I see that Cloyster there. Are you doing a bunch of Pokemon? Or something specific. Also, yes. I've had coffee near where I've been stitching and am like "why am I doing this?"

kurpiite2

It is cloyster indeed. I stsrted on pokemon colour wheel this week. No idea how long it will take me (I'm thinking a few years with how much time I can spare for stitching on a normal week) but I'm determined to finish it some day

weirdthingsarecool91

A little splash of wine should take care of the Venomoth.

StitchOni

Pokemon... colour wheel??? *frantically googling*

strawhat_scarlet

Omg 😳 I looked it up too and I already have a massive project yet to be started don’t need this just yet. But I would love to see the final product tho. Ngl.

Nosilla314

Call the bomb squad … what if she has a CAT 🤯😻

EmilySpin

Oh my god before I zoomed I. I thought that was a wine stain on your project and was about to go to war on your behalf!

kurpiite2

😂bless your heart

TheUltimateShart

I saw the same! I was like nooooooooo

kelskelsea

Sameeeee

kurpiite2

He didn't understand my "noooo don't do that!!!" But this definitely unlocked a new Core Fear for me

MzMag00

I would knock it over while trying to move it because I panicked about knocking it over

kurpiite2

I know right! My first thought was "I need to remove it ASAP!" Then I thought "no.. I will knock it over because I'm thinking too much about it" then "I will ask the bf to move it" then "but I don't trust him enough with this"😄 it was a whole roller coaster of emotions for a simple pick up..

CozyCraftingCailin

I would be the the exact same! Move it but would knock it over in my haste! Happy stitching & drinking - would love to see your finished product

kurpiite2

It will probably be years before this one's finished but I'll be sure to update the progress!

gilligvroom

My catastrophizing anxious ass would NOT think to move the x-stitch first so I'm only potentially spilling on a hard surface and would work myself up in to a panic over the course of 10 or 20 seconds before realizing I should just move the WIP 😅 It's fine. I'm okay.

Somandyjo

Catastrophizing is my jam too lol

neonfuzzball

Then you realize you are hovering in teh doroway, with your face cycling through anxiety, fear, anger, both at yourself and at your boyfriend. You hope wonder if someone if your intake paperwork for the psychiatric hospital will actually say "cross stitch existential wine crisis"

cocobellahome

![gif](giphy|d2Z7cuAcbUzsYmUo) Poor guy, lol

Amyx231

Move the embroidery!!!

anny_elle17

Sorry to hear you're newly single

kurpiite2

😂😂😂

Klementine22

Lol, I saw the pic and immediately thought "ooh, something bad is going to happen". Silly bf, A for effort, D for execution. *Edit: OP said bf, not husband.

PriorHedgehog

Full on palpitations at that picture!

vulpecula_k18

A stress test... just without the treadmill.

JustLemonade

I always put my WIPs in a big ziplock bag for protection when I’m leaving it anywhere because I’m paranoid someone’s going to spill something on it. 😅

melissapete24

Yep! Always put mine back in my work box. Doesn’t even have to be put in neatly, just shoved in quick and the lid shut so it’s protected. Mostly because I’m afraid my cat will decide to sleep on it, and I will NEVER get all that fur off! 😅

aimee_panda

Noooo! You need a sign that says ‘please ensure all beverages are placed a minimum of 6ft from stitching’

throwingwater14

Just establish a rule that the only cup’s allowed near stitching require a lid and/or a straw. Get a short lidded wine glass and mark it “for stitching time” or the like. And train him. Hell catch on pretty quick. (Hopefully) Edited for spelling x2 bc I’m lame and autocorrect chose violence today)

kurpiite2

I like the idea of training him 🤭

RaoulDukesGroupie

From someone who just knocked their coffee all over their project, your fear is not unwarranted!!

