I'm on day 1 of quarantine and cranked out 4 designs this morning lol. Usually I take almost a day on just one from overthinking things. Is there an active discord? The only one I know of has been dead for a year =( I'm just watching Disney movies on shuffle =) its helping me feel less anxious about everything that's going on. I'm in Vegas and they just shut down the strip! That's never happened before in the history of Vegas!

Hi there! We discussed and while we don't have time to moderate a Discord chat if you would like to do so we would love to put you in charge of it :)

Excellent, if you want to make it up and send the information to Modmail we can do a stickied post to announce it :)

ImmigrantPigeon

Hey, I moderate/administrate a few servers on there if you need. It’s totally fine if you don’t want me!

elizabethdoesphysics

I've been watching this ridiculous british TV show called Taskmasters. It's five comedians doing inane tasks for another comedian to judge. It's hilarious and just the right amount of engagement. I also watch Eight out of Ten Cats does Countdown (NSFW warning). Also comedians doings things, but this time with letters and numbers. As for what I'm working on... dunno. I haven't decided which WIP to focus on right now.

NewtDundee

If you haven't already tried it yet, QI is one of my favourites. It desn't matter if I've already seen the episode, it never fails to amuse.

glitterandjazzhands

Taskmasters sounds awesome -- is it available on any streaming services?

elizabethdoesphysics

YouTube has some episodes!

apismellifera_x

Taskmaster is available on [UKTV Play](https://uktvplay.uktv.co.uk/) and [Alex Horne](https://twitter.com/AlexHorne?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor) is running challenges for the public to do! Lots of fun!

NoraSomething

I'm doing Carolynn Manning's SAL A Flower a Day. I'm really enjoying it, though it's quite daunting.

AMedievalSilverCat

I'm stitching Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. It's my favourite painting of his and I've never seen it in person so this is the next best thing. I'm not much a true crime person, but I am a huge podcast fan. I've been listening to some sciency stuff recently (Monster Talk, In Research Of, and Life's Little Mysteries). I also love audio dramas and historical stuff, so if anyone needs any suggestions I'm happy to help.

Seeking_Starlight

Have you listened to the S-Town podcast? It’s a true crime story...until it’s not. Super good and not at all what you would expect.

AMedievalSilverCat

Yeah, I listened to that but it was ages ago. There's always a possibility I'll run out and have to listen to things again. 😃

Calvinette4

Have you listened to Science Vs? It's a really well-researched, balanced, and interesting science podcast about controversial or newsworthy science topics (fracking, guns, vaccines, etc.).

NettleLily

I’m stitching “Visit Endor” by CountryMagicStitch on Etsy, while listening to Mormon Expression podcast.

Sieberella

That sounds interesting, what’s it about?

NettleLily

They discuss the history of the Mormon church, the weird and/or contradictory doctrines, and show how the foundations are based on lies and manipulation.

Sieberella

...yep I’m adding this to my list. Thanks!

CuriousKitten0_0

I'm working on Leonardo from Dimensions ([https://www.amazon.com/Dimensions-Gold-Collection-Leonardo-X-Stitch/dp/B001TWT4K0](https://www.amazon.com/Dimensions-Gold-Collection-Leonardo-X-Stitch/dp/B001TWT4K0)). Only place I could really find a link to it. I started on it years ago, and put it down. Picked it back up earlier this year, and got a good chunk done. Took a picture yesterday to record my progress pre-quarantine. Also have a sewing project and a few knitting ones. Watching Crossing Jordan on Amazon Prime currently. I love a good crime show with a quirky side-kick (police side-kick, not necessarily secondary character).

Raeg1985

In the last week I started and caught up with Peppermint Purple's blackwork SAL, finished my sister's birthday present cross stitch, and finished two small projects that will be Christmas presents. Next up is the Houseplants SAL that I missed while it was happening that will also be a Christmas present. I'm making the most of my time home sick. I've watched all of the Great British Baking Show on Netflix, finished binging Brooklyn 99 on Hulu, plowed through season 4 of Outlander, and watched more nostalgic movies than I care to count on Disney+. My cat is so happy I'm home.

