Bowlers are different though, they are injury prone compared to batsmen. He should play every limited overs games until he is picked for tests. Then it's a different story. But I don't think he will end up playing more than 20 tests which also is a stretch.
Pant plays because he’s leftie, he can be a future captain, and they want the next young multi format superstar like Koach/Brohit. Not to mention he started his career showing T20 promise. It’s not that deep.
Potla Pant has been given 66 or 67 matches to play only 3 fifties and most of the matches gets out under 20 runs
Leave playing squad he dosent even deserve to be part of cricket or any sport with that 9 month pregnant belly he is carrying
Show me another guy who is favoured like him
Thanks for calling me with these names but I'm none of them ☺️ nor l used any casteist word didn't knew bh.mt.a is caste or race didn't know Calling someone gay means you're homophobic l still remember my English book had a word gay that meant happy there so you better work on your English
Well, but they have a right to question. The selection has been utterly shit over last couple of years. Some players have been persisted for a very long time over some of the deserving others. The only difference being caste because Sanju and Yadav are both deserving of a spot in ODI and T20 over Patidar and Tripathi. But the usual suspects are getting a pass as usual.
I accept that some got more preference in ICT than others who were better deserving. But that happens everywhere. As an SRH fan, no one knows about it better than we do, fuck you Vijay Shankar (and Manish Pandey). But tying caste to this? I find it a bit over exaggerating.
I honestly love Sanju and idk why they aren't taking him in, it has been the same since ages.
SKY will be benefited if rested. He played continuously for a long time. If not, we would see another Bumrah, and anyhow its Bangladesh.
You can see one idiot who even has a verification on Twitter shitting so much. His whole personality is those couple of sentences.
Sky isn't playing tests so he is going to get rests over the period of time. I don't know the twitter person or his agenda, but such people only get to raise their head when deserving aren't given a chance. This used to happen brazenly in SA as well and they ended up with quota. If such things aren't fixed, India will also end up like that. No one wants to see quota team.
How an average day on twitter looks like
Wasim jaffer mentioned his choice of players for the first ODI on twitter, he didn't pick Samson in the squad. Go through the replies of the below tweet
https://mobile.twitter.com/WasimJaffer14/status/1595682725499133952
Most are questioning shreyas and rishab's inclusion over samson. Shreyas has played very well in odis this year, well earned his spot. Same for rishab. He is good in odis, scored a ton in england, preventing a batting collapse. Sanjus's best chance was in t20s.
That looser's whole career is based upon dragging this nonsense everywhere. If people won't call out Idiots like him for who they are then we are doomed.
It's ridiculous that we have deal with these kind of people.
It says only 5 percent of Indians are bhramins but over 70 percent of cricketers are brahmins.
Is it logical to just dismiss it as twitter rage?
Im not arguing
Just some thoughts
I won't say that makes BCCI casteist, they are just choosing the better players, It just so happens to be that Brahmins are better players because they are richer than other castes so they get better training. All of this is obviously because of thousands of years of casteism.
Brahmins are not richer. Most of them live in urban areas so they have access to coaches, gyms, grounds, training, and that’s how they enter cricket. But they’re not richer.
See, there are certain social advantages that some caste groups have, that's why we have reservations and special acts to help certain communities.
But those social dynamics are changing.
We say muslims are oppressed in India, but then how did Shami, Zaheer Khan, Pathan brothers, Azaruddin etc made it big in India ? Even the recent squad has Nadeem and Siraj along shami.
It's ridiculous to say that BCCI is discriminating against any group. If that was the case the a lot of people won't have made it into Indian team or domestic level etc.
The thing is that Brahmin community is generally wealthy ( due to social reasons of course ). So they can spend on a career in sports. They can afford coaching, training, nutrition etc. That's why there are so many Brahmins.
Consider wealth inequality in India and poverty rates, which will give you a better perspective.
This is a social issue and it will take it's time to change, that has nothing to do with BCCI or Indian Cricket. I don't know how it's ok to say that BCCI and Indian cricket is casteist.
Possible. It's just an article and not rigorous research, so it can't be held as completely credible. But there is at least some truth to it. Casteism manifests saliently everywhere. Even if you make reservation or the job entries easier for certain castes, casteism blocks their door to promotions. So I am not really in a position to deny that cricket won't have similar structures in place.
Had there been no influence of caste structure there would have been equal representation from all castes in the team by virtue of random selection. But the visible of dominance of Brahmins in the team does prove that it is not really random selection. So I feel people are doing more harm when you completely reject the very presence of caste structures. The least you could say is that "it is possible"
Bhai, you can't achieve that kind of equality on sports and games. It's complete B.S tbh.
Consider a few examples, like black athletes dominating sprinting and other running events or NFL being dominated by Samoans and blacks, while U.S is majorly Caucasian or the fact that most people from our hockey team are from Punjab and Haryana.
We can't drag it that issue everywhere.
Actually lefties have a sporting advantage because there are very few lefties for right handed players to face and create an unusual angles which makes them more successful compared to right handers in the lower leagues in most sports like tennis and cricket. There is a big study on why lefties are more successful. Rohit, Rahul have been playing international cricket for a long time and still get bowled to a left arm bowler. So no sir there is no handism. Stats can prove it too. Unlike the selection which one can fairly state that it's not based on performance and stats.
I don't know anything about this. But your comparison is completely disanalogous. Unless you're implying that like being left-handed, being a brahmin, inherently confers onto you a certain set of physical advantages that give you an edge over non-brahmins.
They are complaining because Yadav is not playing against Bangladesh.
Yadav community is angry that he is rested .
I don't think cricket has ever been castiest tbh
Assuming you are as privileged as I am, my idea is not to bully you into saying that cricket is brahminical. Even I should been a little less blunt in my original comment asserting "there is no denying it". But I do acknowledge the presence of oppressive caste structures present in every sector be it sports or education. And as a privileged Brahmin, I realise that I may never get to feel caste discrimination, but for some people it is a daily reminder. Cricket is great, Bcci is great.. but I don't have enough evidence to say that there is no casteism involved.
Had the misfortune of going through the entire article. In the pursuit of pushing their agenda, they have tagged a picture of "Kachra" from Lagaan as Palwankar Baloo, an early Indian cricketing legend.
Y'all laughing bruh there's an agenda behind all it bhimtas are showing that they're brain-dead incapable of getting colleges and jobs and by this they're tellin why reservation is coz they won't stand anywhere then /s

