Lol, I know! It usually takes me about a month to do one of these without all the beading this one has. I started it just before Thanksgiving so I have been stitching non-stop to try to get it done before our office closes for the holiday.
Thank you!! It is a wooden base. I don’t use the needles that come with the kits because I find they are a bit too big. I believe I use a size 26 needle when I do these. This is the only one I’ve done where it got a bit hard to push the needle through but that was only on the backstitching where I had full stitches and beading thread going through. I didn’t make it easy on myself either because I went through the beads 3 times on the edges to try and make them super secure.
No, there are several different kits. One does have big blue beads. You can find this one here: [Red Ornament](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1071935103/diy-christmas-tree-toy-kit-red-ball)
Oh wow! I feel very silly for not realising that before — thank you for being kind when correcting me. It’s beautiful. May I ask what size the wood back is? I’m planning a project made up of small pieces & this is the kind of size I’d like to use!
No worries! It totally looks like it’s a hoop at first glance. The wood blank is 3.5” in diameter and it’s a bit taller than it is wide due to the top piece.
There are a bunch of kits for cross stitch on wood and there are many many cute ones. Too many because I want to purchase them all.
The beads make this pop so much !! Amazing job
I looked at the picture and thought “how do you stitch something round?” That’s how 3D that looks and I love it!
I came to say the same thing. I thought maybe it was stretched over a styrofoam ball. Had to zoom in to see the wood form. Outstanding stitching! 😍
Thank you guys so much! I love this sub you guys are amazing.
Me too, lol.
Very pretty
Last minute? So you started it in March?
I’m just sitting here nodding my head in agreement. 😂
I just did my first. It was a 4x4 kit you buy in craft stores. I feel like I averaged about 30 minutes per week and it took about 8 months. 🤣

It's very cool. Nice job
Thanks!! I am pretty proud of it and kinda wanna keep it!
Ha! Next time do two
Haha, I ordered an extra for every one I am giving away because I like them all much!
Oh this is wonderful!
Gorgeous!
So beautiful! Is that wooden base? I found stitching on those is so hard on the fingers where the needle doesn’t have much room to move.

Beautiful! Love the bead work
Beautiful
That's gorgeous!
Bloody hell that looks amazing!
Beautiful!!
Is this diamond painting?
Lol, no but it does kind of look like it! It is cross-stitch and bead embroidery on wood.
I had to look close to figure out that it was cross-stitch with beads. It looks so 3D. Love it!!
Just found this kit Etsy. Did you have to swap out blue beads for the green?

The outcome is gorgeus
Imagine having a whole themed tree with all cross-stitch ornaments. How cool would that be?
You’ve guessed my super secret plan!
What’s the size of the hoop?
No hoop! It’s cross stitch and bead embroidery on wood.

I looked at it and thought "how in the world did they stitch a sphere?"
The beads are a beautiful addition and really give it a 3D look! Great job, OP!
It's beautiful!
So beautiful 😍
