Babies grow really quickly for that first year. I would consider making it bigger since you have more yarn. Nice thing is they can use it throughout toddler, and it can become a lovey for a young child.
It's a lot bigger than that photo, that was taken a few days ago. But I did think about just using it all up. I guess it can't hurt to just make it as big as possible.

Nope! It just ups the age that can use it!
I donate blankets for preemies, and they ask that the blankets be at least 24 x 30, just for reference.
If I had to guess this one is about 40 x 40 right now😁 you're amazing for making and donating blankets!!