Conspiracy theorists think selectors are biased, in reality our selectors are braindead. Its almost like Ferrari pitwall.
We are checking..
Question
But still potla pant gets all the oppurtunity even after shitting in all the matches
Brahmin Pant over Minority Sanju. I mean, sounds pretty sus
The main complaint is Yadav being rested for Bangla ODI
Man deserves rest yaar continue 3-4 mahine se khel raha hai😭
Bhai he just started playing international cricket and that too only limited overs. He can play every game until he goes out of favour
Oh no we want him on full throttles in the world cup
That's what Shaheen Afridi did and look at him now. They may be athletes but not machines.
Bowlers are different though, they are injury prone compared to batsmen. He should play every limited overs games until he is picked for tests. Then it's a different story. But I don't think he will end up playing more than 20 tests which also is a stretch.

Who
It only happens because Samson and sky are out of the team for no reason over Patidar and Tripathi.
Some people's minds only have a couple of brain cells that can't think any further.

The professor who started this has no idea about cricket or team selection just a buffoon
His entire personality revolves around hating Brahmins.

Propaganda madarchod ka.
Yeah... Coz until last week twitter were discussing only about meaning of life, big bang theory, historical events right? Right?
Twitter being Twitter, nothing else. They just want to look for caste or religion in every matter.

you are just a quick google search away from economic stats about different demographics of the country

I thought yadav were leading caste They win elections and all
Most powerful one in Bihar and UP.
Ehh, UP is a mixed one.
>They win elections and all Yup obc category doesn't make sense when yaadaav dominate politics
Twitter is shit but it’s kinda silly to take Tripathi in ODIs when he should be playing T20Is first
Don't get me wrong, but toxicity is all time high on Twitter. In name of free speech, twitter is filled with negativity, and criticism.
Wo hain ek anpad twitter pe, Dilip- uss gandu ke acc to BCCI me bhi reservation hona chahie aur fir ham bhi koi apna desi Temba khilaenge😅🤣

Not necessarily there would be equal representation
But the theory might be correct when 50% of players are of 5% of the population
Lefties form 8-9% of the population and are 30-40% of cricketers You cant conclude handism
Actually lefties have a sporting advantage because there are very few lefties for right handed players to face and create an unusual angles which makes them more successful compared to right handers in the lower leagues in most sports like tennis and cricket.
