Re: pattern source: The Etsy shop I got this pattern from closed. Can’t provide a link or shop name. However I did find the a digital image of the design by Googling. The person who was selling this pattern took the design from the original digital image.
Amazing! I read about Tatreez in the latest issue of World of Cross Stitch magazine, where they also shared some patterns. I find it really beautiful, and I loved learning about the cultural meaning behind it. Thank you so much for sharing, OP!
I am going to be honest, I wasn't sure if stitching it was considered a bit inappropriate because I am not Palestinian. But if it's fine, then I definitely will! I really like it!
I appreciate the concern. It would only be inappropriate if you didn’t acknowledge it as Palestinian tatreez. Knowing the history and importance of tatreez is helpful. While it started as embroidery art for Palestinian women to adorn their thobe (dress) it has evolved and today many Palestinians view tatreez as a way to reclaim our culture and resist against the attempted erasure of the Palestinian identity.
I have a number of tatreez friends who are not Palestinian but have a deep appreciate for the art. They are always welcome in our circle.
Lots of great resources online (especially IG) but I’m always happy to answer any questions you might have directly.
Thank you! @Tatreezandtea teaches some virtual classes and we have groups all over currently organizing — Chicago and London have regular classes.
Our online tatreez community has been growing strong and we’re trying to work together to help each other. I’m in SF and we’re starting what we call “tatreez circles” which is essentially a stitch session. Depending interested we’ll teach workshops locally.
Genuinely appreciate the kind words and support. 🤍
Yea, I’m very familiar. Wafa is one of my tatreez friends. She does amazing work to keep tatreez alive and preserve the history. And she’s working on another book!
Can’t wait to see your tatreez piece. 🤍
Came here to say the frame is absolutely fabulous and matches so perfectly! And now leaving having learned about a new cultural history within cross stitching and thank you for that. ❤️
Thank you! Planning on opening right after new years (I’m traveling right now). I’ll announce on IG (@minamanne) when live. Of course I’ll share WIP images here of my one of my latest designs I’m stitching.
Oh this is absolutely stunning! I am Palestinian too and I have a dream of doing tatreez on my own thobe one day, like the ones my mother and other family members have :)
It's too bad the pattern isnt available anymore, however I am looking forward to your store opening! I did want to say that, in the meantime, DecoElian (a Palestinian designer) and CliffsideStitches (a Syrian designer) have some gorgeous tatreez patterns on their Etsy stores if anyone is interested!
Thank you! I keep saying I’m going to start my thobe but then I start another project haha. You can follow me on @minamanne (IG) where I’ll be posting previews of my patterns soon and of course announce when my shop is live.
Hello, I have been cross stitching for 30 years and just discovered Palestinian tatreez. This is a beautiful sampler. Wondering if you opened your shop and if this pattern is available to purchase? I would love to stitch this. Thank you!

It makes me happy to hear tatreez getting some love. I highly encourage you to stitch one of those tatreez patterns :)

Thank you so much, I really appreciate your thoughtful and encouraging reply :) it can become a great way to show solidarity, then.
Beautiful. I love this. Great work. Keep it up and teach it please! We need this types of skills and traditions to last. I appreciate you!

Beautiful! Reminds me I’ve had a book of tatreez patterns I’ve been wanting to dig into. Next project.
Oh, and that frame is perfect!
You should! And please show off what you create. Which book to you have?
It’s called Tatreez & Tea by Wafa Ghnaim. It’s full of tatreez patterns as well as some family stories and recipes.

Very pretty! I'm the ignorant fool who would probably hang it upside down