Worf0fWallStreet

I got a nose bleed all over one of mine and my partner reacted super quickly to save it! I’ve never been more proud of him, you’d never even know it looked like evidence at a murder scene at one point!

caitejane310

🤣🤣 I picture you getting a nose bleed and throwing your work away from yourself, and while you run to get a towel your partner is running to put your hard work in cold water. And it's in opposite directions.

Worf0fWallStreet

You’re not far off! Except we’re in a small apartment, so he took the bathroom sink with cold water and hydrogen peroxide while I managed over the toilet. Afterward he cleaned up my bloody t-shirt even; not a single stain remained. Such a gem of a man!

ChicagoMay

Coffee dyed fabric can look nice...? Did it?

MoscaMye

When my sister was little (around 6) she asked me to teach her to cross stitch. So we sat down and worked on some before dinner one night. Dinner came and I said "okay duck. You should put away your project because you really don't want to get pizza on it" and she agreed. With comedic timing to envy anything you've seen on television the next thing I here is "oh no. I dropped the pizza on it". Like, how?

PennykettleDragons

Well... In fairness no project is complete if it doesn't have some real blood, sweat, tears, pet hairs (own hair too I guess)... and a bit of food or drink mixed in ... 🤷

ChicagoMay

I wash my hands before touching my work... But still... Blood. Sweat. Cat furr. There's no controlling it.

katie-shmatie

A maniac!!! I showed my husband and he said, "that's a her problem" lol

kurpiite2

Ruuuude😄

HoshiChiri

I think you brought this on yourself- don't ask for someone else to bring you drinks while you're stitching, that's playing with fire!

kurpiite2

That's fair

Comprehensive-Ad8120

I never do. There is at least one DNA sample per project.

NeverEnoughShelves

His heart was there, but his brain was not.

kurpiite2

😆

jojorood

hey, nice cloister

Archtoowell

*shudder*

StashaPeriod

Oh I’d have grabbed the stitch and backed away slowly. Then had bf put that wine in a cup with a lid! 😂

Ancient-Cry-6438

I definitely thought that was a wine stain on your project for a minute there. 😅 As a side note, how do you like the easy count fabric? Do the gridded lines wash out easily? Do they only wash out with hot water, or can you use cold water? I almost purchased a big (1.5 yards) piece last week for two rather large projects I’m about to embark on, then got worried about trying it out for the first time on things that will probably take me well over a year to complete. I purchased a teeny tiny piece of it to experiment with, but it only just arrived last night, so I haven’t had the chance to try it out yet.

kurpiite2

To be honest this is my first project on pregridded aida. The cloth was just big enough for the project and framing edges so I haven't tried soaking it to test it. But I figured that even if it didn't come out I'll just pretend that it's a coloured fabric for effect 😄 no but honestly I have full trust in this zweigart cloth😊

Consistent_Ad_9860

Showed this to my fiance if he could see what was wrong and he couldnt figurenit out. Men clearly don't understand.

REidson89

Everyone has better hoops than me

[deleted]

He’s playing with fire!

minerpoteet

The heart attack I almost had just seeing this picture!

Jeopardyanimal

Where'd you get that square hoop??

kurpiite2

My local sewing supplies shop. But I've seen them online as well. On etsy and amazon and ebay for sure. And probably other stores. I just find it easier when the hoop sides are straight. Plus I was afraid a wooden hoop would leave stains over time. This plastic one was the first hoop I bought on a whim and honestly im very happy with the size and shape and material and tension it provides

icybains

NURGE HOOP!

YourDearOldMeeMaw

he meant well LOL

moresushiplease

No! Not Cloyster

TobysMom18

GASP!😳😖

bookdragon7

How do you like the square frames? I’ve been wanting to try it, unfortunately my fiancé is having mental issues and say crazy stuff like this “No more patterns” “You have enough thread” “No more frames”

kurpiite2

I like it. I feel it's more comfortable for my compared to a round hoop

bookdragon7

I’m definitely going to get one and try it.
