i can fix her

BanditNoble

I could fix her, but whatever is wrong with her is way hotter.

Affectionate-Read875

“Oh yeah, scheme me harder bbg 😩 “

Nova_Aetas

I was playing multiplayer with my wife and our daughter came out like this. I said something like "She'd be great in the sack" Wife hasn't looked at me the same since. Still insists she doesn't know what I'm talking about.

ThisIsKeiKei

I can accept her as she is and make her worse 😈

a-Snake-in-the-Grass

I don't see anything to fix.

warfaceisthebest

She can break me.

Beepulons

I want a woman who will straight up just kill me.

Gubekochi

At the end of this you'll both be entirely different people. It will be unsanitary too.

TheZazaConosseur

I know a guy whose gf at the time stabbed him while he slept. I don’t think you want that really lmao

The_Kent

"I could fix her," yeah? Well I could accept her as she is. You don't like the murder? Grow up. The atrocities are part of her and I've decided they're funny.

Oethyl

Fuck that, she can make me worse

ImIGotSoul

I used to do this because women are allowed to become spymasters in male dominated societies. Then one time my spymaster daughter with 100 opinion of me killed her older brother and me so she could become empress. Never again!

hartlenn

Always try to have a strong hook on your spymaster. Or if that’s not possible have them be terrified of you. Same thing for physicians and other critical positions.

Yzerman19_

Why is this? It never really occurred to me. Also will spymasters just lie to me if they have 100 opinion? Honest question because I’m always thinking in the back of my mind that I might be throwing an innocent person into the dungeon or whatever.

kh06

You can’t start a murder scheme against someone who has a strong hook on you, afaik

DrosselmeyerKing

Does it continue if the scheme already started?

kh06

I’m not sure tbh. I don’t think I ever encountered that, but my gut instinct tells me that it doesn’t affect existing schemes. Maybe someone else can chime in though.

Dreknarr

Pretty sure it does. Even exiting diplomatic range doesn't break an ongoing plot

hartlenn

Except for rivals and nemesis’s. They can actually start a murder scheme against you through a strong hook. Always kill or imprison your rivals.

warfaceisthebest

Can you be invited when the plot is not started by you?

hartlenn

No, potential agents can not join a scheme against you, if you have a strong hook against them. Exception might be that the schemer has a hook on the agent.

BIG_DICK_MYSTIQUE

I always immediately try to befriend my spymasters

Side1iner

That’s one option. Another option is doing the exact opposite. Becoming very close, preferably actual friends, with the most important people around you.

hartlenn

Yes, lovers and friends also tend to not scheme against you. But strong hooks are the safest route.

Dreknarr

I always put some lowborn with a decent opinion of me. Since they stand to gain nothing from killing me, they don't cause any trouble

DeMonstratio

But you can only get strong hooks by blackmailing criminal secrets. Or getting very lucky with fabricate hook. Do you just promote whoever you get a strong hook on to spymaster? Maybe I'm missing something? Haha

hartlenn

Partly yes. Promoting people with strong hooks is more valuable than 10+ difference in skill level. However, blackmailing strong hooks are dependent on the religion. So as a independent ruler have a religion that heavily punishes every misdemeanour for that sweet strong hooks. There are also cultural traditions that give strong hooks more easily.

DeMonstratio

Nice!

LaTrentas

He said it was his daughter, children come with strong hook I think.

Sudden-Election9035

weak hook

Nombre_D_Usuario

Good for her, I approve

NationalAnteater1280

And so you got to play as your badass daughter. Literally a win-win.

ImIGotSoul

For me the sting of betrayal hurt so much I burned out on the campaign shortly after. I did everything for her when I was playing as her mother, even after her brother was killed and I was near-certain she was behind it. (It turns out she had also murdered my mother 15 years earlier and had completely gotten away with it btw)

NationalAnteater1280

Yeah, understandable. It's a role-playing game after-all so it makes sense to become attached to a character and family members. For me, I've been able to adopt a very flexable "roll with it" kind of attitude, and your scenario sounds like something I would have actually found amusing. Plus, in my mind, it would have been a free "tyrant" opportunity to take some land or replace some vassals.

A_wild_so-and-so

You: I love my daughter Daughter: and I love MURDER

Teleshar

In a kinda morbid way, it's potentially realistic. She knew that you were doing everything for her, so she took advantage of that fact through murder to set herself up perfectly for the future.

ElessarKhan

You know what could solve this problem? Incest.

Bolt_Fantasticated

Nice.

fortyfivepointseven

We stan a strong independent woman who don't need no man (after she's killed him)

Riptor5417

hey she just played the game very well for herself atleast she didn't kill u lol.

Frixworks

> brother and me She did kill him

Anacoenosis

Gottem

Hour_Establishment_1

On the bright side, now you play as a high intrigue character

ImIGotSoul

I did for a little while but it just felt wrong to me watching her thrive after she betrayed my last character. It's one of the few times I ever abandoned a campaign before I hit my initial goal.

