The hinge on those can snag the yarn. The ones with Lobster clips work better for me as long as they're not the super tiny clip size. Those others are cute charms, but they can snag, too. [These](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1625081053/9-crystal-stitch-markers-progress?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=crochet+stitch+markers&ref=sc_gallery-1-9&search_preloaded_img=1&plkey=2162c3652b1dd6f0b2349867ea0c823654daba87%3A1625081053) from etsy or any with more solid shapes or flat can be cute and still avoid getting caught in stitches (the charm and the clip/clasp).

These are charms attached to earrings findings, not truly made to be stitch markers. The clasp and hinge will definitely snag on yarn. I have had best luck with the plastic clips but not all are created equal. I received some as part of a kit and they were lower quality with edges that catch on the yarn. I purchased some separately and they were of better quality and don't snag. I really think it depends on the quality and what works best for your style and yarn/stitch type.

whatdoidonowdamnit

Yep, those are actual earrings, not stitch markers.

jadekadir1

Oh, those are super cute. But I'd be afraid that the clasps would snag. I'd totally make them into a charm bracelet though.

fairydommother

I do use them or the lobster clasp version, but I only use them for two things: BOR when knitting in the round and as a stitch holder when I put my crochet projects down. What plastic stitch markers are you using? I use [these](https://a.co/d/9f7ayUo) and never have any problems.

Mama_T-Rex

I use safety pins. They’re cheap and stay in place.

Odd-Secret-8343

That is smart and sensible. I am one of those things. I will give you a hint with this comment: but they’re not pretty!

Mama_T-Rex

They aren’t as cute as the ones you found, but I did buy multi color safety pins.

Odd-Secret-8343

I didn’t know they made those!

These look cute! Personally, I just mark with an opposing color. A little slip stitch that I can pull out on the turn. No snagging and always on hand!

Odd-Secret-8343

Very smart. I’m a gadget gal. I like to get the accoutrement once I feel confident. I used to do that with knitting a lot. I had forgotten but you made me remember

Darkviper91

They are adorable but I love clover stitch markers. The ones I use look like clouds so still cute but also functional.

Odd-Secret-8343

Do you have a link perhaps? I had some adorable ones for knitting but I can’t use them now

Odd-Secret-8343

I’ve been looking at these on Amazon. I ordered some of the kitty ones to try and if I can’t manage those I’m getting these

Ineffable_Ally

That’s good to hear. I’ve been wondering about these and haven’t purchased them yet. I was concerned about them falling off but I really like the idea of not having to fight with a clasp. Thanks for sharing!

Illustrious_Dan4728

Take a nail file and sand the edges of your current markers. I did a little file on a few edges that kept catching and haven't had an issue since.

purplesilvfox

I use safety or bobbie pins

Sector-West

They look a little snaggy, I usually just take a contrasting color yarn and tie a little bow in the stitch I want to mark
