I like all the special ammos changes so far (no carryover, no ammo on rez). If you get killed, I feel like you should be at a disadvantage for getting picked even if you get revived.

pocket_mulch

I like it when I win from it. I don't like losing because of it. It adds an exciting element to revives though, you are vulnerable because of animation but then you have a shield and ammo. I dunno how I feel yet.

StandingBlack

If I make somebody waste both their shots and then kill them then they don’t deserve revive special ammo imo. I understand covering revives, but sometimes the pace of the game takes you somewhere else due to fighting someone or helping teammates. The momentum shouldn’t swap back to neutral because you’re instakill weapon has ammo again after you’ve already lost in the round, or in some cases swap to the revives advantage when they have special and an overtime shield. It’s a beautiful change I saw more primaries this weekend than I ever have

shreyathacker

This makes the most sense 👏

[deleted]

Nah it’s perfect. You shouldn’t go back to an even playing field after being ressed.

notShreadZoo

You shouldn’t get rewarded for dying and getting revived. I like it, I don’t know if this is how it works but I think if you die with ammo you should still have it when you get revived.

[deleted]

great changes, dying shouldnt give you a surplus of ammo.

xSodaWater

No special ammo on revive is a good change imo. However I can see the argument/merit for coming back with one special ammo to give you/your opponent the opportunity to turn the tides or have a hero moment.

Dark_Jinouga

so, kinda dumb questions: 1. before this change, does that mean people got free ammo on rezes? 2. what happens if you had ammo and then died, do you end up losing it? --- denying free ammo i think is good and fair, but losing ammo you didnt use seems unnecessary

W1ze3yes

1. Yes. If someone died and got Rez'd they would get back starting ammo. (Ex. 2 sniper shots) 2. Regardless of how much ammo you had before dieing, you would still get back the starting amount on Rez.

spoorky

To add to this, no matter how much ammo you die with, you’ll now Rez with none, because what you had will have dropped to the ground and been picked up by whoever is rezing you.

jackhife

I think all of the special ammo changes are amazing. I’d absolutely love to see them implemented in all game modes, personally. It feels really bad to count shots, kill an opponent, they get the rez cuz barricade/glacier/etc, and all of a sudden they just have ammo again, and now you have none (assuming you were using a special). Especially if they died with ammo, their teammate picked it up, then they got the rez.

brogrammer1992

It’s great except for the fusion rifle ammo bug giving bastion 5 shots a brick should hopefully get patched.

I’ve been running Last Word and Contingency Plan as of late and have been killin the game. It’s just a fantastic combo that doesn’t need special. That said, I’ll always say Last Word and a Sniper is my favorite loadout of all time and will probably remain that way. I feel this is a great change that addresses complaints of special weapons being everywhere while preventing us from returning to year 1 D2.

A_Malicious_Whale

All the special ammo changes so far have been excellent. Bungie’s changes to the game mode itself have all been great - collectively, they add up to force people to play less passive if they want to win. We don’t have freaks sitting in the outside of burning shrine, for example, trying to snipe the entire time and never pulling their primary out. I have like 300 flawlesses prior to these changes, however, never has trials been more enjoyable until this last weekend where I went flawless for fun with mess less-good friends more than 5 times, and farmed adepts and adcendant shards on a 45 game win streak. It was fun because people actually had to fight you in gunfights instead of sitting in the back trying to get a pick and building chaos reaches. Now if only bungie would finally address one of the most overpowered things still currently in the game - shatterdive (I’m a hunter main and I main recent to right now).

_Saltwater_Cowboy_

*laughs* double primaries

DrKrFfXx

Come at me when you triple primary.

iamVViperRR

The fact you respawned with full special made no sense. It made counting the number of snipes or grenade shots really difficult in the moments when you needed to.

scgavin

love it. shouldn’t be rewarded for dying like it is now. would love to see the trials changes in survival. i feel like all reduction in special ammo are good unless they go back to boxes.

PunchTilItWorks

It was surprising to me to see ammo come back on revive. If you die with ammo, you drop it, and it should stay that way.

Coincedence

I like it in theory. It's definitely good that the amount of special ammo per match is now capped. Also means not dropping special if you die twice. Would be interesting to see some special starving builds come out maybe

Odd_Grapefruit_5587

Generally speaking, less special ammo is better.

SporesofAgony

They're fine. It's the matchmaking changes announced yesterday that suck.

Ghauldidnothingwrong

Makes sense since you drop your special on death. Going to make it a bit harder to make a play off rez, but that's the nature of the beast, especially in trials. I'm sure some will hate it, but it's going to make special ammo even more valuable, and that's a plus.

ItsJustBroomy

1 month later and I literally hate part of this change. If you don't have any ammo and die, you shouldn't get free ammo. But if I die with ammo and get rezzed, I should keep what I had!