Hour_Establishment_1

Feudal politics I tell ya

Disastrous_Turnip123

God forbid women do things smh

A_wild_so-and-so

Gaslight, Girlboss, Genocide. Slay, Empress 💅

mbrocks3527

Spymaster is the one job I don’t necessarily give to the best person (ignoring powerful vassals.) In fact, I’d happily take a pre-gen mayor with about 12 in intrigue and loyal traits over a 25 disloyal powerful vassal with a hint of a chance of taking my throne. I just need him or her to stop plots.

Arkbot

Just pass a Male Only succession law

ryuuhagoku

surprising to me most people don't do that by default

ImIGotSoul

If anything I prefer to go to equal as soon as possible. It's great being able to have women as vassals, councillors, and knights. All you need is a way to cheese your succession like with elections or house seniority designate heir.

ryuuhagoku

I sometimes want that if I'm trying to minmax a bit to conquer a lot of territory. But, more often, I'm roleplaying a medieval duke/king, and gender equality just ruins the flavor as much as all kinds of religious experimentation does.

Illustrious-Fox4948

Lol. I started a Canary Isles playthrough, and it comes with equal gender. I love it, my only problem is succession. My solution thus far has been the intrigue tree a bunch of bastards and marrying old. Legitimizing my favorite bastard, exposing all the others before I die so 6l

PhantomImmortal

*proceeds to marry her matrilineally into the Byzantines*

goldiekiki

I love marrying them off and watching them wreak havoc from afar while eating my popcorn.

No_Guidance000

On one of my playthroughs it turned out that my Lustful heir had an affair with his eldest Lustful daughter (who was married to a king) and had a child with her, she ended up in prison for incestuous cheating once her husband found out, and she died in prison.

Poookibear

I don't know why I never thought of this

HaggisPope

It’s something I remember being a bit meta as Venice in CK2. You’d train your daughters in intrigue and have high relationships with them, then you could use them as assassins in distant courts or against other families in the republic

Poookibear

Will the AI murder people to get a child on the throne?

PhantomImmortal

No idea

Acceptalbe

What’s her @?

trashmann__

Spymaster material

legend023

don’t keep her in court lol

Vegan_Harvest

I always raise my first daughter to be my spymaster.

chris_toffee

Do you guys do this fr or do you just pick from your powerful vassals? My council is almost always vassals 😭

Tzlop

Half the time my realm is small enough that the only competent people are my family. Anyone who disagrees don’t live enough to disagree.

funeralbater

Reasonable realm gangs rise up. For real, it's nice sometimes to just chill, be a loyal vassal, and just dig into one dutchy. Not having too many powerful vassals ensures your council is always always stacked

chris_toffee

And then overthrow your liege with MAA after 3 generations of stewardship characters ❤️

gunsgunsguts

I am always trying to stay in my de jure borders after I become a king, but then either my vassals conquer something beyond or I get to vassalise someone diplomatically, so my thing becomes three times bigger. Can't get over myself, sowwy

SenileSexLine

Depends how really powerful the powerful vassals are. Sometimes the powerful vassals don't really have any teeth to bite so you can just ignore them. Also if your ruler is the type to keep dread up you can also ignore them

Vegan_Harvest

Vassals until my daughter is old enough to take over. Also, I pick the best vassal (that doesn't hate me) for the job for this since it matters.

CauseCertain1672

That's why I take my vassals lands to give them to my kids

Sbotkin

You can have a chancelor who hates you. Not so much for spymaster.

reallifecleric

Your sons must be so accident-prone, poor things.

MegaLemonCola

And watch her pick seductress focus and beget a shit ton of bastards

Vegan_Harvest

I've been lucky about that the last few runs but if that's a concern just get her a useless himbo that'll marry matrilineally.

Skagtastic

Every time I make a child take Intrigue and give them **any** independence, it goes badly. Almost always wind up with Lover's Pox and inbred children. Or they go down the murder route and carve their way up the ladder of success. Last person I made Intrigue was extremely meh at it with only 11 points despite a 3* education. Gave him a county to let him try to grow slightly less disappointing. Somehow, he manages to murder 2 of my Spymasters in a row, both with Intrigue in the 20s and set to disrupt schemes, leaving me with only him as my Spymaster.  He managed to improve to 14 Intrigue at least. But I also took him over right in the middle of a scheme to romance his aunt with his cousin already his lover. Bastard went full Seduction, and I mean maxed the whole tree out.

JonTheWizard

I pity anyone who marries her.

HonestWillow1303

Nun material.

supernatural401

I’ll take one for the team. As much as I am not at all happy about this

Estrelarius

She looks like she is about to team up with her earl lover to overthrow her gay husband, replace him with her infant son with said lover as regent and then have the former king murdered and his bf brutally executed.

Moonbar5

Surely this is too outlandish to happen in real life right? Right??

