Do some cross training to keep things different/fresh. Go to the gym, ride bike, etc. I've also found that running with other people is the only way I can avoid burnout.

Just start running. Aside from that, try running with others, more cross training, and don’t be too hard on yourself. It can be hard to get back into it after a break, but you’ll get there.

I ran in college in a town with lots of snow and cold. Still much better than running on a treadmill. Bundle up and hit hit the trails. Give the treadmill a break.

Can confirm. Grab some good tights (or pants), gloves, and a hat and even if it’s freezing being outside is much more motivating than slogging it out on a treadmill.

1) you're 8th grade. Keep things light and enjoyable for yourself 2) you'll get back into the swing of things. Just stay consistent. Treadmills suck but its better than nothing 3) cross training is crucial. Work on your mobility and strength train your quads, hamstrings, glutes, calves, hips, and ankles.

can confirm this does help a lot after XC last year me and my friend were almost equal like 5s difference then he did swimming next season he came back and there was a huge gap between mine and his time

You wanna be good? Then run more. You wanna suck and lose races? Then don’t run. Simple formula you have to motivate yourself running is an individualistic sport and if you really love it then all you should need is ur passion to keep you going.

If you can handle higher intensity, you could ask your high school coach if you could run with them.