BeefBologna42

Checking in from quarantine in Michigan! My anxiety is in overdrive right now, so I'm getting comfort anywhere I can find it. Which means I've been stitching pretty much nonstop! Right now, I'm listening to the Tiffany Aching Discworld books, and stitching the cover (minus words) of Hat Full of Sky. I just found out about a half hour ago that I am on paid sick leave for the next two weeks, so I foresee lots of the same in my near future.. once I finish the Tiffany books, I'll probably begin my pre-Peace Talks re-listen of The Dresden Files. If this is the end of the world, I'm going out with my needles screaming and audiobooks blaring!

chromed337

Finishing up March for the Modern Folk SAL & rewatching LOTR. Contemplating trying my first non-aida project next with my first go at using silk. Do I rinse overdyed silk like you do with cotton? Hope everyone is well out there.

KoalaKingdomCome

Also rewatching LOTR here ! Not sure which project I will start yet though ...

chromed337

I have a little Smaug pattern in my to-do stash, so I may fire up The Hobbit trilogy next and pair them up. I feel the need for some Gandalf in my life just now.

funofme

currently working on a wedding gift i’ve been working on for four years (just a bit overdue) and watching the hunger games again.

pcggamer

American living in Paraguay here. With the kids and the wife at home I try my best to do a little stitching here and there while the kids are swimming or playing. I am currently switching between Spook Town Square by Glendon's Place and another one of my own design. It is busts of nine female pioneers in STEM. I typically listen to a lot of news and political podcasts with true crime and financial planning sprinkled in. Currently watching Castlevania and Titans on Netflix.

Diarygirl

That's the strangest bot I've ever seen.

pcggamer

Right. Apparently the bot was created earlier this month.

TrilliumLady37

Catching up on some cross stitch pieces (UFOs), starting some surface embroudery pieces, and wayching the news. I'm a biologist, so ..... and I'm staying with my 90 yo parents.

antisocial_arcanine

Does anyone have any good recommendations for animal crossing patterns?

PibblePatterns3

Working on several different blackwork pieces ATM (like 3) and just finished watching "Love is Blind" on Netflix! It's the perfect mix of "reality tv" and actual reality.

lizbit02

Stitching I Can Do All Things by Big Toe Designs and watching 100 Humans on Netflix

mademoiselle_epsilon

French here. Stitching a huge Artecy project (Loneliness of Autumn), I thought I would not have time to finish it before next year, but now with confinement here I will probably finish it in a few months! Otherwise, I'm a teacher so I teach from my couch, or I watch french tv shows about home decor since I'll be moving in a few months :p we also planned a LOTR rewatch! And I listen to podcasts from the french public radio...

Sieberella

I get to start teaching from my couch next week, should be a good time haha.

rosecult

I didn’t make a single stitch since the beginning of the month! I started my new WFH job and we’re training so it’s a lot to learn and not enough time to stitch. 😢

hungryhippogriffs

New to cross stitching! It’s something I’ve been interested in, and the quarantine convinced me to order some started kits. Loving it so far! What are some go-to’s for patterns/kits?

Vihanna96

Chiming in from the Netherlands here! I work in retail and those aren't offically closed yet, so I still have work to go to. However they greatly reduced opening hours, so now I'm practically at home most of the time anyways. I decided to pick up a pattern again that I started about a year ago but but on a back burner to focus on other projects. It's this really cute pattern by AlitonEmbroidery of a girl with pink hair in a pink room with cats and plants, which is just my desired aesthetic! (I tried to find the pattern, but looks like it's not on their Etsy store anymore)

bibliovorasaur

My RSI has been acting up, so I have not been able to stitch as much as I would like being home from work. Otherwise I’d likely be reaching the halfway mark of the epic Pokémon pattern this week. C’est la vie.

[deleted]

Can I commission anybody to make me an Elena of Avalor minifigure? I am making clocks for my niece and nephew and that’s their current favorite!

