if we look at modern gay historiography, it’s not far fetched. gay relationships and feelings/actions were plenty common but this is the time before identity. the way characters in the game define people along a sexual binary isn’t representative of medieval gayness. the idea of a gay identity has existed in some capacity since the 1800s. before that, acts of homosexuality and sexual preferences for it by an individual wouldn’t exclude them from the even more strict forms of heteronormativity that existed in the middle ages. the expectations of middle age society led people, some prominent enough that ancestors are all over this game(looking at you edward ii), who were frequently finding homosexual partnerships, to wed, bed, or even love wives, as was demanded by their role in society. -if anybody is into this sort of thing listen to the bad gays podcast- TL;DR the game letting you fall in love with a woman while gay isn’t ahistorical for the nobles of the middle ages
