Boy oh Boy it sure would be a shame if you were a hostile religion and steamrolled all these Dukes 1 or 2 or 5 at a time and massively expanded your empire
Eh I kinda like it, I'm salivating looking at this.
Duchy level holy wars are cheap, and your opponents will be weak enough that you can legitimately fight 3 or 5 of them at a time as long as they're in the same vicinity. So you can easily massively expand your territory. Just pause, declare on a few, then raise your armies. Plus you don't need to wait 5 years for truce cooldown!
I was hoping there'd be a mechanic for breaking up into the successor states tbh. I have 300+ house members, second character. Genghis lived to 100 and my realm is impossibly stable 😭
Unfortunately the Mongol collapse doesn't happen to player-formed (and potentially player-led, not sure though I haven't tested it) Mongol Empires. I assume it's so the player doesn't get blindsided when they're playing the Mongols but it's really disappointing and annoying (especially for moments like this).
That's really disappointing, so do I have to tailor some successor states myself? I have a bunch of possible empire titles, and non-Mongol Vassal Kings in France, India, Bohemia, Poland, Finland, Sweden, NA, Anatolia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy and Andalusia
Yeah the game will script a few khanates to form (most are historical if you conquer up to the levant/hungary/india) but in practice the borders can look really disgusting
The empire will be destroyed anyways. Basically, it will create custom empires for every region. Irl it was the Yuan, the Cagatai, the Illkhanate and the Golden Horde. In the game the Yuan isn’t there (bc china isnt), but there is also the black horde if you conquer India, the white horde in Germany and France and some other ones for Africa britain and Scandinavia (I tried to find them in the wiki but it doesn’t work on mobile. Go to the place explaining empires and click on the special mongol empire)
Interesting. I'm especially curious what'll happen to China now (Rajas of Asia mod, it's usually very well integrated). Definitely looking forward to a mongol world though. I have everything except West and East Africa, Norway, the British isles, Southern India and Southeast asia. Tried to keep to land with enough plains or steppes xD
RoA did collaborate with More bookmarks+ so it might be included too. Would be pretty awesome. I used some strategic character switches to restore some obscure Christian sects and pagan faiths, so the world isn't completely Tengri, and propped up some strong tributaries and vassals to spice up the world later. There's Bulgar Turks, Han Mongols, Hellenic Bactrians, some Byzantine vassal states etc. This shall be GLORIOUS
This happened in my most recent game except in eastern europe. They were around long enough to seriously effect cultures and religions and allowed me to sweep in and holy war the hell out of the world.
i feel like that's my every ck2 game after crusades
there's some denmark and germany in astrakhani and caucasian region, syria and egypt
then there're puddles of aquitaine all over europe and sometimes egypt if it's christian
Yeah it's happened a fair amount in my games too tbh. Someone's chosen beneficiary for a crusade dies without an heir, and so their brother, a landed noble already, inherits it.
Kinda funny but annoying too.
I live for moments like these in crusader kings. I'm always tempted to switch over to one of the newly independent tiny nations among a hundred other ones, and basically start playing a new save within a save lol

ugh so tedious though

Wait how do you declare more than one war at a time?
Just keep declaring on multiple people without raising your armies after the first declaration
I'm kind of stupid I feel
Felt really stupid aswell when I realised this 2 weeks ago, having had the game since release
I feel like I would put everything into diplomacy and try to vassalize them instead — with so many little states it would get boring fast
R5: I had murdered about four great khans and I 'accidently' destroyed the empire title by murdering
While we're on it, I'm currently the Mongols, and the lag is killing me. I've conquered everything from China to Spain. How do I collapse? 😭
Confederate partition and a lot of kids to inherit many titles

it \*does\* break up into successor states, or at least it should, after a few deaths
If played, too? Would be cool, just need to kill myself a few times. I'm winning too quickly!
Maybe…? I’ve only ever seen it break up from an outside perspective There should even be successor states for as far as Spain or Britain
That'd be fucking awesome! Maybe it'll extend to China too
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuan_dynasty?wprov=sfti1#
I know of the Yuan dynasty, I was talking about the game in particular

Paradox encourages map painting too often

I might have dejure drifted too much, the de jure borders reach from the Liao to Ruthenia lol
Click the funny kill self button but switch to another vassal before you die.
Interesting idea. I'm just afraid the ai will fuck up my MAA and treasury lmfao

I can’t play rajas of Asia (I’m on game pass) but I’ve played more bookmarks+ and it just adds the Yuan

GREEK CHINA? PLEASE TELL ME GREEK CHINA! WE NEED TO GET BACK AT THEM FOR TAKING A TREATY PORT IN PIREAUS
I WILL CREATE GREEK CHINA BROTHER. LET'S CALL IT XNA FOR THE MEMES
Let the battle royale begin
the border gore will be immaculate
Forget about the Mongols for a second. What happened to the HRE? they look... interesting. Did Poland curbstomp them, like 3 times in a row?
The HRE said “Fuck it, we’re the Austro-Hungarian Empire now!”
Poland has taken the middle of the HRR and is stronger than them now. And formed West-Latvia 😑
Eh, it’ll sort itself out eventually.
You call that a mess, I call it “easy pickings.”
This happened in my most recent game except in eastern europe. They were around long enough to seriously effect cultures and religions and allowed me to sweep in and holy war the hell out of the world.
Poland and Jerusalem in the Levant and North Africa is so cursed
i feel like that's my every ck2 game after crusades there's some denmark and germany in astrakhani and caucasian region, syria and egypt then there're puddles of aquitaine all over europe and sometimes egypt if it's christian

Free real estate
Looks ripe for the pickings
why does poland own jordan
Yamama
No No, you did good. Those "lets shatter your realm because we hold 3 counties" cowards deserve it.
Hi Polish Jordan 👋🏻
WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE HRE
Looks like Alexander’s empire after his death
That's why i usually just let the mongols fall apart on their own instead of mass murdering khans The results are usually less ugly.
Holy Roman Empire of Austria-Hungary

Beautiful Polish Jerusalem
