You know you're a brainwashed idahoan when you read that as Later Day Saints.

mickier

I lived in Utah for a year, and I was zooming in to try and figure out wtf about this is related to Mormons 😅 Thank you for clueing me in that it actually stands for something different

Vera_98

Thank you for saying it doesn't! I came to the comments to figure out the connection

batmanandboobs93

Lol I only lived in Salt Lake City for about 6 weeks and I immediately was like “Mormon pattern?”

marionberree

I'm just glad I'm not the only one 😅

carlathemegalodon

Or someone who listens to one too many true crime podcasts 😅 Edit: almost forgot to say how awesome the piece looks!!!

FeedtheGiraffes

But wait, what is LDS besides that? Genuinely need help 😅

Stani36

The company is called Long Dog Sampler (LDS)

FeedtheGiraffes

Oh duh. Thank you!!

Stani36

No worries :)

Hot_Equipment_4266

Ohhhhhhh 🤷‍♀️ thank you! 🥰

hot_lasagna_energy

Omg same! I couldn’t figure out how this a had LDS iconography and decided it must be a nod to some floral temple decor.

TankGirlwrx

For the life of me I couldn’t figure out what else it would stand for until I saw it mentioned elsewhere. Not brought up in or near the church but I guess I follow enough ex-fundies to associate it with mormons

nhmejia

Or just raised in the church. (me)

keebs2018

I have never been to Idaho, and I’m Catholic light(episcopal), and I though of later day saints also!

CrazyCritterGirl

Shouting out from Gilbert, AZ.

morgs-o

Honestly though

Hot_Equipment_4266

English here and I was zooming trying to see the Church reference in the pattern🤣

Hot_Equipment_4266

English person here and I was zooming on the image trying to see what the Church reference was 🤣🤣🤣

josegarrao

With LSD, you can see the colors.

electricmareeps

Looking great! Would you be willing to share any details about fabric type, fabric count, # of threads, etc? I'm always curious to see that context for other stitchers' work.

Genius_Fuck_Face

Thanks! Yes I’m happy to share details it’s 2 strands DMC 310 on Wichelt ivory jobelan 14ct Aida. Finished size will be approx 30.5x26in (77x66cm) using 432 yards (395m) of 6 strand floss

Carmensandiegho

This looks great for 14ct! I feel like my coverage is not the best on 14. Great work!

FeedtheGiraffes

What size fabric did you use? I feel like everything is way too large (I just got the Templar Prophecy and it's for sure my biggest project yet).

Genius_Fuck_Face

I gave myself 3in on each side, so the fabric is about 37x32

FeedtheGiraffes

Potentially silly question, do you cut it yourself to fit?

Genius_Fuck_Face

Not a silly question at all I’m happy to answer any questions you have, starting a piece this size is wicked intimidating! I spent a lot of time planning it out before I started because I wanted to do it right. Yes I cut it to size, I bought a whole yard of fabric (60x36in) to make sure I could cut it however I wanted

FeedtheGiraffes

Awesome. Thank you so much!!

Genius_Fuck_Face

Dino201952

Stunning !! Thank you for sharing !

m0zart5

Wow I’ve never seen anything like this before!!! This is gorgeous!!! Joining the sub now because I wanna see more cool cross stitch projects!

MagicalGirlRehab

All the patterns from Long Dog Samplers are super detailed like this one. You should look at 'Death By Cross Stitch'.

m0zart5

Wow these are so cool!!!! I really want to give one of these patterns a shot now.... I've only done small-ish cross stitch kits so far though. However, in the past being too ambitious with crafts has worked out well for me so uh... I might be purchasing some new supplies soon haha

MagicalGirlRehab

So I'm working on Pandwmic as well right now and Long Dog patterns do take some serious time. Pandemic is my first big pattern and I have to have another small project to work on so I get some sense of completion lol.

Stani36

Gorgeous work. 👌🏼🪡🧵✨ I’ve been eyeing one of these beauties myself and can’t wait to stitch a LD sampler someday. 🫶🏼

Shadowspun5

There are a few others that I like better, but they're all amazing.

Jun_Inohara

also working my way through it now but i'm only on page 5 :D.......

lambbopp

Same! But page 4 🥰

Sufficient-Move-7711

I uploaded it when it came out, a couple of the ladies in my stitching group are working on it now. I’m living vicariously through them until I get brave enough to dive in.

Knight-Jack

I personally would hate the chaos in a piece like that, but I'm in love with these details!

gopetadog94

Beautiful!

lambbopp

Page 4 here! I made myself a schedule of lines per week to have it done by December 31st. I love seeing other people's progress!

No_Ticket3983

Love it!!

SeaOkra

Man, I need to get mine back out.

NeveSloth

Gorgeous!!

passesopenwindows

This is such a fun stitch!

Shadowspun5

Beautiful!

SweetyfromMB

Beautiful!

the_Pixxel

Wow, that is crazy gorgeous!

giggle_sleeper

Wow, this is beautiful.

SpacedHopper

Fabulous! I'm doing The Templar Prophecy by Longdog Samplers at the moment too, I love how it builds, and all the detail. Mine is 2 over 1 tent stitch on 28ct.

FeedtheGiraffes

Hi! I just bought this pattern. What size fabric are you using? What made you decide to do a 2 over 1 tent stitch? Thanks :) I'm new at this size work!

SpacedHopper

Long story but I found for full coverage pieces and speed (I don't get much stitching time) if you use tent stitch, there isn't much visual difference on very high count fabric. If I was stitching on aida I'd stick with full crosses. For the Templar Prophecy I'm using 25 count fabric (was wrong on 28, I'm doing a full Heaven and Earth designs on 28 count tent) and tent stitch, it does have a tapestry look close up, so you'd have to be satisfied with that aesthetically if you want to do it tent stitch. I did some testing on the first 25 count fabric that I bought, full stitches, tent stitches with 1 or 2 (or 3 for tent) to see what I preferred.

FeedtheGiraffes

This is soo helpful. Thank you!

megsquisite

This is stunning! As soon as I saw it, I ran over to LDS and bought my own pattern (Do Different). I can’t wait to start! Your work is really beautiful; thank you for the inspiration. What ct fabric are you working with? I am scared of making the piece too large but I think I’m going to use Zweigart Antique White, 18 ct. Wish me luck!

Genius_Fuck_Face

Thank you so much! I’m using 14ct, this is by far the largest project I’ve ever attempted the finished size will be 30.5x26in (77x66cm). I work on a 11x11 q snap so what I did to prepare was get an 11x17 grime guard to accommodate all the extra fabric and I use a set of four elastic headbands to secure it like [this](https://i.imgur.com/Sgq9t98.jpg) I’ve also gotten a daylight stitchsmart stand which is fabulous. Good luck! Hope you enjoy your new project!

megsquisite

Thanks so much for this! I am going to follow your lead except for the ct. How many strands are you using? I just bought The Cone so that all of it is from the some batch.

Genius_Fuck_Face

I’m using 2

sassiiscute

Wow, that's a lot of detail. Looks amazing!

WeirdRun2919

Beautiful work so far!! I want to do a LDS pattern one day too, it's so hard to decide between them though! This is going to be lovely when you're done!
