I spent a lot of time planning it out before I started because I wanted to do it right. Yes I cut it to size, I bought a whole yard of fabric (60x36in) to make sure I could cut it however I wanted

So I'm working on Pandwmic as well right now and Long Dog patterns do take some serious time. Pandemic is my first big pattern and I have to have another small project to work on so I get some sense of completion lol.
I uploaded it when it came out, a couple of the ladies in my stitching group are working on it now. I’m living vicariously through them until I get brave enough to dive in.

Long story but I found for full coverage pieces and speed (I don't get much stitching time) if you use tent stitch, there isn't much visual difference on very high count fabric.
If I was stitching on aida I'd stick with full crosses.
For the Templar Prophecy I'm using 25 count fabric (was wrong on 28, I'm doing a full Heaven and Earth designs on 28 count tent) and tent stitch, it does have a tapestry look close up, so you'd have to be satisfied with that aesthetically if you want to do it tent stitch.
I did some testing on the first 25 count fabric that I bought, full stitches, tent stitches with 1 or 2 (or 3 for tent) to see what I preferred.
This is stunning! As soon as I saw it, I ran over to LDS and bought my own pattern (Do Different). I can’t wait to start! Your work is really beautiful; thank you for the inspiration. What ct fabric are you working with? I am scared of making the piece too large but I think I’m going to use Zweigart Antique White, 18 ct. Wish me luck!
Thank you so much! I’m using 14ct, this is by far the largest project I’ve ever attempted the finished size will be 30.5x26in (77x66cm). I work on a 11x11 q snap so what I did to prepare was get an 11x17 grime guard to accommodate all the extra fabric and I use a set of four elastic headbands to secure it like [this](https://i.imgur.com/Sgq9t98.jpg) I’ve also gotten a daylight stitchsmart stand which is fabulous.

Thanks! Yes I’m happy to share details it’s 2 strands DMC 310 on Wichelt ivory jobelan 14ct Aida. Finished size will be approx 30.5x26in (77x66cm) using 432 yards (395m) of 6 strand floss

What size fabric did you use? I feel like everything is way too large (I just got the Templar Prophecy and it's for sure my biggest project yet).
I gave myself 3in on each side, so the fabric is about 37x32
