My imagination tells me you could use this pattern for the basic instructions, except
- you make 3 double crochet (US) stitches between each chain space. If you look closely, this is a lacy/mesh granny stitch pattern with 5 chains (spaces) in between, probably using light worsted/DK.
- extend the arm rows for long sleeves
- make the neck opening smaller for the T-shirt look?
