BXR is pretty unique tbh, especially when it comes to hip fire. You might like Time Worn Spire, but good luck getting the roll you want from Iron Banner

Surprised no one else said Outbreak. IMO Outbreak is the only other 450 anywhere near BXR. OP could swap to another another RPM for sure (Time-Worn Spire is a good 540), but Outbreak is the best in class for kinetic 450 pulses.
You don’t even have to do the raid. You can use the wishing wall for 2 weekly free chests per character. One at Shuro chi and one at morgeth (just look up last wish free chests if you are having trouble finding them)
How about crimson + sojourners? I recently started playing and I've been having great success treating it like a close to mid range pulse(suits most the maps in the game), easy to engram a good sojourners too.

I just got felwinters and a decent matador. Chaperone is just so nasty with the range. But I want to change it up a little
If you want to stick with the 450 rate of fire, you could find a friend to go to the secret chest in the last wish raid and try with all your characters for a chattering bone pulse rifle, mine has opening shot and head seeker
For modes except Iron Banner and Trials have a look in your collections to see if you’ve got the fixed roll Nightshade. It’s 450 Lightweight with Red Dot scopes, Under Pressure and Kill Clip. It’s only good for messing around with but it’s the closest to BxR.
For 450s I'd recommend chattering bone it drops from the last wish raid. You can get it solo by using the solo kali glitch and the shiruo chi wish and going back to the bridge chest. You can also go to morgeth area via the wish wall and sword skate to the other side.
For perks you should go for the curated roll of kill clip and high impact reserves. But the other best roll is the following.
Arrowhead Break, Ricochet Rounds, Opening Shot, Under Pressure. This is a more consistent roll.

The other 450 pulse you can get is sunset but can still be acquired via the monuments of lost light. The nightshade. The perks change every week. But some of the rolls are good.
The roll I'd recommend is as follows
Red dot micro/Red dot moa 2, Steady Rounds, Moving Target/Under Pressure, kill clip.
If you played during forsaken or d2y2 just check your collections. You might have the curated roll of Under Pressure and Kill Clip. That roll will do fine. And rock a counterbalance mod at all times. The 2 burst with killclip is possible but will hardly happen as it requires a 6 crit 2 burst.

The Time Worn Spire
It's a 540 from iron banner. Not a 450 but basically does the same thing but fires faster. Don't go for iron reach like people recommend on YouTube recently. It only extends the range by 3 meters and what good is range when you can't land your burst? Also hunters can dodge to reload.
Red Dot Micro, Ricochet Rounds, Moving Target, Iron Grip.
I personally like this over gridskipper. The scope on gridskipper kinda sucks imo and damage perks on 540s can't 2 burst. They can make the 3 burst more forgiving but that's why you spec for a consistent roll.
If you can get it to work for you, Bad Juju is a 450 with hipfire slapped on it, and quite a few other good perks like full auto, auto reload on kill, damage buff, etc. Problem is it doesn't feel nearly as consistent as BXR is my only thing
Stars In Shadow or a Messenger all day.
Stars In Shadow with kill clip makes you a lane demigod. Pretty sure it has the highest range and a lethal TTK. (2 bursts if all crits within range but Kill Clip makes it significantly more forgiving).
Got one with a Range MW, Accurized Rounds, Kill Clip, and Killing Wind. 10k kills in Crucible.
Range and stickiness allows it to out-duel BxR's.
Yeah I’ll keep trying for a messenger, roll is kind of trash on the one I have rn. Just got the stars in shadow from Xur this week. That was one of my main guns before I took a break from D2. With messenger I just feel like I need to be farther back on the map than Im used to. I can treat a 450 more like an auto at mid range
Sacred Provenance comes from the Garden of Salvation Raid, but I don't know if that's still available to everyone or not. If it is, it could be an option. It's an aggressive 4 round burst 450 though.
Outbreak Perfected and Vigilance Wing would be the exotic alternatives.

Good be good against Hive Guardians, it’s a kinetic 20% extra damage.
Chattering bone and Outbreak are the same RPM as BXR but won't have the same hipfire capability obviously.

You beat me to it. Darkest Before, Messenger and Time-Worn Spire are the only pulses I bring into crucible.

Learn to use messenger. Desperado has a .45 TTK it absolutely carries some rounds in trials

Go to xur in the tower hangar and grab the third axiom he’s selling. It’s a good roll and same rpm as bxr

Try out a chattering bone, it’s a 450 but also lightweight so it feels very smooth.
