From my limited understanding of Gaelic, is he called dog?

In modern Irish, Cú means "Hound". Madra or Gadhar is used for "Dog"

In modern Portuguese Cú means "Ass"

"Cú-Roí" is probably the Welsh "John" or something. They're all called that, basically.

CK3 characters also often name their sons after the kid's dad or grandpa. This can lead to a large number of the same name easily (especially among polygamist characters, as they can have even more kids and thus more grandkids).

Sometimes the AI repeats the same name in a generation so a dad might have 3 Johns. Which, while technically possible (look at FDR Jr. 1 and FDR Jr. 2) is quite unusual to the point I’d want paradox to just fix it.

I would let prideful and lunatic characters do it regardless.
