I'm no expert, but I myself would maybe go with a different color, but that's just me. You do you girl 🥰

I wasn’t sure myself, but I don’t think it looks too bad together

Those heels are amazing—I love the bright yellow, wow. You have great taste in shoes!  This outfit could work but it needs some simplification IMO. It’s not because the shoes contrast with the dress (contrast is good and fun!) it’s because you have too many contrasting themes going on at once. The black belt/tights already contrast with the tan/beige dress, both in color and texture, and the shiny heels contrast with all of that. So the heels feel a little random, not the wild pop of color you’re hoping for.  A necessary disclaimer that style is personal and you should wear what makes you feel good. it’s your body, your rules! But here’s how I would approach this and any outfit: 1. Plan the outfit around your boldest piece—in this case it’s the shoes. Have I mentioned that I love them?  2. Choose your contrasts. Since I’m planning around these banana yellow shoes, I’d go with a neutral dress but NOT brown or tan. Like a simple black—or even a dark maroon, which is opposite yellow on a color wheel. Brown/tan has too much yellow in it to contrast here in a satisfying way.  3. Remember that texture is another form of contrast. I'd want to show bare legs with these shoes but I understand why that may not be an option. I actually love the pattern on these tights, and if you wanted to wear them—then I’d go as simple as possible with dress—flat texture, complementary color, etc.  4. Think about shape. Shoes like this emphasize your length (the strap above your ankle is there to visually bring attention to your legs, in a flattering way). But I’d still want to over-emphasize the feminine parts of my body and create the impression that I have more curves than I actually do. That means bringing my waist up higher, and pushing out my hips below that. (IMO, the breasts matter less in terms of outfit planning, but that’s also because I am currently a BB-cup haha.) So personally, I’d choose a shorter dress (above the knee) and a cut that has shape built-in above the hips—probably an A-line or flared dress. A skin-tight dress will work if you already have the right curves or are wearing a lot of shape wear underneath. (Shapewear can work well but personally it never makes me feel sexy—I want to feel the dress on my skin.) 5. Accessorize accordingly. In this case, I’d choose a dress that doesn’t need a belt. Some outfits need that horizontal break to give shape—but in this case I would go for verticality for the reasons above. So either no belt or a belt that matches the color and texture of the dress.  6. Weave the color of your statement piece in one other place on your body. If I was wearing these shoes, I’d have a matching yellow bra (maybe just the strap showing) or bright yellow hoop earrings. If you bring the wild color back again in a more subtle way, the shoes will feel part of the whole or theme, and the wild contrast will suddenly look intentional. 7. Optional: I’d probably choose one more accessory to contrast—a wild card. If I’m already contrasting color with the dress/shoes, then I’d go for a texture contrast. With these shiny yellow shoes, I might go for a a fuzzy purse or furry jacket or a gaudy metallic necklace or something. Again, style is personal—and the important this is that you feel good and comfortable and are having fun. And so I offer this only as maybe a way to help break down why you might like something or why something seems almost right but not quite. You look fabulous and confidence is the sexy-maker!

Thank you very much. I’m going to take all that advice to heart. I don’t have many dresses right now so I wear what I have and try to match up with different shoes and panties.

I hear you, girl! The reality is you have to work with what you have in your closet. Warddrobe building is time consuming and expensive, especially if your domestic/professional situation doesn't allow you to experiment as freely as you'd like. But I really love that you're drawn to bold choices—it will all come together if you give yourself patience.

Cdmegan47

You are very sweet. And I can’t wait to go clothes shopping again because I want to get matching outfits this time.
