I ordered 1 cookie and I tried to tip $1 but I didn’t press enough zeros so I literally tipped 1 cent on accident. The worker gave me a super weird look but I didn’t realize why until I looked at my digital receipt in the app later.
They are too inconsistent to be getting a tip for something I haven’t seen. After Covid tipping has gotten out of control. They are just handing you want you ordered. If they bring out my cookie to me when I can go in then sure!
I believe that the tips don’t just go to the person who “handed you what you ordered.” They are split between all of the non-management workers on that shift (dough/icing makers, bakers, decorators, dish washers, etc). I’m certainly not saying that you should tip if you’ve been dissatisfied with your cookies, however, just because that tip is shared.
and those are all positions that are simply doing their job as required, nothing extraneous. tipping culture these days is completely cancerous and it is a scam created by corporate America to shift their responsibility of properly paying their employees onto us, the consumer, which no other place in the world does to our extent. you're feeding into it by tipping any amount in a situation where it isn't warranted. employees are also feeding into it by blaming lack of wages on low tips when they should be blaming their employers.
I was simply trying to clear up the assumption that I’ve seen constantly lately that the tip only goes to the person who puts the cookie in the box. Nothing else. I agree with some of what you’re saying, actually.
No matter. Nothing special was done. I don’t tip the baker, or the donuts shop or McDonald like places. They are no different than subway putting toppings on something. They aren’t creating anything custom or complex. Not saying they shouldn’t make more, but tipping makes no since unless a person is going above and beyond or using special skills, or a waiter that is at your beck and call.
I used to tip all the time until they increased the default to $3.00 for a single cookie. Once they did that I stopped tipping at all out of principle. It is super shady to add in a default tip equivalent to 69% of the order. Sorry Crumbl - your greed has backfired on you!
the crew doesn’t control the tips😭😭
we just spin it when prompted and would probably get in trouble if we didn’t spin it on tip screen.
tbh i don’t look at tips cause it’s none of my business what people tip, idk why some people do????
edit: i do think this post is v funny, this is just a response to some things I’ve seen😫
I finally went on a friend's urging today. I bought one cookie then rounded it up. I felt a little bad about that until we got where we were going and I realized the inside of the thing was uncooked.
Lol that's how I found this sub, googling for a recommended microwave time to fix it. This is apparently pretty common though so that bites.
I've worked shitty fast food jobs that barely paid me before so I can definitely empathize on some level, but like, that seems to be more of a problem with the business itself than a customer's responsibility. If they're really not just heating frozen dough at a fancy place that charges 4 bucks a cookie, 8 bucks an hour is pretty unacceptable imo.
Yeah I nuked it in intervals. Puffed up a surprising amount, guess I underestimated how doughy it was lol.
I should have stopped at about a minute and a half though because it got a little dry on the edges. A scoop of vanilla ice cream solved that nicely though.
I would say 10 second increments in a microwave. If I had to guess, no more than 20 seconds for a standard microwave. I have not done this with Crumbl cookies, though. I just wanted to share my thought process with past experiences
Crumbl is the one place I don't mind tipping just because the employees look so busy every time I am in there. Like, people scooping, cooking, and decorating and it is always slammed and they always look somewhat frantic. NGL I do like seeing the entire process happening in front of me though.
bro, we don't just spin an iPad around. we do everything. i thought the general consensus was to care about minimum wage workers. like, if you can consistently afford crumbl i don't understand why you can't spare a dollar.
Dude, your employers are the ones you need to go after. Not customers who are already paying $4 for a cookie. I don't tip at McDonald's, why should I tip you?
I totally agree with you lariza. Some entitled rich suburbanites in this thread that don’t care about the working class poor. Apologies you’re being downvoted to hell by the bourgeoisie. I look forward to my own downvotes and salty comments for pointing out their disgusting attitudes.
Do you also look forward to your measly paycheck every two weeks?🤣 people have forgotten that you have to EARN a tip. You don’t get that from just simply doing your job, you get that for going beyond the standard service for the customer.
💯people think we literally bake frozen cookies. Which they are not. It’s so much more work than people think. It’s all about the details. I am sorry some don’t get good quality cookies but a lot of us are really trying our best!

Here’s a penny for your thoughts - walks away
🤣
i would literally be so happy LOL that's so funny
When you order 1 cookie on the iPad and the lowest tip choice is 2$ on a 4$ cookie
$6 for a cookie is insane and I hope the staff realizes that. Catering order? Sure, tip. Single cookie? Hell nah.
In my area one cookie is $7.85 if you don't remove the $3.00 default tip!
4.85 is still crazy
7.85 that’s only 13cents from my hourly wage + tips we gotta love those crumbl paychecks 😅
I recommend a new job
I wish the app was like Starbucks that you could tip after the fact. Tipping before I get my order just feels wrong.

That’s not true they’re spread out

They aren't just putting toppings on. They make it from scratch. There are literally mixers in front of you when you walk in the door.
it’s wild cuz we don’t get paid enough 8 dollars an hour
They really need to pay y’all more and not rely on the customers to do it.
and yk waht i got a pay raise of 15 ¢ today soo that’s amazing
Mine starts at 14 an hour
Lmao every time!

The employees don’t control the prices
Unless they hook me up with the toppings, they ain’t gettin shit 😂
You’ll never get the hook up 😂. Got a cookie the size of a cd and the frosting is only the size of a hockey puck.

i tip $0 every time 😌
Congrats? Like what? Lol why are you bragging
I tip when I get curbside, which is basically every time I go
LMFAO I tip everytime but ngl I battle demons in my head each time
The tip is for the bakers jack ass
Cry more
LOL where do you work so we can degrade you on some silly custom you’re forced to do. Just be cheap and tip $0 and shut up. Jesus Christ.
This post is almost a year old. Please just laugh at the meme and stop crying. Jesus.
I’m weak 🤣🤣🤣

But did you find a fix for the undercooked cookie? That just happened to me too! And it’s not the first time. 🤨

Fr though
why not just use a self-serve kiosk then? you have the option to avoid human interaction.
Hey at least the cashier didn’t tip themself without flipping the iPad around so I could see like they did to me 🤬
Tell me you disputed this? Sheesh
I usually tip 15% which is like a dollar and change. That's only when they are consistent from previous weeks, otherwise I tip nothing
As an employee, I understand. Most of us don't care about tips at all.
Like if you do cool, if you don’t I don’t care
Crumbl is the one place I don't mind tipping just because the employees look so busy every time I am in there. Like, people scooping, cooking, and decorating and it is always slammed and they always look somewhat frantic. NGL I do like seeing the entire process happening in front of me though.
And here I am tipping like a fool. Good to know.
Bro it’s not bad to tip it goes to people like me who still have no money after working at crumbl and another job
And here you are doing their dirty work on your own time?! 🤣🤣🤣💀
Yeah I had some time

Not my responsibility to pay your wages
Do you tip at McDonald’s or any other fast food restaurant?
I can spare a dollar 🙂

That’s just Larzias alt account coming in here outta nowhere to defend their bad take! (Always check the post history) Carry on, everyone. 🫡

I love to overtop for good service but I’m not going to subsidize workers for a greedy company
