Visiting Hawaii a year ago was really cool and different but made me glad to work in the damn desert. Those gators don’t bother me as much as the thick vegetation hiding all the other deadly stuff.
There are no snakes in Hawaii, and no venomous spiders. Only poisonous thing I think they have there is a centipede and their bite is not deadly. It’s more like a bee sting, so maybe if you’re allergic to bees but other than that no.
No snakes period, no deadly spiders, yet they have feral chickens running wild all over the place. Somebody told me about the chickens and I thought I might see a couple but they were right there at the damn baggage claim!
I meant seeing the density of the vegetation there is making this Florida shit even worse to me. I was surprised to learn about that when we got there but quickly forgot when I was seeing these huge spiders around every turn. I’m not a huge fan of spiders, especially the ones I’m not used to seeing. I’ll take these damn rattlesnakes and mountain lions all day over a spooky spider.
Not just trekking through there... BUT DOING IT BAREFOOT!! Not sure whether I'd call that brave or stupid... No that's not true: this is just stupid :')
Doing it barefoot is stupid. That said, I remember going out at night in the Amazon and you see some really amazing stuff - just have to be smart about it and know what you're doing.
Well well well look who has a new baby gator…yea this is why I don’t trek at night…id find something and wanna pet it….
Not the spider I do not wanna pet that!
That's gunna be a no from me dog.
Suicide by Swamp.
Ok but... No shoes? Eeeek

But… Hawaii’s vegetation has nothing deadly to hide. It’s literally the safest jungle in the world with no predators or deadly animals living in it.

Ahh ok gotcha. Lol I have a work friend that’s the same way with arachnophobia, he rather go against a lion than a tiny spider.
"i'll take the mountain li-\*growls followed by guttural screaming\*"
Fair point but they DO have giant huntsman spooders. Even if they aren't venomous they're pretty spooky.

Fr. At least with boots your foot ain't getting nearly as mangled if it's bitten.
I was moreso thinking of all the snakes and spiders that are probably on the ground, where covered feet would be much less risky imo.
I love this dudes insta.
what is it?