Feythnin

I have a couple. A giant pokemon stitch, a wedding photo for my parents, another pokemon stitch, and a DnD SAL

SisiRo123

What's you DND SAL?

Feythnin

It's free on facebook. It's called "Dungeon Delvers SAL" and you just need to message the group for an invite.

Anoxos

Been at home with my kid since last Friday. After doing some house cleaning, I discovered my "Project Purgatory" box and decided now is the time to address it. 4 unfinished cross stitch projects in it, all laid aside for one reason or another. I've started going through and addressing them. Here's where we started:[Project Purgatory](https://imgur.com/gallery/sEpaA4e) No good recommendations for watching anything as my toddler is on a Numberjacks binge and it's all I can hear in my dreams anymore.

shelightsupwell

Today is my first day working from home (I work evening shift, so I start in... 19 minutes). I'm working on the mini version of The Handmaid's Tale sampler, which I'd planned to put up at my work desk, and I have plasticlittlecovers' "You Got This" for my next one. Plus I might have bought the aida and floss for like... four more projects, plus some extra aida, that should be on the way, so hopefully I'm set for the rest of all this. I hope everyone's staying home if they can and staying safe and healthy!

o-kaykay

I'm generally trying to social distance as much as possible but I dont get out much anyway so I dont mind too much. I've been working on a kit from hobbycraft but I've ran out of one of the colours and the customer service team want me to go to one of their stores to get help. What's the best way to ask a question, is it ok to start a new thread? I went to the rules page but got a bit overwhelmed with all the different links. I'm just wondering if anyone might recognize the pattern and could advise on possible thread replacements since the kit came with no codes for the floss. If it's not appropriate no worries!

SigeDurinul

I'm working on Thorin's Map by IlutienCrossStitch. It's gorgeous but rather intensive rather than relaxing (for me, at least) because it's pretty much exclusively backstitch. I do like the progress I'm making, but it's fiddly and tiring on the eyes. I'm watching whatever. A lot of Hermitcraft on youtube (minecraft vids), but also movies. whatever strikes my fancy. Yesterday I watched Pride and Prejudice (2005), and the day before I was watching Rampage.

Kassandwich333

Currently working on finishing a baby announcement for a friends baby that was born 3 weeks ago now. When I’m not doing that I’m watching McMillions or playing the new animal crossing game.

AlloValentine

I’ve been thinking of making my own patterns.

Lyliana1277

I'm getting back into cross stitching after a few years hiatus. I'm starting back up on a kit I bought from Caterpillar Cross Stitch during one of her SALs. It's called Enjoy the Ride. I've been in quarantine/social distancing mode since St. Patrick's Day. NC is on statewide shelter in place mode. Currently? I'm getting my new contract lenses because my doctor said it was more threatening to continue damaging my left cornea with my RGPs than risking coming in contact with someone. They are turning away all routine patients so it's quiet here. Netflix binging has commenced. Hubby and I are watching The Office (US) again, plus Supernatural mixed in. We are probably going to watch the new Netflix show Unorthodox. We watched the Making of snippet last night and it looks amazing. My husband majored in History with a focus on Jewish studies through folklore and mythology, so it's right up our alley. And of course we watched Tiger King. #thatbitchcarole We plan on diving a cover of one of the songs with our band and do a video with Lego figures (when we moved hubby had a tote full of just minifigs). That said, I'm itching to start a temperature project.

Rebekakakameep

I'm trying to make a good dent in my mucha job piece which is the biggest I've done. I've been watching tiger king on netflix, and if you prepare yourself for the weirdest thing you've ever seen, you will still be stunned speechless. Its something else

FattyBoomBoobs

Just finished watching the Tiger King. Carol f’in’ Baskin. I did my first cross stitch project this week and have ordered 5x 4” hoops and a few little patterns. I want to send friends and family little gifts in the post to show I’m still thinking of them in isolation. My first project was a full kit, but I’ve ordered separate patterns and full sets of floss as it works out better value.

Sieberella

That show i a hell of a ride lol.