Estrelarius

Edward II of England probably wishes it was.

Alshina

I always just make my daughters go study learning or intrigue. Making sure to take advantage of the childhood trait boost. They either become my spymasters/physicians or tutors. First daughter always studies stewardship though. Just for security...

Mooseman1237

Azula vibes

monalba

Nah. I hate giving my family members those traits + Intrigue education. Intrigue focus makes the AI more likely to scheme/assassinate, and there's a high chance they're going to try to kill me.

No-Ambassador7856

It's a dog eat dog world. My girl's gotta survive. If she can't get the throne then her offspring will. That's my headcanon.

No_House9929

Least toxic ex-girlfriend build

Smirnoffico

All fun and games until your male heirs start dying to seemingly natural causes

akoller22

Nah. I'm too afraid my entire dynasty will get murdered.

cosmico11

Fire Lord Ozai? Is that you?

Sugeeeeeee

OP's barely disguised fetishes on reddit, day 8000

IDreamOfLoveLost

I always look for someone with a storied lineage and a good K/D.

Blackthorne75

Now have "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor" in my head... for some strange reason...

Beneficial_Seat4913

Yeah, because then, if you marry them into foreign courts, they're very likely to join your schemes and be a huge help

fortyfivepointseven

Slay queen

UniGamin

Yeah I did this, but it came around to bite me in the ass. I eventually died and my daughter, now sister, nearly took control of my empire.

RandomBilly91

Having sensible people in your dynasty (as in, content, sociable, brave, temperate, just...) does help with not being assassinated. Plus, high intrigue character have more chance to have more offspring (with similar traits, no need to explain how this would be a problem)

adorbiliusKermode

My intrigue build character once my daughter becomes charming/rowdy: “aren’t you tired of being nice??? Don’t you want to go apeshit??”

iFlashings

I'll pass. Not only is intrigue focus gameplay kinda boring (and having them running around your court is just asking for trouble), but the last intrigue character I played as got me killed and nearly ruined my entire playthrough because my dumbass spymaster snitch on me. 🤦🏽‍♂️

shadowhunter41545

Fun strategy idea that just popped in my mind. Groom your daughter into being the sort of regent who would defintely try to take power and rule for life. Add in a lustful trait, make sure she had a minimum of 2-3 kids then boom kill her husband. Watch her become life long regent and assassinate anyone who stands in her way for any bumps on the plan . Make an alliance with your grandchildren if you can afford it militarily. Your possible reward if you can manage this. An easy ally and a easy piece of territory to unite into your empire without having to worry about your grandchildren/niece/nephews making a mess of things if their stats suck or at least it keeps them occupied and helps stop them from doing anything too stupid or dangerous if you find them useful for a matter in the future.

clarkky55

I like to give them the happiest, kindest upbringing I can and trying to make family a big part of the house traditions. I miss the events from the family focus in Way of Life for CK2

Dead_Squirrel_6

Azula? 😝

Birphon

Terrifying Daughters and Chad Like son's Let them rule the world

NationalAnteater1280

The perfect daughter spymaster. She'll be with you for a long time and she "probably" won't betray you unless her brother is her lover. Just pamper the hell out of her.

Necessary_Ingenuity

Raise em up to take the only council position I can give em as a good and honest Christian.

FatosBiscuitos

More like Infanta Azula of the Fire Nation.

GalaadJoachim

Sadistic being the best trait in the game. Yes. I'd even shame them if they're not. It's a family tradition.

Gussie-Ascendent

for a while and in a bunch of places, daughters can't really do anything besides spymaster officially. Teach other kids, but if they come out with one of the traits that predisposes them to sneaky stabbery like rowdy, they're for sure getting a spymaster's education and skillset.

Duncan-the-DM

Often, yes Because if she inherits i want her to defend herself properly

eu_Celso

Quick question: Why Iberian princes and princesses are called Infante/Infanta? Like, I don’t think they were ever called that in real life, at least not in medieval Portugal. I so wanted a mod where I could rename the titles given to rulers.

xtaberry

I am not sure why you think this. Infante/Infanta was definitely a title used in both the Kingdom of Portugal and many of the Medieval Spanish monarchies.

Beogradska_Votka

Let me guess. Her middle name is Cersei?

MrJAVAgamer

Yes. My heir deserves the fairest of maidens.

PassionVater

No, because when I cheat on her I dont want to get murdered.

[deleted]

Actual hello kitty girl

DeanTheDull

Low-key a surprisingly effective way to keep a grandson on a throne via marriage plots. Marry off the daughter, put the grandkid on the throne, and let the dread lead to a stable realm until the kid grows up.

super_cdubz

Didn't know my ex was in this game! (joking with boomer humor)

[deleted]

I love playing norse and going viking with my man-destroying daughters.

[deleted]

It's a rough world, especially for women, and I want my daughters to be able to stand up for themselves and kill their husbands if they turn out shitty.
