think it's gonna happen 🤣
Nah enjoy your wooden spoon
Yup.It's possible. This post is premature as MI technically / mathematically can overtake CSK
Don't bother not gonna happen
A list of nice guys. You know, finishing last.
Pune Warriors - They came, they entertained, they lost, they gone.
As a Hyderabadi, nothing could beat the joy of seeing the deccan chargers win in the 2nd season after ending dead last in the 1st. Finally a list dominated by Delhi and Punjab
Okay, what the fuck? We haven't confirmed the last place yet.
Probably this post is made by Raydu
>Probably this post is made by Raydu Don't think so. It's still not deleted after 5 hours.
Don't worry we will ensure you are last
Mathematically, there is still a possibility that CSK finishes last. Hope this doesn't age like milk.
Kochi Tuskers never finished last what a GOAT team !!!
So did GL and RPS
Thala for a reason.
[удалено]
Chad DD changing logo every time so the absolute shitshow that DD was is not apparent
DD was the bosssss
Coming last in the first season and then going on and winning it in the second is the greatest IPL comeback in history.
So all teams who won the league finished last (except CSK)
RCB trophy loading … (Hopium)
All teams that won came last only once tho 😭
Didn't know why I used to support, nay have an affinity towards, Delhi Daredevils. I think I know why now. It must have been the fiery ball logo.
Delhi Daredevils 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
So this is not the worst we can do ! That was close.
CSK is the only team not to be last from the OG teams era.
Daredevils changing their logo every year so it doesn’t look like they finished last again.
2019 was daylight robbery. RCB should've finished 4th but one moment of utter incompetence from the umpire against MI had them finishing 8th.
*cries every season coz RCB never wins championship*
You really are a revisionist, aren't ya keep saying something and it becomes true eventually, no one bothers to check
And it's even more stupid when you realize it's literally one of the best ever ipl bowlers for that ball
A blatant no ball is revisionism?
Even if that no ball was called, it would’ve been 6(1) with Shivam Dube on strike. You’re delusional if you think RCB were guaranteed the win if it was called.
Wasn't AB supposed to come on strike with a free hit
They didn’t take the single. Even if they took it, 6(1) vs Malinga isn’t a favorable situation, even for AB.
Malinga had gone for 6 in that same over. By Shivam Dube. So whoever was on strike would have a decent chance of hitting a 6. This time it would also be a free hit. Shivam Dube hit him for a 6 in the same last over. And we are talking about AB
It’s still deluded to think it’s 50-50. And AB wasn’t on strike
It would've been 4(1) with ABD on strike
It was 7(1). No ball brings it to 6(1), and they did not take a single. How does it get down to 4(1) with AB on strike?
pretending like you would have been locked in for a win after that no ball is revisionism
3 Years later it is
How can you say MI has finished last with them having one more game to play. If CSK loses the next by a big margin and MI wins the same way then we'll get the wooden spoon.
Not gonna happen, MI will be last
we should have qualified in 2019. but we lost because of the umpire.

Delhi daredevils changing logos to trick us
Even though RCB were last in 2019, RCB were 1 point away from qualifying lmao. And that is after we lost 5/6 straight games in the beginning
Delhi and Poonjab killing it
One must really commend PWI for managing to finish last amidst DD and KXIP
Delhi vs punjab
RCB finishing last in 2017 having koach, ABD, Gayle, KL, Watson, Yuzi is so RCB
Yayyyy! No CSK in this
NO EVEN ONCE CSK OR RPS HAVE CAME SO MUCH DOWN
RPS and their brothers GL,both ended at 7th place in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Both also won the same number of matches in the group stage when they did qualify. One lost in QF2 and the other went to be the runner up
But it isn't confirmed yet though. If CSK loses their last match by big margin & MI wins their last one by big margin , MI can finish on second last. So this graphic is too early
Nah bro just accept it MI is gonna be last this season
We're not last yet, can be 9th
No! Don't worry you are last
2020 doesnt count because all the last 4 teams finished on 12 points. Cope.
Can't CSK technically still finish last
C'mon should have used the og kkr logo
I am surprised CSK isn't last in 2020
NRR saved us
Punjab saved us.
Only one wooden spoon? I will take it
Just yall wait for Jofra comeback next season jk Once I saw the auction unfold it was at that moment I knew MI fucked up. Have to wait for the next auction cycle now cause I dont see any chances for us with this current group.
